CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY THREE Owen rolled on his back with a sigh. He opened his eyes to see the tiny rays of sun filtering into the room from the side of the curtains. He turned to look at Rina who was still sleeping soundly by his side. He smiled after a while, she looked like a kid when she was asleep. He brought his legs down from the bed and on the bed table, he picked up his phone to look at the time. He was surprised to see that it was just a few minutes past seven. He thought he would oversleep due to the tiredness from yesterday's event and the time he went to bed. It seemed his body was already used to waking up early. He walked straight into the bathroom, brushed his teeth and took his bathe. He came out of the bathroom clad in only his waist towel and he had a brush in his hand. He could have brushed his hair in the bathroom but he decided to do it out here. “Good morning” he heard from the side and he turned to see Rina sitting at the edge of the bed. He
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR Owen sat on one of the couches in the sitting room as he waited for Tamara to come in. He had asked one of the guards to ask the others to let her in and for about twenty minutes he had been waiting but there was no sign of her. He shook his head in exasperation as he got up from the couch and headed to the door. Halfway to the door, he heard noise outside the house and he sighed. He placed a call to his head guard and the man picked up almost immediately. It seemed as if he had been waiting for his call. “Greetings boss” the man greeted “What's going on at the gate?” Owen asked, not caring to return his greeting “Uhmm it's the woman at the gate, she's refusing to go in without her guards and I've told her countlessly that she can't go in with all those armed men” the man replied and Owen let out a deep breath. With the way she came with all those men, he already knew something was wrong. The fact that she was requesting to talk to hi
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE "Careful there” Owen told the man who held her hand. They had just come out of the hospital after the consultation with the doctor. He still had the bandage on his head but he was less concerned about it. He just didn't want to see his wife or his child harmed. Rina smiled when she heard the concern in his voice, she couldn't expect such love and care from someone she had actually betrayed in a sense. He still acted cool with her even after he found out everything. If she had known that he would act this way, then she would have told him since, now she was just left with what ifs, but she was happy it wasn't regrets. A win's a win. Now, she just had to stay strong and make his dream come true for him. She was still strong enough to walk and work, but he just didn't want to take chances with her and the baby's life. She had thought he was acting all possessive, but she had just come to see this side of him. He was possessive as hell and she l
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SIXAlthough he felt that might have been a presentation to gain his trust again, but his heart had always been soft and this heart of his, he always followed. He wouldn't sit by and allow past experiences to change his perspective of things, or sit by and allow those not a o good memories stop him from creating new ones. He was ready to start afresh with her if she was willing to start afresh with him too. They drove for a while and the driver finally pulled up. Rina raised her hard from his chest to look out and she could see they were outside her mother's house. She cleaned her clammy palms on her gown and she bit her fingers. “Are you ready?” Owen asked when he saw the way she looked at her fingers nervously. She took two deep sighs before nodding “Yeah, I am” she replied and Owen and the driver shared looks before the man horned. In no time, the gate was opened and they were let in without further ado. They parked the car at a decent pos
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SEVEN “I'll be going home now ma” Owen said as he got up from his seat and he saw the way her expression changed. She wanted him to stay a little longer, but she knew he had a pregnant wife to take care of at home, so she couldn't take too much of his time. “Ok, I'll see you off to your car” She said and Owen smiled before bringing his hand out in a gentlemanly way and they merged their arms before walking out of the house with smiles on their faces. She saw him to the car and he was about to get in when she stopped him. He looked at her questioningly. “How's my daughter?” She asked and Owen looked at the car before looking back at her. “She's fine” he replied “And the baby?” She asked again “Doing pretty well” Owen replied. “Do you have any messages for her? I can help you pass it across, if you share” He said and she wanted to shake her head but she remembered. “Just tell her I miss her” she said and Owen nodded his head. He could s
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY EIGHT Kate sat on the kitchen counter as she watched Mario prepare the dish he had promised to prepare for her before he was kidnapped that day. The both of them were still trying to settle their differences since the truth was discovered. He knew she was still angry at him for lying to her, but she loved him also, so she couldn't possibly stay angry at him for too long, but still he was trying in every possible way to make her forgive him faster. Now he did have his mask on and he was just him and yet she still chose to stay with him. Even after the rude words he told her the day they met. “Would you care to have a taste?” He asked as he scoped a little of the egg sauce with the wooden spoon in his hands. She looked at the spoon skeptically but after some time, she finally agreed. She came down from the counter and walked to where he stood, in front of the stove. She collected the spoon from him and she used her fingertips to fetch some
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY NINE “Unfortunately, I can't. You have to listen to me” Mario yelled back and that earned him a glare from Kate. “I do not regret it because no matter how many times I look at it, all I can see is the day you walked through that door and then the moment you agreed to marry me” he paused for a while. “At first, I had decided that I would just play along until it was time to leave, but after spending a day with you, here in this house, I fell without second thoughts. I do not know what you have done or what you are doing to me Kate, heck I didn't even marry you out of love, but I can gladly tell you that this man right here is on a leash and you Kate, are the one who holds that leash” he paused again. He could see she was literally struggling with the tears that were threatening to pour out any minute. “I understand why you're acting this way, but I just want you to know that I am very sorry and I wish you would actually forgive me and we can go
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTY Rina sat on the floor in the bathroom, she had left the shower on so she could cry and shout without anyone outside noticing even though she knew they wouldn't notice since the walls were soundproof and she had shut the door damn tight. She couldn't take Tyla's voice off her mind, the statement repeated itself severally in her ears and she tried to shut it off, but it wasn't working out. Of all the times, now that she had finally fallen for him, now that she had decided to be good, live a good life and make kids with him. She laughed warily. It seems fate has its own way of making decisions. She had finally become a first wife without even asking for it. Never in her wildest dreams would she think that something like this would actually happen. She didn't grow up in a polygamous family so she wouldn't want her kid to grow up in one as she knew about the issues that always resulted. She got under the running shower with her clothes on as the
