CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWO
“Wake up” Jake heard someone say. His sight was blurry and the sounds came in huge waves. He wondered where he was as his brain couldn't gather enough details to match with his current situation. He couldn't feel his legs and his hands felt as if they were tied or something. He struggled to free his hands but his efforts were in vain because it felt as if the more he struggled, the more the hands tightened. “He's waking up” He heard someone say, But he couldn't see who was talking. The whole place was dark, he shut his eyes and opened them again, but it was still the same thing. Slowly, he became fully conscious and the memories started to pour in. He remembered how he was with Kate when his mother called him, down to where the stupid guard knocked him out. He cursed under his breath, he knew Kate would be worried about him. He realized the weight of his situation. The real Jake was back and now, they haCHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THREE “Arghhhh” Mario screamed as he felt the hot iron on his chest for the umpteenth time. ‘These people were demons’ he thought in his mind. He had given them every piece of information that would have been important to him, but they were still hellbent on knowing who he was working with, and he was not ready to tell them anytime soon. His chest hurt, but he wasn't going to give them the satisfaction they needed. He knew it wouldn't be long again, they would let him go as they wouldn't want to kill him. “Who do you work with? I ask again” the man asked again and Jaje smirked “Is that all you got?” He asked the man with a cock of his brows and the man sighed. He had tried all means possible to hear an answer from Mario's mouth, but it seemed like the guy was not willing to give him any more information. “Just one simple answer and we wouldn't have to go through all these processes. But you are t
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOUROwen rolled on his back with a sigh. He opened his eyes to see the tiny rays of sun filtering into the room from the side of the curtains. He turned to look at Rina who was still sleeping soundly by his side. He smiled after a while, she looked like a kid when she was asleep. He brought his legs down from the bed and on the bed table, he picked up his phone to look at the time. He was surprised to see that it was just a few minutes past seven. He thought he would oversleep due to the tiredness from yesterday's event and the time he went to bed. It seemed his body was already used to waking up early. He walked straight into the bathroom, brushed his teeth and took his bathe. He came out of the bathroom clad in only his waist towel and he had a brush in his hand. He could have brushed his hair in the bathroom but he decided to do it out here. “Good morning” he heard from the side and he turned to see Rina sitti
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE “You see, although no one would caution me if I go late, but I think I have about twenty four minutes more before my arrival be regarded as late, so let's make good use of our time, what do you think?” Owen asked and from the look of excitement in her eyes, he needed no soothsayer to tell him that she was fully in. “Shall we?” He asked, just to be sure and she nodded her head slowly to show affirmation. Owen smiled as he took off the towel which was the only piece of clothing on his body while Rina just raised the nightgown she was putting on up her thighs, and they got to work immediately. ************ “Did you find anything mum?” Kate asked her mother for the umpteenth time. Maria sighed as she dropped the phone on the bedside table. Kate had asked her this after every single call she had made since her arrival and it was beginning to bug her now. She had not expected Kate to arrive that early
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND ONE Maria and Kate had just gotten to Kate's and Jake's home, There they could already see him standing outside the house. He stood close to his car, tapping his leg continuously on the locked floors. He seemed uneasy and Kate watched him carefully, she felt there was something wrong. She turned to look at her mother and she could see that Maria felt the same way. “Jake” she called and he turned to her almost immediately. It seemed he had been oblivious to her arrival all the while. She ran into his arms and hugged him tight. He stood there for a minute, unmoving and Kate thought she had done something wrong. She thought they bonded well the day before and that was why she hugged him, it seemed they were back to square one. She felt her heart sink as she slowly released her arms around him, in an attempt to let go of him but he drew her back in, enveloping her in a tight hug while Kate's face broke into a relaxed smile. He looked up at once and he
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVEN************* ***Two days later*** “What the hell are you trying to say, where the hell is my son?” Tamara barked on the phone. Her palms were sweaty and her throat hurt from shouting continuously. Daniel had left home for work early this morning and a few minutes later, his guards were telling her that they were attacked on their way and he was taken. She had sent messages to her ground workers and many had called to relay the same information, ‘he was nowhere to be found’ “I'm sorry ma'am, we tried our best but we can't seem to find him. It seems he was taken directly out of the city because if he wasn't, we would have seen him by now” the man answered over the phone “You're so incompetent, how many places did you check? Was there not a CCTV camera where he was taken? Can't you start the search from there?” She barked for the umpteenth time. “There were no CCTV’s there ma’am, it was a blind spot, the perpetrators knew the place
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND EIGHT Maria had left and it was just Jake and Kate in their room. He sat on one of the couches deep in thought while she sat at the edge of the bed, cautiously observing him. He had been acting weird since he returned and she had wanted to ask if something was wrong but she couldn't muster the courage to do so. She tried to remember if she had offended him in any way before he left, but she couldn't come up with anything. They were cool before his disappearance and now, he was acting all cold and it troubled her. On the other hand, Jake was patiently waiting for Kate to fall asleep so he could call his mum to ask about any new developments. They were on tenterhooks as they were sure that Mario's accomplices would likely retaliate if they found out he had been kidnapped. He didn't want to leave his mum alone in the middle of all this, but Maria and Kate were close to finding out his location and the only way to stop them would be to show his face to them, s
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINE Owen sat on one of the couches in the sitting room as he waited for Tamara to come in. He had asked one of the guards to ask the others to let her in and for about twenty minutes he had been waiting but there was no sign of her. He shook his head in exasperation as he got up from the couch and headed to the door. Halfway to the door, he heard noise outside the house and he sighed. He placed a call to his head guard and the man picked up almost immediately. It seemed as if he had been waiting for his call. “Greetings boss” the man greeted “What's going on at the gate?” Owen asked, not caring to return his greeting “Uhmm it's the woman at the gate, she's refusing to go in without her guards and I've told her countlessly that she can't go in with all those armed men” the man replied and Owen let out a deep breath. With the way she came with all those men, he already knew something was wrong. The fact that she was requesting to talk to him only
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TEN Mario opened his eyes with a groan as he was not surprised to see himself in a totally different room. He remembered the guards come in and that was the last thing he could recall. He tried to move his hands with the feeling that it might have been tied up but he was surprised to see that it wasn't. He took a look around the room he was in, and it looked a little bit familiar to him. He tried to recall when he came here, but his brain failed him. He looked out the window and he could see that the house was situated in the middle of the woods, more like middle of nowhere. It was a two storey building, probably an abandoned house. He stood up from the floor as he made his way to the door. He twisted the doorknob and the door became ajar. He wrinkled his brows as he didn't understand what sort of game they were playing with him. He went back into the room and looked for a sharp object to take with him. He saw a screwdriver by the side of the bed a
