CHAPTER FORTY FIVE Maria stood in her room as she went through their endorsements for the past few weeks. A wide smile crept its way into her lips as she saw the way their company gained more popularity and recognition. She knew the contract would bring her many gains. But she was still concerned about the fact that she had not heard from Owen ever since the day he came to her office to lend a helping hand. He had collected James' address and that was the last time she saw him. And she had also not heard from James, neither had she heard from the other shareholders. It all seemed surreal, odd but satisfying. She had thought that the shareholders would be on her neck by now, or even withdraw their shares. But it seemed like she was just scared for nothing. All was well and she just had to relax and enjoy her money. She walked into the walk-in wardrobe, took off her clothes and changed into her nightwear before going back to her bed. She was just about to doze off when she remembe

He wasn't planning to tell me that he had been married before. He wanted to trap me in before he would tell me about it. So that I wouldn't be able to leave even if I wanted to” Rina said, her eyes bloodshot red as she dragged her hair more. She herself couldn't understand why she was behaving this way. She was one of the most carefree persons in the world so she found it hard to underst

CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT Daniel was in the club waiting for his friends after they had arranged for a meeting tonight. They had decided to wind off at their usual bar and he had glanced at his watch countless times. He was starting to get impatient as they had never arrived late to a meeting before. He stood up from his seat and was about to leave when he saw them coming. They had company with them and he found the face familiar. He couldn't pinpoint where exactly he had seen the face but he was certain that the face seemed familiar. “Hey” “Yo” the two of his guards greeted “ What took you so long? I was in my way out” Daniel said “Ooh, chill out bro” one of his friends said as he patted him on the back “It was all his fault, he takes time to dress like a woman. He's the reason we arrived late” “ You're a di*k man, Sorry bro, it was my fault” Jake referred his words to Owen. “Daniel” Daniel introduced himself, stretching out his hand for a handshake to Jake. CHAPTER FORTY NINE Esme had been worried about the upcoming wedding and she had tried her very best to stop the wedding but all her efforts seemed futile as he was always one step ahead of her. And Maria also gave the wedding her full support, so she could only hope on fate and time to see where it all leads. It all started when she got a call from her son about a month ago that he was coming back to the country. She had been so happy to hear that from him, as it had been long she set her eyes on him. Although they make video calls frequently, it was still not enough. He had seemed so enthusiastic about his return and she had been so happy with the news that when he didn't come back on the appointed day, she got worried. She called his home line severally but it was ringing and no one picked up the call. She called his personal line and it wasn't going through. They had tried to look for the cause if his sickness, and although they had involved many renowned doctors and physicians in their search, their search had seemed futile. “Should I call your son?” His P.A asked when the cough seemed persistent “No, don't stress him, I'll be fine” Daniel replied in between coughs. He didn't want to inform Owen of his sickness as he didn't want him to get worried over his health. This was his cross and he had to carry it alone. He had noticed this a few months before his attempted assassination and since then, it had only gone from bad to worst. “Just get me a cup of water and I'll be fine” Gabriel told the man and he left to do as he was told. Gabriel sighed. He was so close to catching the person or group of people that made an attempt on his

He signaled to his guards to take protective positions while he and his P.A walked to where the man was seated. The man stood up from his seat on sensing his arrival. He had sharp senses, Gabriel noted. “Good day sir” The man greeted and Gabriel took his hand out for a handshake which the man collected willingly. He and his P.A sat across each other, while the man sat on the other edge of the seat where he was seated. “So, what do you have for me?” Gabriel asked and the man observed his surroundings closely before he brought out a file and a PC from the bag that was under the table, which Gabriel had failed to notice until now. He placed the PC and the file on the table before going ahead to open it. He picked up a disk from the file and inserted it into the PC while Gabriel didn't take his eyes off him as he didn't want

He had received the best news of his life, Rina had called him this morning that her family house was under renovation and she needed a place to stay at the moment. Lodging at a hotel would have been her best alternative at the moment, but she didn't want to, so she had called to ask if he had an extra room. And he had agreed willingly. Since then, he has been overjoyed. He didn't know what time she was arriving so he had to make some necessary preparations before her arrival. He had called for interior designers and had arranged for a room directly opposite his. Right now, he was on his way to the kitchen to make something nice as he was still trying to impress her.
