Chapter 25

Clara Walton felt like the world was turning against her. Her face scrunched up in anger and extreme discomfort.

It had first started with her son. Her son was arrested by immigration officers and accused of smuggling drugs into the country.

This should have been relatively easy for her esteemed husband to do. However, it had somehow begun to spiral out of control.

The public were already getting to know of this matter and her family was beginning to become the gossip of the city.

Just the previous day, she had gone for a tea party with some of her high social friends to cool off, but she ended up being indirectly humiliated.

It wasn't done to her face but her 'friends' had been whispering to each other in muffled voices. She could even recall one particular conversation that had fallen on her ears;

"Isn't that Lady Clara?" One lady asked, speaking to another lady with a glass cup of champagne.
