Chapter 26: Throwback Coffee

Jason dragged himself home.

He looked like someone that had run a marathon.

He got home and dragged himself into the shower.

After a quick shower he changed into a t-shirt and shorts.

Since he skipped his lunch he went to the kitchen to fix himself a sandwich. He opened the fridge and grabbed what he needed for his sandwich and made two.

Just as he was done, his grandparents walked in.

“Hey, you guys.” Jason said in a way of greeting.

“Jason!” His grandmother shouted and walked over and peppered his face with kisses.

He groaned in the way you'd expect a grown man being peppered with kisses like a baby would, but fully embraced her back.

“”When did you get back?” His grandfather asked him, hanging his coat on the hanger.

“Not too long ago.” He replied.

“How was your first day?” His grandmother asked when she finally let him go.

Jason looked at her and was glad that her bruises were almost fully healed.

“It was alright.” Jason replied, looking away as he told the lie.
