"What?!" Ethan was dumbfounded.
A scandal? Ethan couldn't understand why someone would do such a thing. He wasn't a popular person, so he assumed no one in their right minds would choose to mess with him in such a way.
"Let me see it." Ethan said as Andrew reluctantly gave him the tablet.
What Ethan saw shocked him. It was a hot headline on the internet about Ethan the pauper who had manipulated Sophia into marrying him while he also prevented her from seeing the love of her life, Philip. It said that she finally was able to break free of his manipulation and went to see Philip for help. Then Ethan disguised as a cleaner to get Sophia back in his control.
The information also labelled Philip as Sophia's saviour as he chased Ethan away.
Ethan's face crumpled in disgust at the ridiculous thing he had just read and he flinged the tablet onto the floor with an angry face.
In the first place, it was Sophia who had deceived and manipulated him into marriage. He never for once got to know her parents as he had been made to think that they were dead. But now that he caught her 'cheating' on him with Philip, she suddenly dumps him as she is done with keeping up the facade of a marriage.
"Do you know who did this?" Ethan asked Andrew again.
Ethan shook his head. "It was anonymously done." He replied. "But I can investigate and try to find out who did it." He offered with determination.
"No need to bother yourself with such a trivial thing." The person who did this would show themselves if they have the guts.
Ethan already guessed that it was either done by Philip or Sophia herself, but that wasn't what he was going to use to deal with them. He had once thought that Philip wasn't to be blamed for what Sophia did to him but he was now beginning to harbour resentment against him because of the scandal.
Andrew nodded his head but he still made up his mind to find the person who portrayed Ethan in such a manner to the public. He would make that person regret it even if Ethan didn't bother himself with it.
Ethan was uncomfortable about the scandal that was circulating the internet about him. It was embarrassing but he decided to take his revenge in his own way.
Ethan and Andrew moved in to discuss more important matters.

Meanwhile, in a sizable office in what seemed like an investigative company. A beautiful lady with light brown eyes and a slim frame was scrolling through the internet on her computer when she saw a disturbing topic.
It was the same headline that highlighted Ethan's scandal marriage with Sophia.
"This is a lie!" The lady spat in anger. She was very confident that the hot gist was all a ruse and a big lie. She was confident because she knew Ethan wasn't that kind of person.
She revisited the memories of Ethan that she had and reflected over his kind demeanor and meekness that was quite different from any other person she had met in her life. It was those special traits of Ethan that had made her attracted to him so she didn't believe that Ethan could do something as despicable as what was narrated on the internet.
She picked up desk telephone immediately and spoke to her her colleague at the company.
"Hey Finn, I have a favour to ask of you." She said.
"What is it that you want, Maya?" Finn asked.
"You know that new gist that's trending on the internet about that man Ethan, I want you to take it down and wipe it off the internet." She said.
"You mean the one about that manipulative man?" Finn asked for clarity.
"He's not a manipulative person!" Maya fired back without delay. She couldn't have an extra person speaking badly about Ethan.
"It's just a made up lie to tatter his image!" Maya argued with Finn.
"Woah... Sorry if I poked a nerve. I will see to your request but you know you'll owe me one for this." Finn said with a hint of greed in his voice.
"Just do it immediately. I'll compensate you." Maya said hurriedly. "And make sure that boss doesn't get to hear of this." She added.
"What do you think I am? A parrot?" Finn asked in a playfully offended tone.
"Yes, Finn." Maya replied flatly. "I still haven't been able to redeem myself after your last mess up." She reminded him.
"Oh, sorry. Bye." Finn said as he hurriedly terminated the call.
Maya was relieved that Finn had agreed to help her take down the gist. Something outrageous about the loveable Ethan shouldn't be on the internet.
And as she had expected, it didn't even take five minutes for the scandal to be wiped off the face of the internet. Seeing this, Maya smiled in relief.
"I really should see him again one of these days." Maya mumbled to herself. "But will he even recognize me? I wonder what he's doing right now..." Maya thought.
