CHAPTER SIXTEEN: DEAL FOR FIONA.

Miles halted in his steps as he was heading back to his wife and daughter. "Dorian, are you trying to piss me off? Why are you suddenly talking about my dad now?" His tone relayed his mood which had now been soured at the mention of his father.

“My apologies, Young Master Miles. Please, know that it’s not my intention to make you angry.” Dorian quickly made his intention clear before he persisted on the matter. “It’s just that….I want you to know that your father has been living in utter regret ever since you left home. It was like his closest family had abandoned him. Even though he knew you were still alive, your absence in his life still left a deep wound in your father’s heart.”

Miles hated to admit it, but his heart clenched when he heard these words from Dorian. He could only imagine how much suffering his father must have gone through. This thought almost made Miles’s heart swell with guilt, but then he remembered that his father was the reason that his mother had lost her life
