THE silence filled the room as August commanded that in his authoritative tone. It was his usual tone when he was in the Remington Corporation, but people in the Blackbell prison saw it for the first time.

They couldn’t believe that August, who was once judged and criticized by everyone, had the capacity to be authoritative like that.

“Alright,” Amadeus answered as he recovered from his shock. It wasn’t evident on his face, but August’s sudden change of expression shocked him, too.

Amadeus, who was already behind the door, walked toward August with his hands inside his pocket. Staring at each other intently, they understood that what they were going to talk about was confidential, and no one should hear about it.

Meanwhile, the remaining two, Hector and Sergio, found it weird that August was requesting Amadeus’ presence alone. Rio, on the other hand, just didn’t care at all.

“That’s fishy, August. Why are you requesting Amadeus to stay?” Hector asked, raising a brow. “You two… Are

IN an instant, Harvey's breath caught in his throat. The tendrils of terror gripped his body, paralyzing him as he stood frozen, acutely aware of the gun aimed at his back.A voice, distinctly female, reached his ears. It was slightly familiar and he knew that he heard that somewhere before. Harvey strained to recall where he had heard that voice before, but his memory failed him."Who are you?" Harvey managed to ask, his voice trembling, hoping to divert the woman's attention momentarily and seize control of the situation by turning around and disarming her.Yet, the woman remained one step ahead, sensing Harvey's intentions. She fixed her stance and ominously cocked the .45 caliber gun she held. The sound reverberated through the silent room, intensifying Harvey's fear."Don't even think about doing anything foolish. Who knows if I'll squeeze the trigger and end you right here?" The woman's words dripped with a chilling and menacing tone. "Why are you here?"The person behind him po

AT FIRST, Daphne wasn’t able to understand what August was talking about, but as soon as the Wellington Corporation’s rural sank into her mind, her eyes widened in shock.“You’re planning to acquire that?” Daphne asked, still the shock was evident in her tone. “Did sir Charles know about this?”“Not yet,” August answered as the side of his lips rose. “I’m still processing the proposal about the acquisition, but I really have plans on why I wanted to buy that hospital—Not just my personal agenda.”Daphne didn’t answer. Instead, she stared at August intently as she tried to decipher what he was thinking. However, when August looked back at her and gave her the same intensity of the stare she was giving, she awkwardly moved her gaze away and cleared her throat.“Anyway, you should call him Father, Daphne. You’re his daughter-in-law,” August scolded her in a gentle tone.“Yeah…” Daphne replied awkwardly as she bowed her head and scratched her neck. She didn’t want August to see her face r

WESLEY's smile reflected on his face as August watched closely. The seemingly genuine expression couldn't deceive August, who understood the true emotions concealed behind the facade. August needed to be extra careful with Wesley at all costs.Despite the risks involved, August found himself sitting across from Wesley Wellington, ready to present his idea of making the rural hospital the Remington Corporation’s subsidiary.Alternatively, he was prepared to acquire it entirely, believing that a skillful negotiation with Wesley could secure it at a fair price. ‘Negotiating the price of the hospital would be easier on the head of the fish than its tail,’ said August at the back of his mind as he thought about Wesley and Francis, respectively."Please have a seat, Sir," August gestured towards the table, extending an invitation."Thank you, child," Wesley acknowledged, his bodyguard ensuring his comfort by pulling out the chair. Positioned discreetly nearby, the bodyguard maintained a

“WHY are you here?” Wesley asked, curiosity etched on his face as he gazed at his son, bewildered by the anger that consumed him. "Do you have any reason to be here as well?" he inquired further.Francis hesitated before responding, fearing that his words might inflict pain upon his father. He needed to collect his thoughts and regain composure, though his actions alone raised Wesley's eyebrow in suspicion."If not, you should leave," Wesley asserted authoritatively."Dad, I have no business being here," Francis replied, his voice laced with contempt. Concealing his clenched fists behind his back, he ensured that August and Wesley remained unaware of his raging emotions. "I happened to hear from the company about your meeting with Remington Corporation today,” he added. His voice carried a calm demeanor, yet a sharp edge underlined his words. Struggling to maintain his composure, Francis couldn't help but fixate his gaze on August, who was acting innocent as his eyes darted between

