CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTEENHe looked down to see the shattered ceramic cup and his blood that had stained several parts of it. Blood dripped down his forehead down to his nose as it stained the ground he was standing on. He kept his head bowed, as he didn't want to be disrespectful. She was already angry at him, so anything he said or do would only make her angrier. He couldn't risk that. “How was the mission?” She asked but he didn't say a word. He kept quiet and she knew what silence meant. In a business like theirs, silence signified failure and failure is met with severe punishment. “You failed” she chuckled as if she didn't already know. She just wanted to hear him say it and he was not going to give her that satisfaction. “Even after all my motivations, my patience with you” she paused for a while “Even after all my warnings” she yelled as she threw a book on the table towards him and the book met with his abdomen but he didn't move. “And don't just keep qu
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN She held his chin in her hand as she raised his head up to her level. “Now, let me make this clear to you, I'll let this slide, just this once because I am in a very good mood. But I assure you, the next time something like this happens, you won't live to tell the tale. This should serve as a lesson for the others.” She stood up and was on her way out when she paused and he almost cursed out “Clean up and guard up, we have somewhere to be” she said as she walked out of the office. A few minutes later, two guards walked into the room, probably to come clean up the mess they had created and he took that as his cur to use the door. Using the last of his strength, he got up from the floor and slowly made his way to the door, his whole body aching. Imagine going through punishment for three days straight. Using the walls as support, he slowly made his way to his room and he was not surprised to see Kylie there, her eyes were red and swolle
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN Daniel rubbed his eyes as he woke up from sleep. It took him some time to understand what had happened as he had hit his head pretty hard. He coughed as his throat felt sore and he sighed right after. So this is what being kidnapped felt like. The room was dark and cold and it seemed as if his sight was a little bit blurry. He had been here for probably a day and he hadn't seen or heard from anyone. He didn't know who had him kidnapped but he could take a wild guess. He knew it was Owen, it seemed he was tired of hiding under skirts and he was now ready to have his revenge against him. He didn't even know how he got here in the first place. He was on his way to his company, next thing, their car crashed into another and that was the last thing he remembered. He woke up to see himself here, and since then, he hadn't met or seen anyone. He knew news would have gotten to his mother already and she would be on the lookout for him, it was only a ma
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN She pulled the trigger and he was shot three times in the leg. He screamed out in pain as he rolled to the side. He had never seen such an amount of blood and the sight of it made him dizzy and he lost consciousness immediately. She shook her head at his cowardliness but it still helped her in a way. At least, she won't have to kill him now, he has made the job easier for her. She turned to the door and the two men that were standing and they walked in to meet her. She pointed to one of the guards. “Put gloves on, make the blood go round his body, his chest especially” she ordered and the guard got to work immediately as he didn't want to waste time and risk making her angry. “When you're done with whatever you're doing, you make sure to take about five or ten pictures, clear ones. Have I made myself clear?” She asked and the man replied “Yeah, ten pictures it is” he wanted to impress her but she just scoffed. Daniel was just a pawn in her
CHAPTER HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN Tamara sat on the floor, dried tears stuck under her eyes and her eyes were red and swollen. Her hair was disheveled due to constant pulling. At that moment, she looked like a mad woman. Gabriel had tried calming her down, but it seemed as if his words only hurt her more, and so, he decided to let her be. They all sat in the longest cushion in the room, their eyes fixated on her while she stared ahead. She had this distant look in her eyes and her face was red from constant rubbing. She stood up abruptly and they all looked at her in bewilderment. “Let's go” she said to the guards who stood at the side. It's been four hours since those pictures were sent to her and the men were even tired of standing, but they couldn't dare to complain, seeing the mood she was in. The men assigned as she arranged her hair and rubbed off the dried tears on her face. She put on her shoes, she had taken them off during her fit. “Where are you going?” Gabrie
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETEEN Three days had passed since Daniel's kidnap and assumed death. Tamara was hell bent on getting her son's body, she had been moving from one hospital to another, one mortuary to another. And at one point, she had even gone to mass graves, but she still couldn't get the body she so wanted badly. Gabriel, although he would have lived to help her in the search, he knew he had to find a way to stop Danny without being too noticeable, so he worked in the shadows. He couldn't bring himself to inform Owen what he had found out about Rina after the unfortunate news they had received that day. Although he knew that Owen and Daniel were not on good terms, he knew Owen would be heartbroken after what happened that day, so he didn't want to add salt to an already open wound, so he kept his mouth shut. Owen and Rina were busy trying to trace a dead or alive Daniel and their plans weren't working so well as it was in their heads. All their trails were lead
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY Kate had just gotten back from the office, she looked like she was in a shitty mood and this made all the maids avoid her. They steered clear from her line of sight as she walked into the house, her bag hanging on one of her arms. She made a beeline to their (she and Jake’s) room and she shut the door behind her with a loud bang. The maids and guards felt the house shook and some of them were even scared. She looked at the clock on the wall and it was past seven at night. She took off her office clothes and she went for a cold shower. She had decided that she and Jake would settle their differences today. Although, last she remembered, they never had an issue to begin with, but with the way he's been acting lately, she would try to have a decent discussion, one that wouldn't end in an argument with him later today, whenever he got back. This was the thought she had in mind as she got into the shower and freshened up. She went downstairs and
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY ONE Owen got down from his car, he had not allowed his security to go with him, as he didn't want to raise any alarms, or draw too much attention. And what better way to draw attention than arriving with a convoy? He stood close to the car, checking out the spits where they could possibly have CCTV'S around. His eyes searched for a while before he finally saw it. He smirked. The contractors were professionals, as the place where they had installed the cameras was unique. It would be like looking for a grain in a haystack, and that wasn't a day job. He was happy to have found it easily. He walked into the hotel and one of the waiters came to welcome him. He requested to see the manager and he was taken to a corner to wait for him. In no time, the waiter from earlier came to meet him where he sat. He was told that the manager had called him to his office. He went with the waiter and the girl took him to the manager's office. When they got there
