As Travis approached the group, Melchior's face was set in a deep frown.

"So you're telling me that you had nothing to do with the destruction of our kingdom?" Melchior asked, his voice filled with suspicion.

"I swear on my honor, I had nothing to do with it," Travis replied, his eyes pleading for Melchior to believe him.

"And you expect me to believe that you single-handedly defeated Wilbur and saved the kingdom?" Melchior scoffed.

"I can't expect you to believe it," Travis said, his voice calm and steady. "But I can show you the truth."

As Spike approached the group, he spoke up in defense of Travis, saying, "It's true, what he's saying! He and my mother, Carnelian, saved us from Wilbur. They were the ones who stopped him, and now he's been arrested."

Melchior looked at him in disbelief, unable to comprehend how a trickster and a woman could have defeated someone as powerful as Wilbur. "Are you sure you're not mistaken?" he asked, his voice full of doubt.
