With every step Daniel took, the heat intensified, searing through his protective gear. Visibility was nearly nonexistent, as thick smoke billowed around him, obscuring his view. Coughing and struggling to breathe, he pressed forward, determined to locate the trapped worker and bring them to safety.

Through the haze, he spotted a pile of debris, partially obscured by flames. It was there that he found a worker, their lower body pinned beneath a massive fallen rock. The worker’s face was etched with pain and desperation.

“Stay calm,” Daniel shouted over the crackling fire. “I’m here to help you.” He quickly assessed the situation and realized they needed to lift the rock to free the trapped limbs. “On my count, we’ll lift it together. One, two, three!”
