Chapter 3

CHAPTER THREE

"Good evening, young master." A deep male's voice sounded from behind.

Hearing the words of the man a puzzled exression appeared on Owen's face as he turned around to see a man not older than fourty and clad in a striking black suit.

"Long time no see,Young master Owen." The man spoke further with a slight smile.

"Albert?" Owen blurted out after glaring at the man for few minutes and finally recognised him.

"Yeah, glad you still remember me after all these years." Albert remarked in a respectful tone.

"B-but how? Aren't you suppose to be dead?" Owen stuttered a bit as he took few steps backwards in confusion.

Albert was his father's right hand man back then and he was also on the plane that crashed years ago. How then was he here?

"I will explain, do not worry." Albert smiled a bit after witnessing Owen's shocked expression. "You see, not only am i alive but your father is also." Albert informed.

Owen was taken aback after hearing the words of Albert, and he doubted the authentication of his words.

"What nonsense do you speak, Albert?" Owen voiced with clenched fists.

"Of course, i don't expect you to believe me immediately i tell you, but your father is truly alive and well." Albert remarked. "Both of us never got on the plane thar crashe due to some last minute business meeting."

"Stop speaking bullshit, Albert! I don't find it pleasing when you use my late-father's name for a prank." Owen fumed in anger.

"Ah, you still don't believe me, eh? Alright, here's a recording your father made today and asked me to deliver to you." Albert then dipped his right hand into his right pocket and took out his phone.

He typed away for a few seconds before the recording began to play and Owen could hear his father's voice clearly. The recording was quite short, but it was enough for Owen to believe his father was indeed alive and well.

Owen was taken aback after hearing the recording, and he struggled to digest the news. All the time he has been suffering alone and also mourned him, little did he know that the person he mourned was alive.

"Like i said earlier, we only escaped death cause we had to attend a late minute meeting..and when the news of the plane crashing, your father knew that wasn't a normal accident and someone was responsible for it. That's why he chose to remain in hiding to make whoever tried to kill him believe he was truly dead." Albert finally spoke up after receiving nothing but silence from Owen.

"He went into hiding and couldn't tell his own son? He was alive and couldn't call to inform me?" Owen clenched his fists tightly in anger, disgusted by his father's decision.

"Him not informing you was for the better, trust me." Albert bellowed in a hush tone.

"For the better? Do you know how many months i cried? How many years i suffered just because everyone thought he was dead. My inheritance was stolen from me, my in-laws hates me just because i have nothing and you are telling me it's for the better?" Owen voiced out in boiling anger, even Albert could tell how much Owen had suffered just by looking into his eyes.

"I understand you, Owen, trust me. But you should also understand your father's motive behind all these." Albert spoke softly, placing his arm on Owen's shoulder who had his head bowed down and his emotions saddened.

"If that's what you came here to inforn me about then you should leave since you already passed out the information. Also, tell him to not bother showing his face or inviting me over..he can continue hiding for all i care." Owen spoke disheartedly.

"Your father told me you would say that, that's why he asked me to give you a little amount of money and also few gifts to tell you how much he is sorry. Of course, he can't show his face right now since he is yet to find the culprit, but soon you will get to finally meet him." Albert informed, taking out a golden-colored shiny Atm card from his pocket.

Catching a glimpse of the card, Owen's eyes widened in shock and he gulped.

"There is a total of 100 billion dollars in this card, have it and get stuffs for yourself. Also, he left some properties and companies under your name and all you have to do is show up at Echelon Industries tomorrow and sign few documents. Once the documents are signed, the stated proprties in the document would be yours." Albert spoke forward while stretching the Atm card towards Owen.

Owen stood there in disbelief after hearing the words of Albert. The man just called 100 billion dollars little amount, and Owen wondered just how much he would get when he signs the documents.

Earning so much money and having such huge amount in his account wasn't a new thing for Owen, but after spending years in hunger and poverty, he couldn't help but drool at the sight of the Atm card.

"Like i said, i don't need nothing from my father. Since he left me to suffer for all these years, i don't mind if i keep suffering." Owen rejected, but his eyes was still glued on the shiny card.

"Are you sure about that, young master?" Albert questioned with furrowed eyebrows. "We did kept a tab on you and watched your every move during these past years. We know how Tamara forcefully collected your wealth and company, and we also know how your in-laws treats you like trash. But with these, you can finally strike back."

"You are several figures into debt, Owen, and soon your lovely wife might divorce you. Also, look over there, your friend is about to be used as a sex slave since she's unable to pay for the meal she spilled." Albert persuaded, still stretching forth the card towards Owen.

Owen knew Albert was right. He would only be foolish if he chooses to decline. After glancing at the card for few more minutes, Owen retrieved it and swiftly made his way towards the ongoing comotion.
