The next morning, Miles received a call from his father-in-law while he was having breakfast with his family.

“Mr. Blaine, how may I help you this fine morning.” Miles immediately put the phone on the loudspeaker after Lola asked him to do so, as she also wanted to hear her father’s voice, especially after how things ended the previous.

“Good morning, Miles. Is my daughter there? I would like to speak to her as well.” Jonathan’s voice carried hesitation, conveying how he was quite worried.

“I’m here as well, Dad. What do you want to talk to Miles and me about?” Lola spoke up while she was arranging the light food on little Kelsey’s plate.

“First of all, I would like to apologize on behalf of Fiona for the way both of you were treated at the beach party, especially you, Miles. I truly hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive her and her ignorance.”

“It’s fine, Mr. Blaine.” Miles simply nodded his head with a smile. He had no intention of dwelling on Fiona’s insults. After all

The Webber family’s primary source of income is the goods they import in and out of the city through the various forms of shipment. However, what this family doesn’t let people know is the fact that they deal in these shipments in the first place. This is because these shipments only transport goods by smuggling them in and out of Dominion City. The Webber family was not only filled with cruel people related to blood but it was also filled with criminals as well. This is their main source of wealth which they flaunt around the city oppressively while claiming their position as undisputedly second to the four prominent families in the city. Therefore, it is only natural that not many people outside of the family knew about these illegal shipments in and out of the city. Most of these goods would never be legally allowed by the city authorities. In fact, the country itself would punish whoever was caught dealing in these kinds of shipments. Yet, the Webber family had managed to keep it

Two days after Miles gave his instructions to Eden, news began to travel through the city of Dominion. People could stop themselves from talking about the Webber family.“Hey! Did you hear that intense misfortune has been falling on the Webber family for the past few days now?! It’s like all their luck has suddenly gone down the drain or something.”“Oh my goodness! I actually heard about this as well. Just less than a week ago, they had been thriving. Now, their name is currently all over the media, and none of it has been good so far. It’s quite jarring actually.”“To be honest though, I feel no remorse whatsoever for their immense loss within these few days. That family has always been nothing but trouble. They are infamous for bullying the weak as much as they want. They humiliate and step over the heads of those they feel have lesser power than them.”“Well, Karma truly is a bitch. It’s about time they got a taste of defeat. They’ve spent years flaunting their wealth and supremac

There was hesitation on the other end of the call before Dorian carefully answered. “Um, no, Young Master Miles. It has nothing to do with your father. I’m afraid I’m as in the unknown about the patriarch as you are. I’ve actually been trying to Garner any information, but I just keep hitting nothing but dead ends every time. I won’t give up though. I want you to please trust in me.”“I do,” Miles spoke with a reassuring tone in his voice. “If there is one thing about you, Butler Dorian, that I’ve never doubted, it’s your innate show of loyalty to father and to the Creek family.”“Thank you for saying that, Young Master Miles.” “Of course, it’s the truth after all.” Miles nodded as he was now gazing out the floor-to-ceiling transparent glass window behind him. “Now, I believe you have news for me.”Dorian’s voice immediately took on a professional tone, as they had to get back to business. “I wanted to let you know that the biotech company has fully been obtained and is now under you

Jonathan watched as Miles exchanged words of pleasantries with the O’Brien family before continuing his words. “These two gentlemen are actually here to propose a romantic match between Conan and Lesley.”“Oh.” Miles nodded in understanding before turning to Lesley, seated on the other side of his father-in-law. “Lesley, I have to ask. Do you have any objection to this?”Lesley was surprised at this question at first, but then her expression softened into a smile. She nodded her head sharply, and she was deeply grateful that Miles, of all people, had bothered to give her the needed chance to voice her consent. At this moment, a gorgeously dressed woman walked into the private room gallantly. “Oh my goodness! Please, tell me I’m not late. You guys couldn’t have possibly started this romantic matchup already without my presence. A couple of minutes later, Conan shared an ominous expression with his parents before he dipped his hand below the round table and retrieved a beautiful red bag.“Um, Lesley, this bag is for you. I hope you like it.” Conan handed the bag over to the young woman with a reserved smile.“Oh, um, thank you, Conan. I really didn’t expect this.” Lesley smiled at Conan, truly appreciating that he brought her a gift.Hearing this though, it inflated Conan’s ego, and he adjusted his leather jacket. “Oh, it’s nothing. The bag is just a little over $2,000. I figured that I had to give you the best to show my sincerity.”Lesley was not blind. She could definitely see the cockiness in Conan but eating its ugly head right now. She glanced at her father and Miles to find that they had also noticed the cockiness in Conan just now.“Wow, thank you.” At this point, Lesley was struggling to sound sincere, as she could tell that this was done to, once again, belittle Miles and make him feel inferior.Con

On the screen, they found three various colors of Hermes Kelly Rose Gold handbags.“Mom, what’s so special about those bags?” Conan whispered to his mother to see her reaction. Of course, he was also surprised when he initially took a look, but that was because the bag was visually stunning. It was clear to him and his father just from the physical appearance that this bag was quite unique.Laura glanced at her son before shifting her gaze to Lesley with incredulity. “Lesley, my dear. How much is each and every one of those bags?”Lesley tilted her head with a cute expression. “It’s a little over $2 million, but Miles found out that the designer was currently taking a limited number of custom-made requests for $5 million, and he decided to get three versions for me.”Laura couldn’t believe it. I heard of the $50 million that you won at the antique fair in the city. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was you. I even assumed that they were talking about a totally different man who just had the same name as you. Yet, it seems they were really talking about you.
