CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SIX “I shouldn't have fought with her” Kate said, as she lay in bed with Mario in her room. She had thought of what happened between her and her mother earlier and now, she was feeling a little bit guilty. She could clearly understand the kind of pain and confusion her mother was in, and yelling at her that way was like pouring salt on an open wound. She had to sleep over it to realize that. Mario shifted on the bed and she understood he was trying to sit up. She sat up and he did too. They sat facing each other and he gave her a look that said ‘I told you so’ . “Don't give me that look” Kate said as she bent her face. She was already having a bad day without getting out of bed. She stood up from the bed and stripped to the bathroom. She washed her face and cleaned her teeth before coming out. She met him in the same position she had left him and she gave him a questioning look. “Aren't you getting out of bed?” She asked. “Hell, I am

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE They had been standing for the past ten minutes and Danny had not said a word to them even after everything Tyla had said. The guards had stopped banging the door and Rose Mary surmised that they had come to a conclusion that banging it would not make her open it. She had a cunny smirk on her face. “What do you say Danny? Just a word from you and those men outside will back down. You can end this, you alone can end it” Tyla continued, hoping she could convince her even though her hope was very low. “So, I should let him go? Is that what you are trying to say” She asked, her gun still pointing at Owen where he knelt on the floor. “Yes, and we can all go home in Peace” Rose Mary replied this time. “Here you are, talking of peace and still having a gun pointed at me. How peaceful that looks” Danny taunted. Owen looked between Rose and Tyla and he gave her a slow nod. She gave Danny a thorough look before gently bringing the gun

She couldn't take Tyla's voice off her mind, the statement repeated itself severally in her ears and she tried to shut it off, but it wasn't working out. Of all the times, now that she had finally fallen for him, now that she had decided to be good, live a good life and make kids with him. She laughed warily. It seems fate has its own way of making decisions. She had finally become a first wife without even asking for it. Never in her wildest dreams would she think that something like this would actually happen. She didn't grow up in a polygamous family so she wouldn't want her kid to grow up in one as she knew about the issues that always resulted. She got under the running shower with her clothes on

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY THREE She never thought Gabriel would think of coming here in this lifetime. “What the hell is Gabriel doing here?” She asked no one in particular “Tell him I'm on my way” she told the girl before going back in and she heard the girl leave. She went back into her room and she wiped the tears off her face and applied a little bit of makeup to shield her swollen under eyes. She came out after a little time and she went downstairs to see Gabriel. He came with his assistant, his handbag as she addressed him before. “To what do I owe this pleasure?” She asked as she walked down the stairs majestically. Gabriel and the man raised their heads up simultaneously to look at her. “Tamara” Gabriel called and she cocked a brow at him. “What is it Mr man?” She asked “How's Daniel?” He asked and she chuckled loudly. “Oh, you remembered to ask of him today. That's weird, did something happen to Owen? Huh? Best father of the year” She said, her voi

It seems they had put on the generator. She cursed as she saw the person pointing the gun at her. It was the man from earlier, the one she had not killed and she regretted that decision right now. She should have just killed him, but it was too late. Sb couldn't turn back the hand of time. She raised both of her hands up in the air and she saw another shooter come out from the back. It was Danny and it seems like the woman recognized her too because she smirked when she saw her. Tyla gave her a bored look, she had this haughty smile on her face. “What a surprise Tyla, looks like Owen couldn't man up and come by himself, so he sent you instead. That's funny” she said, her smirk not leaving her face. “Well, he didn't seem you worthy enough” Tyla replied with a calm smile and Danny cocked

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY ONE “Unfortunately, I can't. You have to listen to me” Mario yelled back and that earned him a glare from Kate. “I do not regret it because no matter how many times I look at it, all I can see is the day you walked through that door and then the moment you agreed to marry me” he paused for a while. “At first, I had decided that I would just play along until it was time to leave, but after spending a day with you, here in this house, I fell without second thoughts. I do not know what you have done or what you are doing to me Kate, heck I didn't even marry you out of love, but I can gladly tell you that this man right here is on a leash and you Kate, are the one who holds that leash” he paused again. He could see she was literally struggling with the tears that were threatening to pour out any minute. “I understand why you're acting this way, but I just want you to know that I am very sorry and I wish you would actually forgive me and we can go b

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY NINE Owen had his arms wrapped around Tyla as they lay on the bed. He knew Rina would probably scream her head out if she came in and saw them in this position. But he had to do what was important and getting Tyla to sleep was very important at this moment. He ran his hand across her back and she relaxed against his touch. They lay side to side, her back pressed closely against his chest, while his arm was wrapped around her waist. “Owen” she called, her voice a little bit groggy. He could tell that she was almost falling asleep. “Hmm” he replied and she was silent for a while, the beeping sound of the machines in the room being the only sound audible. She sighed loudly before she finally spoke up. “Do you think bad people deserve to be loved too?” She asked and he was taken back by her question. He didn't think she would actually ask him something like this. “Yeah” he answered sincerely “Everybody deserves to be loved” he added. She wanted
