65. The Magic Potion

Luis almost dropped the broom he was holding. Some time ago, he had finished cleaning the windows to eavesdrop on the conversation between Warrick and Clive.

No one would suspect him even if he swept close to Clive's room since he was a janitor.

Besides, he was quiet when he stepped so Warrick would not be disturbed by him. But somehow, Warrick could tell his whereabouts and intentions.

Inside the room, Clive was confused by Warrick's words. "The one outside is just the janitor. I hired him because he needed money for his sick granddaughter. His son is dead, so he's in charge."

Luis was relieved that Clive did not suspect him. Before applying for the job, he had faked his identity and paid a young girl to pretend to be his granddaughter.

During the interview, Clive saw Luis with his fake granddaughter and sympathized. That's how Luis ended up as a janitor for his office.

"I met his granddaughter. Don't think badly of him. He's just an old man working for the people he loves."
