Cultivation Talent

The next day, early in the morning, Jonah left the hotel, heading to Lamert Park.

This was a large and dense vegetation by the river. Beside it, there was an artificial mountain which was full of various medicinal herbs

Unfortunately, due to the change in climate, these herbs were ineffective

Since Jonah was six years old, he had gone to Lamert Park every morning to meditate and improve his cultivation skills.

It was 3 o’clock that morning when he arrived at the park.

In nature, this was when one was in sync with the aura of the sky and the earth, which made it the best time to practice his cultivation and martial arts skills. Also, most people did not arrive at the Park by this time

Jonah jumped onto the lush field and was soundless as he landed. After searching around and confirming that there was no one in sight, he started practicing.

He sat cross-legged on the ground and took a deep breath. This was an integral part of preparing his mind and body, enabling him to get in sync with nature.

Through this process, his mind opened up, allowing him to fully be connected to the universe and everything in it, sensing the change in the wind and ocean currents, the distant chirping of birds, and even the movements of ants in the field

This was the first stage to mastering cultivation - getting in tune with the universe

At this point, he suddenly jumped high into the air and his motions were fluid, almost like he was floating.

When he landed on the ground again, he started sparring.

His sparring was as dynamic and fierce as a tiger. It felt quite fierce and malicious

At this point, he shifted his gaze to the river, and then steadily walked forward, placed one foot into the river but did not sink. He walked faster and faster, finally flying across the river

This was Shi Qung, a level of cultivation where moves were no longer important and one was not bound by nature's laws anymore.

With every movement he made, it amplified his cultivation strength and after two hours of practicing, he ended his session and walked back to Lamert Park

Eight years ago, when he was sixteen years old, Jonah was deemed the strongest talent in cultivation.

After a series of combatant displays, the elders saw him as his family's hope to become the most powerful family with cultivation skills.

At such a young age, his raw talents were unmatched even by the elders with years of practice. However, some members of his family were envious of his powers.

According to natural laws, the position of the ruler and head of the family was always passed down to the strongest and most skilled cultivation user when they turned eighteen

Before this, Jonah's father had occupied that position and was going to hand it over to his son, before he mysteriously disappeared with his wife

After his disappearance, Jonah's uncle, Michael took over as the head of the family, and feeling threatened by Jonah, he trapped him within the house, using the one power forbidden in cultivation to slowly drain Jonah of his powers till he became ordinary, until four years ago, a big fire broke out at night in the Blake family house, and luckily, Jonah was rescued by an unknown old man named Elder Pogo.

Jonah picked up a granite stone from the artificial mountain and clenched his fists furiously as he remembered that tragedy that disrupted his life

"You will all pay" he muttered

Surging with anger, his internal Qi heightened, compressing the rock in his hands and turning it into powder. He heaved a sigh and took a deep breath, then turned and left Lamert Park

Upon arriving at his room in the hotel, he saw Jerry's curious gaze but ignored it and walked to his wardrobe.

Jerry heaved a tired sigh and said "Ms Lowe has just arrived at the airport, sir"

Jonah did not say anything, he threw on a Louis Vuitton shirt and stood directly opposite Jerry, retrieved his phone, and saw an endless list of missed calls from Janet.

Sighing, he grabbed his suit jacket and then walked towards the door. Suddenly, he stopped and turned towards Jerry, "We're going to the airport" said flatly and walked out

Janet was quite intelligent, a quality which also made her very good at swindling. Despite her youthful exuberance, both Jonah and Jerry were afraid of her

After about thirty minutes, they finally arrived at the airport, and as soon as they stepped in, Jonah spotted a small group gathered in a circle. They seemed focused and ecstatic, and immediately Jonah felt drawn to the sight

Intrigued by the scene and the premonitions that followed, he turned and headed toward the small crowd

Jonah shook his head and looked over to Jerry who was just as appalled "I should have guessed" Jonah said

"Janet f*cking Lowe" Jerry smirked, staring at the girl in the center of the crowd gambling and robbing a half-naked man who had lost all his belongings, including his clothes, and didn't look like she was going to stop there

"Poor guy" Jonah muttered

"She's gonna rob him dry. Wonder what lie he'll tell his wife" Jerry said with pity

The man's face drained of color, fighting hard to stifle the tears that were about to stream down his face

"I'm sorry, I can't go on, you..." before he could complete his words, Janet interjected

"Want to go ten for ten?" She teased with a demonic smirk

"How about I make it interesting, if you win the dice roll this time, you win back everything. H*ck I'll even be generous enough to throw in an extra two thousand dollars and striptease for you in front of all these people" Janet said enticingly and shot the man a seductive look

At that moment, the crowd erupted in a series of chants "Do it, Dylan!",

"Her luck's going to run out, she can't possibly win ten times!",

"You're not going to let a girl punk you out like this, are you?! Go for it!!"

"Do it!", they egged him on

A cold sweat trickled down the man's forehead. On one note, he could win back everything he's lost and even get her to striptease, but then again if he lost this round, he would have lost everything.

He was on the verge of insanity, pondering the situation deeply, but just before he could make a decision, a loud yell echoed across them

“Ms Lowe!”

"Are you done having your fun?!"

Janet and the entire crowd turned, startled. When she saw Jonah, a wry smile appeared across her face.

Jerry stared at the half-naked man in sympathy, he had lost over five percent of his shares to her in just an hour. If only Dylan knew she was listed on black lists in casinos, he never would have dared to think he stood a chance at winning against her.

This was nothing new to her, her youthfulness and innocence made her quite the pushover, but in truth, she was a demon.