After his intense conversation with August, Francis made his way to the Wellington Corporation, burdened with a pile of unfinished tasks for the day. Deep down, he knew his father would be disappointed if he abandoned his responsibilities and rested at the mansion. Reluctantly, he trudged into his office, only to be greeted by an unexpected sight. He saw Wesley sitting on the couch, patiently waiting for him."Dad?" Francis called out, his voice laced with confusion. His brows furrowed as he added, "What are you doing here? I thought you were planning to take the rest of the day off.""I was planning to, but something captured my attention so profoundly that I couldn't tear my mind away from it," Wesley replied, raising a white folder. It was the very proposal August had presented earlier."That young man claimed the hospital held sentimental value for him, but I believe there's more beneath the surface," Wesley explained, motioning for Francis to join him on the couch.Without hesi

August accompanied Nicollo to the rural hospital, the designated meeting place chosen by Francis. He found it strange at first, which led him to bring Nicollo and two additional bodyguards along. August felt that something might happen, and this could be a trap against him.Just like what happened when Harvey and Bruce beat him to death before. However, he couldn't bear to leave his questions unanswered, which was the reason why he stood in front of the hospital now.“Just wait here and wait for my signal,” August instructed Nicollo, and the latter nodded in response. As he made his way toward the hospital entrance, a secur

TWO YEARS LATER…The waves on the water splash on the yacht where August was standing right now. Both his hands were holding onto the rail as his gaze fixated on the sunset in front of him. It was beautiful, ethereal, and breathtaking… Just like the woman who was walking toward him.“August,” Daphne called her as she gave her husband a fruit shake. “You’ve been there for an hour already. Would you want to spend this day with fish than me?” she asked, pretending to be pissed as her lips curved into a smile.“No need to be jealous of nature, my dear wife. I just want to appreciate how beautiful the sunset was.”August laughed, pulling Daphne gently closer to him using his other hand. Now, both of them were staring at the sunset with genuine smiles plastered onto their faces. August’s hand was resting on Daphne’s waist, while the latter had her head leaned on her husband’s shoulder.A year ago, both of them got remarried, for real this time. COUPLE DAYS later, August was able to heal from the beating he had endured when Raquel took him down. He was now as good as hell, and he could now work tirelessly to catch up with all of the deadlines and meetings he had neglected while he was at rest. Fortunately, the press, with a lot of help from Daphne, didn’t know a thing about what happened to August, or else he would be bombarded by the press in front of the Remington Corporation. However, it would not be for long, as something grand would happen now. August had been waiting for this day—The day when the final showdown begins. This day had come down to this moment, where the tables would turn, and justice would finally be served. This time, August made sure that Francis would not be able to run away from his crimes, nor frame someone up to escape from it. Inside August’s office, all of his allies, Daphne, Sapphire, and Maxine, were inside the room. The air was thick with tension as they were looking at the wall clock from ti

RAQUEL, at that moment, was too stunned to speak. Shivers sent down his spine as the unexpected news lingered in his mind. His shoulder was aching because of the pain, but suddenly, it became numb as the pain struck his heart.“W-What?” Raquel asked, blinking his eyes twice. “Are you… fooling me?”“No… It’s the truth.” Sapphire shook her head, the pain registering through her rounded, brown eyes. “We’re Maxine’s children—Her lost twins.”“But how?” Raquel’s brows furrowed in confusion and annoyance at the same time. “If she is my brother, and you’re my twin, and you knew everything about it… Then why didn’t you approach me?”“Maxine only knew it recently, the same as mine.” Sapphire heaved a sigh and bit her lower lip afterward to contain her emotions. After a few seconds, she spoke again.“August informed me recently by giving the birth certificates Master Charles hid in his cabinet.
