Natasha frowned upon hearing the sound. She then forced a stiff smile at Elena, who was now facing her.

"M-Mama," Natasha stammered.

Elena walked past Natasha and chose to sit in a chair.

"Sit."

Upon hearing that, Natasha quickly sat as per her mother Gerald's command.

Elena cleared her throat before continuing the conversation.

"Did you also hear that someone is looking into your sibling's whereabouts?"

Natasha was surprised by Elena's question. She didn't expect the middle-aged woman to be aware of this news.

"Yes, Mom," Natasha answered softly, looking down out of fear.

Natasha had thought that Elena wouldn't know about this news so quickly because, to her knowledge, Elena was busy taking care of her sick husband.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Elena asked softly.

Seeing Natasha's hesitation, Elena spoke up. "Your father is already asleep in the room. Hurry, tell me," Elena said, understanding Natasha's concerns.
