Chapter 99

When Carina arrived home, she ran to greet her mother. She had just returned from the hospital, and was waiting for them in the sitting room.

Though Carina was busy at work, she did take out some time to visit her mother in the hospital.

"Mom, you are back!" She said, running into her embrace.

Fiona could not act like the tough girl she claimed to be. She followed suit, sitting at the right hand side of her mother, and hugged her.

"I missed you two. I missed home," she said, hugging them tight.

"How are you feeling now, ma?" Fiona asked, disengaging from the hug.

"I'm okay. I'm fine, now."

Fiona looked at her, making sure she was really okay. When she was sure that she was in a good health condition, she nodded in satisfaction.

"I'm sure you've not had anything yet. I'll go prepare something for us," Fiona said, and made her way to her room to have a quick shower.

Carina was left with her mother, "ma, how about you rest now. I have work to do, and guess what…I got a promotion!" She
