At least Jacqueline was still willing to help him out. Billy really needed to repay her for everything, but first he needed to return home and confirm for himself that his wife was really cheating on him. He also needed to figure out what had happened before he died. After thinking about it, he had some idea of what it could be. However, he had to see for himself to confirm his thoughts.
"Thank you so much. I'll definitely repay you," Billy said.
His answer seemed to startle her as she stared at him with a confused expression before she said, "I'm glad to help. Let's grab the coffee before you go."
The events that followed after were just as he remembered, though there were some slight differences. It couldn't be helped considering how he had changed some things already. The fact that things were working out so closely, according to his memories, was actually quite frightening. Was it telling him there was no escaping his fate of being kiled?
Billy now stood in front of the house, staring holes into the door. Once he opened the door, he would know for sure if what he had seen was real. However, he was afraid to open it. He wanted to believe it was all a bad dream and that his insecurities were getting to him, but he feared that this wasn't the case. After taking a deep breath, he opened the door.
The sight of his wife in another man's arms again was a huge blow. However, he was softened by the fact that she wasn't in the middle of making out with the man. Billy didn't think he could bear going through it a second time. The first time had already been rough as it was.
Neither of them noticed his presence, which he assumed was because he hadn't reacted so violently this time. Last time, he had dropped all the gifts on the floor, making it impossible for anyone not to notice his presence. After several moments, his wife seemed to realize that they had an audience and looked in his direction. Her eyes widened as her jaw dropped at the sight of him.
This was a different reaction. The thought that maybe she felt something for him crossed his mind, but he knew he had to be logical about it. She was probably just shocked to see him show up when he should still be at work. If it weren't for Jacqueline, he might not have found out until it was too late. Well, it actually was.
His wife and her family had already drafted the divorce papers, so it couldn't be said to be a win. There was no way for him to know when they had them prepared. He would suspect it should have been recent since they didn't slap it in his face earlier. It might have been their plan to humiliate him before giving it to him when he returned to celebrate their anniversary.
Noticing her reaction, the man followed her gaze as he demanded, "What are you looking at?"
Dropping the gifts he brought, Billy did the one thing he had wanted to do if he proved his dreams were real. He threw a punch and socked the man in the face. The man stumbled back as he held a hand to his bleeding nose. His wife screamed as she ran to help the man. It stung watching her support another man who wasn't her husband.
Looking away from the injured man, she glared at Billy as she demanded, "What are you doing here? How dare you hit him?"
"I should be demanding who this man is and what he's doing here. Not just anyone can waltz inside and lay his hands on my wife," he calmly said as he set the gifts down on one of the nearby tables.
It was a pity, but he no longer had a use for them. Now that he was certain that his wife had been cheating on him, he felt bitter staring at the items he bought. Thinking about his intentions for the anniversary was painful to think about. It was supposed to be a happy occasion, and now he would always remember how his wife cheated on him on their wedding anniversary.
However, this wasn't the time to be worrying about them. If only he had been sent back farther. He would at least have more options to work with. Unfortunately, he couldn't waste any time on the crazy duo. While he would love to teach them a lesson for crossing him, he needed to prepare for what happened next. He was currently weaponless.
Ignoring his wife and her lover, he rushed to grab something to defend himself. As he was doing this, his wife stared at his back, wondering what he was doing. He wasn't reacting the way she had expected him to, which unnerved him. None of the servants dared to step in after what they had seen him do earlier. Watching him punch another guy was enough to shake them.
When they saw him pull out one of the kitchen knives from the kitchen, they froze with several thoughts crossing their minds. Billy knew what they were thinking as their expressions gave it away. They must think that he intended to attack and kill them. Fortunately for them, he had no interest in killing them. His current priority was to save himself.
From the corner of his eye, he swore he saw a blue flash. However, when he looked in the direction he had seen it, there was nothing there. Was he going crazy because of everything that was happening? Slapping his face with one hand, he used the pain to focus his attention and study the knife.
The weapon itself wasn't impressive, but it served its purpose. Looking back at everyone else, he could see that they wanted to know what he was up to. Unfortunately for them, they would just have to stay in the dark until he chose to reveal anything. He was still debating what was going on when they heard a commotion outside.
Billy sucked in a deep breath as his heart raced. It was time for the final check. He just needed to see if he was really going to be attacked by zombies. While he wanted to send another person to check for him, he still had his morals. He couldn't send it anyway when he knew the truth. Approaching the door, he braced himself and opened it.
