Mario opened his eyes to see where he was in, but he couldn't see much as the place was dark. He tried to stand up but he felt severe pains on the side of his head and he winced as he touched the affected side of his head. He felt the moistness on his fingers and since he couldn't really see, he brought it to his nose and took a sniff. It was blood, lots of it on the side of his head.
