Meanwhile, at the other side of the hotel, Sophie was furious at Victor, her boyfriend. All she wanted was to be the owner of St Louis hotel and show that silly man that she was way better than him but now, someone already got the hotel.

“Baby, I promise you that I will get more for you” Victor said, while trying to pacify her while she frowned.

“More for me? What the hell are you talking about? This is what I want! You promised to get it for me and now, someone else already got it!”

“The money I was expecting was…”

“Forget it! Not like I am important to you anyway. I am your side chick after all!” She said in anger.

Victor scuffed. Didn't she know this before she threw herself cheaply at him? He thought again..

“But I am doing everything possible to make sure that you be in the spotlight as my wife. And I will always get more for you” He said and carcassed her hands softly.

“I wanted to show that loser that I am doing far better than the 1 dollars he gives me every week” Sophie snapped.

“You have already shown him enough” Victor said.

But still, Sophie wasn't settled. While she tried to end things with that loser, he said she would definitely regret not being with him again.

“and you don't have to think about that loser anymore. He can't even afford the meals you eat in a day. Do you want me to find out whom the owner of the hotel is?” The man asked while she shook her head.

Come to think of it, it was said that people had try to buy the hotel but it seemed too expensive and now, someone bought it? The person must really be wealthy. Could it be one of those second generation kids? She thought.

If she asked her boyfriend to check for her, it wouldn't speak so well. Instead, she decided that she would find out by all means.

“Didn't you tell me you have a party soon? Don't you think that we should get to the venue?” Victor asked while she nodded and smiled.

Victor was wealthy also. She wasn't ready to be a housewife. Instead, she decided that she would continue to milk him dry while she decided to find out whom the new owner of St Louis hotel was.

“This alone seems technical enough” Alec said, feeling exhausted already. He had not read up to five pages on how the finances of the company was run and he seemed like he was going crazy. From the finances of the maintenance of the receptionist to the finances of each staff which was each under a segment to another cost and maintenance of each rooms to the swimming pools and foods. He couldn't read past!

“Should we send in some financial team members to read through and explain to you, sir?” Harrison asked while Alec shook his head.

“Just run the business as it used to in the past. When there are loopholes, let me know.” Alec said while the man lowered his head. According to the female staff he had interviewed earlier, he heard that Harrison was a man that seemed trustworthy enough. In other for him to see things for himself, Alec decided that he would leave him for a while and he runs the affairs.

Soon after, the document as the sole owner of the hotel was brought to him. Having signed, Alec was about to leave when Harrison spoke up.

“There is an invitation that has been sent to the owner of the hotel from a week now but we couldn't have it delivered since the owner already died” Harrison said.

Alec nodded and opened the card to check out the invitation. Then, he burst out in laughter.

What exactly can money not do? He thought and muttered the words out … “An invitation to the reunion party of Flourish College ‘“22 set”.

This was his set but because he was poor, they looked down on him and didn't send him a card. He didn't know if his girlfriend got one but they told him he never deserved it and even when his friends had helped him get one, Alec had to spend some amount of money to get it. He never had it and didn't seem to care about it. Then, all that mattered to him was Sophie.

Now, he would show them the stuff he was really made of.

“It's today?”

“Yes, sir. The planner had decided to invite some top wealthy men in the city and that is why you have it”

Alec nodded.

“I'll see you later.” He said and left for the party in his car.

The drive to the party didn't take long. In fact, it was a stone throw from his hotel to the hotel where the party took place. Even though the hotel seemed sleek, Alec could not deny that his five star hotel was still the best.

As soon as he got there, few eyes dawned on him. In fact, this time around, no one exactly knew that he was the owner of the car that some people were already talking about outside. That was because these people weren't there when he packed his car.

Victor, the HR's husband tapped his girlfriend as she chatted with other guests. She didn't know what was going on.

Some were surprised that she did not come with her boyfriend they knew her with and some were surprised to see her with the man who was one of the solid donators to see that the event became a success.

“Alec is around” Victor said. Sophie became so angry as she turned around.

“This is annoying” She said in fury.

“Relax, babe. After all, you are no more with him, right?” Victor said.

“Everyone here knew that we dated and are probably dating. What if he followed me here because he wants to beg me? I'm sick and tired of that man!”
