CHAPTER SIXTY Tamara had not done to work this morning as she had some preparations to make. She was having a meeting with Owen later in the day and she needed a calm head in order to plot a twist that would be hard to decipher. Time was running and she knew she had to make a good plan in order to make sure her property comes back to her hand. Owen has gotten wiser over the years and she couldn't possibly use the first tactics she used in collecting the properties, as she was sure that it wouldn't work. She held a cup of hot coffee in her hands as she sat in the garden, sipping slowly. Her company's stocks was reducing daily and although she wasn't really doing anything much about it, she couldn't just fold hands and watch her company go bankrupt as it would be a shame to her, and it was also her most lucrative source of income. “Owen” she hummed She took a peak at the watch in her hand and she sighed. It was a few minutes past 10:00 and her meeting was by 11:00 she
CHAPTER SIXTY ONE “I'll be back before you know it” Owen told Rina as he placed a soft kiss on her forehead. They had just finished eating the meal prepared by Mia in the boys quarter’s kitchen, as theirs had been damaged already due to the fire. They had received the scolding of their life, and Mia had put the whole blame on Owen, although she knew it wasn't entirely his fault, Rina was also to be blamed, but she couldn't see herself directing her anger at her, because the young lady was just too adorable. “Babe” he called as he placed a kiss on her neckline. Rina had turned her back to him, and he found the whole thing amusing. He didn't know she was this clingy, he was new to it, and he liked this part of her. “Babe” he called again, but she didn't budge. “Hey, look at me, I'll be back before you know it, Owen cajoled and Rina turned to him, pouting her lips and Owen was tempted to laugh at the way she looked, but he held himself at the last minute “Are you sure?
CHAPTER SIXTY TWO It's been about two hours since Owen left and Rina was not settled. She had this feeling in her gut that something was wrong somewhere, and she couldn't just wipe that feeling off. She had thought of calling him, but she didn't want to sound like a clingy wife so she didn't. Owen had asked her to come with him but she had refused, and she was regretting that decision now. She paced back and forth as she held her phone in her hand, contemplating if she should call him. Mia walked into the room and she was not so surprised to see Rina there, considering what happened between she and Owen earlier today. But she had forgotten to knock and was about to apologize when she saw the uneasiness in Rina’s stance. She looked like someone who was on the verge of losing it and this made her frown. Could it be that something had gone wrong between her and Owen after her scolding? But she knew that wasn’t logical reasoning. They were both rolling in the sheets a while ago, s
CHAPTER SIXTY THREE Rina placed the phone on her ear after dialing Gabriel's number, just as she had been told to. Mia was praying silently, and at the same time, she was crying too. He picked up on the first ring, but she wasn't surprised to hear the voice of his assistant, instead of his. “Hello” the man said and Rina replied almost immediately. “Good day sir, Rina speaking” she answered and the man already knew who she was, from the voice. “Oh, your father in law is not available at the moment, is there any information you would like me to relay to him?” He asked her and Rina replied immediately, she wasn't in the mood for all these questions and answers. “Owen's been kidnapped, the Head of security asked me to contact his father” “Kidnapped? How? When? This is not good” the man said, his panic rising on the phone. “How, I don't know, When, he left here about three hours ago for a meeting with his stepmother Mrs Sinclair, and he had told me that he would b
CHAPTER SIXTY FOUR Rina's emotions were all over the place as she found it hard to concentrate with the unwanted noise in the room. Mia and the other maids were bawling their eyes out, while the few available guards were at alert, patrolling every five seconds and this irritated her. She tried to think of the people or person that might have planned and executed the kidnap, but she couldn't come up with anything. Owen had told her almost everything about himself, ever since the issue with Kate. But she didn't think he would have enemies that would be bold enough to kidnap him. She paced to and fro for a while before she got an idea. She picked up her handbag, took her phone and left the room in a hurry while Mia called after her. She had just gotten into her car when she got a call from Paul, and she knew they had an update because she had told him to inform her if anything came up. “Hello” “We found traces, we are already on our way there” Paul replied “Ook, send
CHAPTER SIXTY FIVE Owen groaned as the blow met his cheeks again. For the past few minutes, Daniel had been sending large blows straight to his face, and Owen couldn't feel his face anymore. He vowed within himself that if he managed to escape from this hellhole, he would make Daniel pay for every single thing he had done to him. Daniel had looked for a reason to hit him, and this was a perfect reason to. He had asked him questions upon questions and when he couldn't get them right, he would punish him by landing a blow on his cheeks. “I'll ask you one more time, how many countries are there in the world?” Daniel asked and Owen cursed “For fuck's sake, I am not a geographer, and neither am I a traveller. How do you expect me to know?” Owen said, his anger rising, as the pains he felt on the whole of his face was driving him crazy. He knew he just had to hang on a little and his men would be here soon, but at this moment, he felt like getting out of this straps and landi
CHAPTER SIXTY SIX Rina drove with high speed, cutting through signals and bypassing the traffic lights. She didn't use the high road, as this was rush hour, and it would slow her down. She used the streets and in no time, she was on the right lane. She met up with Owen's men halfway and she parked her car at a garage nearby and got into theirs, and they continued on their journey. She sat in the backseat with Paul, while the driver and another guard took the front seats. The partition made it hard for her to see the other guard, but she knew the driver, as she had seen him around once. “Any updates?” Rina asked Paul and he turned to look at her for a while. He maintained his gaze and when Rina saw that he wasn't answering, she cocked a brow and He cleared his throat before answering. “We've gotten the location, some of our men are already in position, but I asked them not to do anything until we arrived. We'll be there in no time. Rina nodded as she bit her bottom lip.
CHAPTER SIXTY SEVEN In no time, they arrived at an abandoned building in the outskirts of the town and from the looks of it, that place would be a perfect place for a kidnapper to hide a victim. Although it was day, the building looked dark inside. Kate and Jake parked their car at a corner to avoid being seen, as Kate wanted to avoid getting into a fight with Rina and she knew that that would be impossible if Rina was to set her eyes on her. The girl hated her guts, and the feeling was mutual, she hated hers too. They waited for a while, and when all of Rina's men had gotten into the building, they went in. The building was really big and they had bypassed all the security cameras and after going into about four different rooms without any success, they came out through the back door and that was when they saw it, the abandoned factory at the back of the building. If she were to be the kidnapper, that would be the perfect spot to hold someone hostage. It seemed like
