A couple of minutes later, Conan shared an ominous expression with his parents before he dipped his hand below the round table and retrieved a beautiful red bag.

“Um, Lesley, this bag is for you. I hope you like it.” Conan handed the bag over to the young woman with a reserved smile.

“Oh, um, thank you, Conan. I really didn’t expect this.” Lesley smiled at Conan, truly appreciating that he brought her a gift.

Hearing this though, it inflated Conan’s ego, and he adjusted his leather jacket. “Oh, it’s nothing. The bag is just a little over $2,000. I figured that I had to give you the best to show my sincerity.”

Lesley was not blind. She could definitely see the cockiness in Conan but eating its ugly head right now. She glanced at her father and Miles to find that they had also noticed the cockiness in Conan just now.

“Wow, thank you.” At this point, Lesley was struggling to sound sincere, as she could tell that this was done to, once again, belittle Miles and make him feel inferior.
