Chapter 40- The Silent And Slow Impact Of The Ancient Treasure Palaces

Ancient Treasure Palaces.

For any disciples who enter the Yellow Leaf Valley's Lesser Pocket Realm, they have all heard of this name before.

Within the competitions that are held in the sects and clans, those young elites have risked life and limb for a chance to enter this Pocket Realm and stand before one of those Ancient Treasure Palaces.

If they were able to, then they might have a chance to gain heavenly weapons that they could give to their sect in exchange for an enormous amount of cultivation resources.

The competition for resources within the sects and clans was always fierce, but if they could get access to that enormous amount of cultivation resources, then they could increase their cultivation by leaps and bounds.

However, their desire for heavenly weapons was actually secondary. What they really wanted more than anything, was to receive an ancient cultivation method.

It was said that in all the years the Wu Clan ruled over this continent and even the rulers before them, there had only ever been seven recorded ancient cultivation methods that were given out.

And for the person's in the know, all those ancient cultivation methods were the current seven Legacy Techniques of the Wu Clan.

However, that information was actually inaccurate.

The number of techniques that were discovered in the Ancient Palaces was countless. People only remember those seven cultivation methods because of all the buzz they caused when they first appeared.

As a matter of fact, the countless cultivation methods and Daoist Magic that were retrieved by disciples in the Lesser Pocket Realms over the years, have actually become the foundation that spawned most of the current sects and clans on the Wu Continent.

And that's not only on the Wu Continent, the Xingyun Dynasty had a Greater Pocket Realm and their four Legacy Techniques had come from it.

Some historians even speculated that all the high-level, and even the low-level techniques used by the current cultivators on planet Daiyu, had originated from either the three Lesser Pocket Realms on the Wu Clan or the Greater Pocket Realm on the Central Continent.

When these speculations first came out people had refused to believe them as they were too ridiculous, but when the evidence was shown to them that the techniques used now could be traced back to one or two techniques found in the Pocket Realms, they had no choice but to consider that it was possible.

Over the years, numerous techniques have been brought back from the Pocket Realms, and from those, other techniques were derived. Thus making all the techniques used by the current generation of cultivators being connected to the Pocket Realms.

So one can see why the young elites place so much importance on gaining an ancient cultivation method, or Daoist Magic from the Ancient Treasure Palace.

If they got one that could rival or even surpass the current Legacy Techniques of the major powers, they could gain enough power to dominate their generation and have their names carved into the history books, becoming legends for years to come.

Those dreams might be outlandish or far-fetched, but they could gain a Heaven-Grade technique that would make those dreams closer to achieving.

But the chance of a Heaven-Grade cultivation appearing was near to impossible.

In all the years, several heavenly prodigies have entered the Pocket Realm but none of them had been deemed qualified by the Ancient Treasure Palace to receive a Heaven-Grade technique.

Some people even say that the reason why no disciples have been able to receive a Heaven-Grade technique was that the Ancient Treasure Palace had none...

The Ancient Treasure Palace resembled a tower with numerous floors that rose to the heavens. Upon seeing such a gigantic structure, anyone would become stunned.

And what would stun them even more, was the fact that it was made entirely out of superior-grade spirit stones!!

One should know that in the outside world, a fist-size superior-grade spirit stone was enough to buy an entire city!!

The fact that this Palace was made entirely out of superior-grade spirit stone was mind-boggling. Anyone who saw it for the first time would go wide-eyed, before trying to scrape off a grain of it.

It was just that valuable.

However, aside from being extremely valuable, it was also unfortunately extremely durable. Even Nirvana realm cultivators would struggle to leave a mark on a fist size amount, much less Core Formation disciples trying to scratch some off of this humongous Palace made from it.

At the base of the Ancient Treasure Palace, was a circular marker that went all around it. The marker was about a thousand meters away from the base of the Ancient Treasure Palace.

In front of the Ancient Treasure Palace, several dozens of young elites could be seen within the marker, sitting in a cross-legged position in meditation.

Three disciples within that group had ten meters of the area around them clear of other disciples.

Outside of the marker, another hundred or so people were gathered looking on at all the disciples sitting inside.

All of a sudden, a bright golden light appeared from the fourth floor of the Ancient Treasure Palace. Afterward, a beam of golden light shot down towards one of the three disciples that had the space clearing around them.

That disciple was a youth that looked unremarkable at a first glance and was even on the skinny side. However, if someone took a closer look at him, they would sense a rather tyrannical aura emanating from his body.

Along with his tattered clothes, he resembled an unruly barbarian.

The golden beam came to a stop just short of a foot in front of him.

Within this golden light was a jade-green halberd that gave off an immense amount of pressure. The blade at its top was around four meters wide, with its shaft being around eight meters long.

The rather large halberd looked like it was meant for a miniature giant.

The youth opened his eyes and stared at the jade-green halberd. Without wasting any time, he sent out his Spiritual Sense and placed his spiritual imprint onto it, effectively binding it to him.

After that was complete, the golden aura surrounding the halberd faded away. The pressure of the halberd that was being kept in check, was now able to spread out unrestrained.

The sheer pressure the halberd released caused the surrounding air to twist and warp, however, the pressure did not affect the youth as he easily clasped its shaft with his hand.

Despite the halberd weighing hundreds of pounds, the youth still freely swung it around like it was a feather.

The disciples outside the marker, who saw the halberd in the youth's hand began to cry out in surprise.

"That's a supreme grade treasure!! Shen Long was actually able to receive a supreme grade treasure!!"

Another disciple shouted, "No wonder he was given the title of the strongest Core Formation disciple in his sect. His talent is just too astounding, just look at how he was the first to assimilate with the Ancient Treasure Palace and had even gotten a supreme-grade treasure!"

"It's even an exact fit for his Tyrannical Demon God Body cultivation, what amazing luck!" Someone who was more observant said.

As the crowd of disciples become noisy with commotion, they suddenly saw another golden glow on the Ancient Treasure Palace's fourth floor.

Slightly stunned, they all watched as a golden beam headed for another one of the large clearings several meters away.

The person within that clearing, that the beam was headed for, was a young girl.

This young girl was extremely beautiful with all the right features and proportions. Her skin-tight clothing further outlined her curves, causing all the boys who looked at her to drool with desire.

The golden beam stop in front of her and like the previous youth, she placed her spiritual imprint onto the item inside.

After the golden glow vanished, everyone saw what the item inside was.

The 'items' were two pairs of circular white disks.

All the disciples who were looking on in anticipation suddenly sported disappointed expressions on their faces.

They didn't sense any pressure from the item, and they didn't look that remarkable, so they all thought that she had received a defective magic treasure.