She really doubted if Ethan would remember her. It had been a few years since they last saw each other... Well, maybe for Ethan, she had seen him quite a number of times but she didn't approach him out of consideration for him and the thought that maybe he would have forgotten her.
She sighed as she leaned back in her chair and kept daydreaming about Ethan.

Meanwhile, Andrew was browsing through the internet and trying to make investigation to find out who the perpetrator behind the scandal was when he noticed that the scandal had disappeared without a trace.
"Hmm?" Andrew was confused. He didn't understand why it suddenly disappeared but it was still welcome.
"It might be the person who posted it in the first place. Don't worry, I'll get you eventually." Andrew promised under his breath.
Throughout the rest of the day, Andrew monitored the internet to make sure that there wasn't any more of such nonsense things about Ethan on the internet.
Meanwhile, Ethan was exhausted.
A lot of things had happened to him in just one day: be was fired, kicked out his house and divorced, beaten by thugs, he had been saved by his father's butler all to realise that he had a father who died as he was still speaking with Ethan. And last of all he had been painted on the internet with a scandal.
"I hope this is the end of all these terrible things..." Ethan prayed sincerely.
But it was as though life wasn't done with him yet. Little did he know what was going to cause him a lot of trouble the next day.
Geneva city was a big city which had different parts with different perks and qualities. There was a part of the city which belonged to the wealthy and influential in the city, only rich people could live there so the poor and average had no business going there for anything except as a worker. Close to the center of the area a mansion stood proudly with a wide compound. The walls of the property wasn't tall in order to show the wealth of the family that lived there. It was a well known mansion in the community. In an intricately decorated room of the mansion, Sophia was pacing about with a pensive and annoyed look on her face as she waited for her parents to arrive in the room.It was evident that she was disturbed about something and she wouldn't rest until something had been done about it. "Where the hell are they?" She asked in a flare of voice and action. The maid who was with her got quite scared and shook her head in response to signify that she had no answer. Just when So
Ethan woke up with a strange sense of incongruity. He was very tired the previous day and had slept like a baby. He took a look around the beautiful room he found himself in and it felt alien to him until the events of the previous day came pouring into his remembrance: it was as though life had treated him to a rollercoaster of conflicting highs and lows. Ethan had a strange feeling that something bad was about to happen to him again. And just as he had that thought, Andrew knocked on his door politely. "You can come in." Ethan answered. "Good morning, young master." Andrew greeted. "Good morning Mr Andrew." Ethan still found it strange that he had a new butler. Then he looked at Andrew's face and saw that Andrew looked a bit sad and was fidgeting in a kind of way. "What's the matter?" Ethan asked curiously. "It's about your sister Sylvie..." Andrew reported. "What happened to her? Did she fall sick?" Ethan asked worriedly. "She was on her way to school with Mark this mornin
Ethan received a call the moment he stepped back into the mansion. He took a look at his phone and discovered that it was an unknown and hidden caller. With a suspicious feeling that it wasn't good news, he picked up the call. "Ethan Stone, we have your sister." A nasty voice said before Ethan could even greet. "Who the hell are you?" Ethan forgot all pleasantries and asked the question that bit him in the chest the most with rage. "Who I am is not what is important." The voice replied, causing Ethan to furrow his brows. It seemed the person or people in question wanted to keep their identity a secret. "Then what is so important that you had to kidnap my sister?" Ethan asked once again while signalling to Andrew to do something. Andrew got the signal from Ethan and fervently began to do something. Ethan hoped he would be able to track the call and that was what he was trying to do as he took a laptop and started tracing the call. All Ethan has to do was stay on the call for one m
