The Top Floor

Shortly after Jonah arrived at Windsor Hotel, Vic, Morraine and Caitly walked into the hotel and headed toward the front desk to get their seat reservations

As soon as they saw Jonah standing by the elevator, they shrieked in surprise, rushed to him, and spoke

"Are you following us?!" Caitly glared at Jonah in annoyance. How was the bastard even allowed in here?

Caitly had always disliked Jonah, he was such a disappointment. Suddenly, the corner of her lips curved into a smile as she said mockingly

"Did you sneak your way into this hotel as well, you miserable f*ck. Are you here to beg again?"

Jonah smiled lightly and said confidently "Yes, I'm here to beg on behalf of the family, Ms Smith",

Blood rushed to Caitly's face, and her face burned with humiliation. She had not expected Jonah to speak up, especially in such a high horse manner

Jonah had intelligently flipped her words against her. Seeing the fury burning on Morraine's face, she mumbled sheepishly "I did not mean it like that mother",

"Shut up!" Morraine chided indignantly

At that moment, Jonah walked into the elevator and pressed the top button on the elevator immediately as Vic walked in. Vic gaped in bewilderment when he saw they were headed to the last floor and immediately jumped out frantically

He still felt a little dizzy and confused as he watched the elevator ascend to the top floor.

Suddenly, a gloomy cloud hovered over his face. He was clearly annoyed

The top floor of the Windsor Hotel was reserved for extremely important guests and meetings. The hotel was divided into four membership levels, silver level, Gold, Diamond and Platinum membership levels

However, the top floor was reserved only for Platinum members and no one was allowed there without a membership card

Recounting his last experience where he was kicked out the last time he tried to visit the top floor, Vic smirked mischievously and composed himself.

He was almost certain that Jonah would meet the same fate he did, and quickly glanced at his watch

A minute went to two and then almost five, and he was still waiting to gloat and mock Jonah when he was returned to the ground floor, but the elevator doors did not open.

His face slowly turned into a shade of brewing rage, and his curiosity grew

Was it possible that the bastard had gotten through?

It would explain why he had not been kicked down by now. Upon that realization, Vic's face wrinkled with a deep frown

How could this deadbeat loser be allowed up there? He fumed with anger, and without further thought, stormed to the other end of the lobby

When Jonah arrived at the top floor, Jerry Paul was waiting for him and marched up to the guards as soon as the door opened

"He's with me," he said flatly and led Jonah toward the dining hall

As soon as they walked into the hall, all the guests at the table stood upright and bowed respectfully, ushering Jonah to his seat

"Welcome Mr Smith. We've been waiting for you. It's our honor to have you eat at our table" Morgan, Vic's uncle uttered respectfully

Jonah sized him from head to toe curiously. He was a 56 or 58 middle-aged man with a heavy build and a plump figure

However, Jonah had to admit that he looked very decent in an honorable manner. And at that point, he had a little doubt - how could such a respectful man be related to a buffoon as Vic

Sitting down directly opposite Morgan Francis, Jonah only nodded in acknowledgment.

Scanning around the room, he noticed the family heads of Eldredge's top one percent prominent families gathered around the table, together with the Mayor.

At that point, he couldn't help but be curious about the purpose of this abrupt lunch.

In his mind, he thought that they were here to try and secure the collaboration with Grindel Enterprise as well

But if that was the case, why were they so eager to meet him, or were they just checking out the competition?

Jonah's mind was filled with so many distracting thoughts, he couldn't hear when Morgan called him,

"Mr Smith?" The man's voice suddenly faded in after the third call

"Yes?" Jonah replied breaking out of his trance

"Mr Francis was just saying how delighted he is to finally meet you in person. Full disclosure, he has been trying to secure this collaboration with us since the day he got word that we were bringing our company to his city", Jerry Paul said hastily, briefing Jonah about the reason for the meeting.

Just as I expected, Jonah thought

But at that point, his interest was suddenly piqued when he heard Morgan's family name

"Francis?" Jonah asked

"Yes Mr Smith, that would be me. I'm Morgan Francis", Morgan said proudly

However, Jonah ignored his remark and asked with a cold tone "Are you related to Vic Francis?"

Morgan frowned instantly upon seeing Jonah's expression. He was certain his stupid nephew had offended the man. He would not allow that loser to ruin everything for him. He heaved a distressing sigh and said earnestly

"I sincerely apologize for whatever way my stupid nephew offended you, Mr Smith. I hope this does not affect our collaboration?",

At this exact moment, the doors swung open forcefully as Vic stormed in angrily. A malicious look hovered in his eyes immediately he saw Jonah

Vic felt a surge of blood flooding his head, exploding inside. Infuriated to see that a loser nobody like Jonah would be allowed up to the top floor, while he wasn't.

His breaths became heavy and his eyes scowled with hatred as he looked askance at Jonah, who looked back at him with a scornful smile on his face.

Vic couldn't hold back anymore, he became overwhelmed with rage and blurted angrily

"Get the f*ck out of here!"