This time, Billy was ready for the thing that lunged at him. Before it could tear into his face, he stabbed it right between the eyes with his knife. He grimaced as he felt blood splatter across his face. It was only a tiny amount, but it wasn't a pleasant feeling. Raising a hand to wipe some of the drops from his face, he calmly ripped his knife out of the thing in front of him.It dropped to the ground, and he finally noticed the screaming behind him. Looking back, he saw that everyone had gathered and was looking fearfully at him. They had never expected him to kill someone. That was if they could call the thing that attacked him a person. The way it was acting made him think of a zombie.Billy would have normally thought that the idea was ridiculous, but he had died and woken up in the past. He would believe anything at this point. However, this wasn't the time to be idle. Dropping down to his knees, he searched the body for any clues to what was going on. A zombie couldn't just a
"What's that?" his wife's mother demanded as she clung to her husband. There was another loud bang, causing several people to scream. Billy took the opportunity to choke the second guard into unconsciousness and deal with the first guard. The man was unprepared for the consecutive punches that Billy threw his way. He fell to the ground with a groan as Billy grimaced.Billy would have preferred to keep them both able bodied for what was about to happen. They needed more people who could actually fight, but they left him no choice. The banging was nonstop as everyone backed away from the door. It looked like no one was dumb enough to open the door after what happened earlier. Good. It would buy them some extra time.Taking the tasers and batons that the guards stupidly didn't use against him, he debated for a moment. After thinking about it, he tossed one of the tasers at his wife, who nearly dropped it. She stared at it before holding it close to her chest. He threw one of the batons a
Billy took a moment to catch his breath after ripping his knife free from the zombie's neck. Observing his surroundings, he could scarcely believe that they had survived the encounter in one piece. Well, not everyone had. The number of people that had survived was but a small fraction of how many there had been to begin with.Of course, he couldn't say for sure that there were no other survivors in the other parts of the building. There was no way to tell unless he searched everywhere. For now, he needed to focus on the survivors that were nearby. The only people left in the vicinity were himself, his wife, and her parents. It wasn't surprising since he had worked hard to protect them from the zombies. He winced at the throbbing pain in his shoulder. Glancing down at his shoulder, he grimaced at the long marks that ran down his arm. A zombie had gotten lucky and managed to claw at his arm. Of course, he got back at the zombie by bashing its head in with his baton before stabbing it re
Billy gasped as he felt up his chest. The piece of metal that had torn right through his lung was no longer there. In fact, his clothes were clean as a whistle, and the aches and pains he felt from fighting the zombies weren't there. He did feel some phantom pains, but he could tell that his body was fine. That's when he realized how silent it was. Taking a look at his surroundings, he saw that everyone was looking at him with wierded out expressions. Well, it wasn't surprising since he suddenly frantically checked his body for injuries. Anyone would be confused and a bit disturbed by what they were seeing. Even the manager was stunned and speechless.Lowering his arms, he calmly asked, "Is there something you need, sir?"The manager snapped out of it and demanded, "Get me a coffee."It wasn't the exact same words, but they were close enough. As soon as the manager said this, Billy was immediately swarmed with requests. By this point, he should be caving in and accepting their demands
Billy's first instinct was to tell her no. She shouldn't get involved. in his problems. It wasn't any of her business, but that wasn't the case anymore. He had brought her into his affairs the moment he told her everything. That was the plan, after all. The hangup was only because he was used to refusing to let other people get involved in his issues."It's good to have you," he said with a nod.Jacqueline squinted at him as she said, "I would have thought you would tell me not to get involved.""If that was the plan, I wouldn't have told you anything," he dryly said."That makes sense, so what now? Do you have a plan?" she asked as she crossed her arms."With the zombie apocalypse happening not long from now, we need to prepare ourselves. Everything I own is back at my house, so I need to go get them," he said as he started walking again. She followed after him and asked, "Are you sure you can't get them later? I don't mean to be disrespectful, but what do you have that is so importa
"What's going on here?" his wife's father demanded as he looked between the two groups. Not a second later, his wife's mother pointed at him as she said, "Could you have cheated on our daughter?""How dare you!" his wife's father snarled as he stormed up to Billy.Billy didn't react as the man grabbed him by the collar. There was a spark of annoyance that they were so quick to think he was a cheater. He had been completely faithful to his wife. There hadn't been a single moment where he looked at another woman. Jacqueline was proof that he would choose his wife first. Well, he would have."Answer me," his wife's father demanded. "I should have known that you weren't good for my daughter. I should have never allowed you to marry her."While Billy could let the man continue to rant, they were short on time. Without saying a word, he grabbed the arm, grabbed onto his collar, and pulled it off. His wife's father stared in shock. Whether it was because he was shocked by Billy's strength or
Billy was quick to react and pulled out the gun he had hidden in his pants and fired at the incoming zombies. He managed to make two headshots when something suddenly crashed into his side. Thinking it was a zombie, he was prepared to shoot, only to realize it was his wife's mother. Luckily, he stopped himself in time, or else he would have wasted a bullet."You knew about this, didn't you? That's why you were trying to run away. How dare you bring your mess onto this family," she said as she continued to hit his side.He grimaced as he tried to get the hysterical woman to let him go. Jacqueline was quick to join his side and try to pry the woman off of him. As Jacqueline tried to remove her, she wondered how many screws were loose in this entire family. No one sane would automatically think Billy was responsible for the zombie apocalypse. There was no way he could do something like that. While the three were trying to get out of the mess they were in, everyone else was panicking. Deb
"What do we do now?" Jacqueline asked as she jumped over a corpse."The first thing is getting out of the house before we can't escape," Billy said as he struck a nearby zombie with his baton.Billy hadn't put much force behind the blow, so the zombie was only momentarily stunned. He was more focused on escaping and didn't want to waste his time killing every single zombie they encountered. In his last life, he had done that, and look at where it got him. No, this time he was going to leave those still around to deal with them themselves.Jacqueline's broom broke after she struck another zombie, and she stared at it for a few moments before throwing it away. "How do we do that?Considering his options, he said, "We can try one of the other doors and head for the rooftop.""Are those the only options?" she asked hesitantly. Before he could answer, a zombie suddenly lunged at them. The duo dodged to the sides to avoid it. Billy quickly brought the baton down on his head. Jacqueline, on