"Shit!" Andrew also cursed. It was as if the man had known that he would be tracked and he had ended the call at 59 seconds. Just a second more and Andrew would have gotten his location. Meanwhile Ethan was dumbfounded. Why did he have to do it almost naked? He realised that Sophia was meaning to drag him down to the dust and rub his face in it. "What did he say?" Andrew asked. He had been focused on tracking that he wasn't able to pay attention. So Ethan explained it to him."You can't do that, young master." Andrew vehemently declined. "Why not?" Ethan asked. "You are Ethan Astor. You must not be humiliated in such a way. Just give the order and I will make sure that your sister is found and delivered to you by the end of the day." Andrew said. He wasn't going to allow someone as prestigious as Ethan to do such a thing. Even though he had failed with tracking down Sylvie, there was still avast amount of resources that was at his disposal to get the job done safely. Ethan didn't
After watching the video over and over again as a form of entertainment. Sophia got bored of seeing Ethan's face. At some point, she noticed that the expression on his face wasn't really genuine... Or at least that's what it felt like to her. There was still some defiance she could notice in his golden eyes. Waving it off as some form of misconception, Sophia took her phone and finally called her father, Oliver Walton. "My beautiful flower..." Oliver said the moment he picked up the call. He hadn't even wasted any time in picking up her call. "That was the best breakup present ever, dad. Thank you!" Sophia said to her father. "I'm glad you like it." Oliver nodded and grinned with pride. He felt filled him with fulfillment that he had been able to please his daughter and make her happy. "I don't like it. I love it! I could watch it hundreds of times without getting bored. It feels good to see that bastard grovel and beg me. I just wish he could do it in my presence." Sophia said
"Big brother Ethan. Where's my sister?" Mark asked with a tearful tone as he spoke to Ethan over the phone. It was already the third day and he was still yet to see his younger sister being returned to him safe and sound. He had been trying to act strong until he couldn't take it any longer and called Ethan out of frustration. "Don't worry Mark. I promise you to get Sylvie back to you today." Ethan replied with a heavy heart. He felt guilty for what was happening to Sylvie and was sorry for the pain that she might be going through and also the anguish that Mark had been forced to endure. Only Mark's sobs were heard in response to Ethan's words."I'll do everything in my power to get her back to you today. Just wait for me and I will bring her." Ethan promised to reassure him. "After they made you beg they still didn't release Sylvie. It's not fair!" Mark grumbled with more sobs. Naturally, he had seen the video of Ethan apologizing to Sophie and he felt a huge guilt weigh on his c
"Tell me what happened." Oliver demanded. He was speaking to the thug that he had hired to kidnap Sylvie over the phone. "We dropped the girl at the park and called Ethan to pick her up.He came and carried her away without even a car to pick her up!" The thug said with a sneer. "Hmm, he has probably taken her back to the orphanage." Oliver mumbled. Then he ended the call. Seeing as Ethan had retrieved his younger sister safely, Mr Oliver Walton was already thinking of something else that he could do to appease his daughter and make her cozy up to him. Naturally, his target was Ethan. He picked up his phone and dialed her number. "What is it, Dad?" Sophia asked with a tone of annoyance. Oliver felt his expectations crumble. Where was the daughter that was telling him that she loved him just a few days ago?"My beautiful flower, that's no way to address your loving father..." Oliver grumbled. "I don't have time for this dad." Sophia cut him short. "Philip is sick." "Really? What
Oliver pulled all the strings of the connections that he had. He had promised his beautiful daughter Sophia that he was going to fulfil her request. He wasn't going to fail. After all, was there not a benefit to it?But Oliver soon discovered that it was easier said than done. Despite calling in favors and using every connection he had, he was unable to get Tommy released from the airport detention center. The security were giving him an unusually hard time and refused to let him go without a thorough investigation. There seemed to be something fishy. Some hours later when Oliver wasn't able to turn up with a good result, Sophia called him again. "Hold on darling. There seems to be some problem." Oliver said to his daughter. He was already getting furious but he wasn't going to be furious with his daughter. Definitely not. "What's taking so long?" she grumbled over the phone. "Just get him out of there!""It's not that simple," Oliver replied in frustration. "They're being very
