Episode 13 : Eventually

Cassandra dashes into Rex's room and his two roommates attend to her. Emilio won't stop pacing about.

" Have you given Sheila a call? " Gael asked him but he shook his head. " Will you get yourself together and give her a call? "

Emilio only responded by making the call. He briefs Sheila about Rex's health and the next second the door opens.

Emilio was stunned to see the blond lady standing at the entrance. He dropped his hand and pocketed his cell phone.

" Pretty fast " He mutters to her and she responded.

" Was around the resident block. What the heck happens to him? "

" Collapse with bleeding from the ears " Emilio mutters in response. He has gone to the window for fresh air while Cassandra attends to Rex.

Gael was there to help her out and Sheila join as well. After some time the nurse stood up and sigh.

She packed her bag and turn to the three Friends, Gael, Emilio, and Sheila who were awaiting her instructions.

" You should let him rest. Can't he stay in bed throughout tomorrow? "

" No Nurse Cassandra " Gael responded gently. " Tomorrow is the final competition. Everyone will be here to watch Rex perform "

" In that case, you should give him his pills at night after he took his dinner "

" Thanks, Nurse. We will do just that " Emilio assured her. The nurse finally left, leaving everyone.

After a long time of silence, Gael said.

" How about we cook him a meal before he wakes up? "

" Good suggestion. Can I help out? " Sheila asked but at that moment her cell phone rang out.

She answered it and after an uh and uh uh she disconnected and sigh.

" That's my mum. I think...I gotta go "

" Sure. Rex will be fine. He's in good hands " Emilio assured her and she nodded.

She took a step towards the exit but then stop at the entrance and whirled around. Her eyes were on Gael.

" No scolding anyone Gael and you too Emilio. Rex is passing through a lot. He will need you guys understanding "

The two friends didn't reply. They could only nod. Sheila finally left and Gael enters their kitchen.

Thanks to Rex's lavishing, their kitchen and refrigerator are stuffed up so fully.

Emilio cared for Rex for some time. He draped over his body bed coverlet and goes into the kitchen to help out.

The two friends make Rex's best food and before they wrap things up and set the table, it's alright nightfall.

Rex finally woke up thanks to the aroma in the air and the knock on their door.

" Who is the guest? Is anyone expecting a guest? " Emilio asked no one in particular so he received no response.

He goes to answer the door and he met Pearl in the doorway. He was surprised at her presence but let her in.

Pearl walks towards Rex who was just sitting up from his bed tiredly. When the young Octillionaire saw his ex-girlfriend he frown slightly.

" Rex, I'm here to see you. I heard you passed out in the Juvenile Hall hours ago "

To Pearl's awe Rex didn't reply to her. Instead, he raised his voice to his two roommates who were busy in the kitchen, still.

" Who the hell let her in? "

" It's Emilio " Gael responded. They both walk out to see what's going on. " Your dinner is ready Rex. How do you feel? "

No one pays Pearl any attention and that stunned her. In the past Emilio and Gael are always so accommodating.

" I woke up fine but not anymore after seeing a cheater in my abode "

" Well the cheater should be tossed out before she breaks another person's heart " Emilio replied sarcastically.

" I would advise you to leave the cheater alone. She'd leave once no one pays her any attention. Has Sheila been here? I guess yes " Rex asked as he stood up.

His slightly built upper body is revealed and he goes to the bathroom.

When he returns Pearl had left in anger. He cares not anymore. He goes to the dining table and sat before the steamy meals before him.

" It's my favorite " She grinned and his friends nodded.

" Specially made for you "

Rex took his spoon and began to dig in. He slowly looks up to see the two waiting for his invitation.

In a low tone, he chuckled heartily and then signal them to come over.

" My appetite is lost after Pearl's Presence. I don't know guys...I mean, I love her but now I felt so much hatred for her "

" It happens Rex " Gael replied mouthful. " She cheated on for three years "

" I think she wants you back and..."

" Hell Emilio. I would rather be single all my life " Rex gritted his teeth and said tightly " Khalil slept with her "

" Wooo " The two exclaimed in awe. " She's gone then. No second chance "

The three Friends have a great dinner together which was accompanied by laughter.

At last, Rex took his drugs and goes to train for a short time. Tomorrow is the biggest day. He has to win.

The morning sun shines brightly from the window and Rex struggles to get up from his bed.

He feels very sick. All his muscles refused to support him as before and the clock ticking came through.

Tick. Tick. Tick.

" Daily challenge. The sum of Twenty million dollars should be spent before the day ends. You got hours left to complete your daily task. Tick. Tick. Tick. "

Rex managed to rise. He look around to see his friends weren't in the room.

Just then the door burst open and his roommates rush in. They began to rant about the crowd and competition.

"Your pictures are all over the school Rex. Rainbow Core College's banner has been altered to your image " Emilio announced happily.

" I feel like going crazy with excitement. My own best friend is the face of RCC at last! " Gael declared but Emilio glare at him playfully.

" He's my best..." His words and their jubilation were put to a stop when Rex fell to the floor and began to wheeze.

Swiftly they got to him and saw he is coughing out blood.

" Oh, my God! Oh my... Gael something is wrong with him " Emilio yelled out in panic.

" Get his drugs. The one nurse Cassandra provided. Now! "

Emilio dashes to bring the pills and they open the box but then Gael stopped abruptly.

He saw the pillbox has another logo on the lid.

" Emilio, have you ever seen the school provide anything without adding the logo ' RCC '? " Gael asked calmly and Emilio frowned.

" Never. Rainbow Core College takes pride in its initial tag name. RCC is in everything we got in the school. Bags, sneakers, books, buildings, and pillboxes as well. Etc "

" Then explain to me why this pillbox has the initial tag name that is different from RCC "

Emilio slowly saw the logo and he went white completely.

" Nurse Cassandra must have been ordered to completely kill Rex. The drugs make him weak "

All this while Rex was listening to their Words. He knows he is Finally done.

He couldn't even lift a limb and the competition is just few hours time. Khalil Karson won this time. He managed to get Rex Louie on his knees, eventually.
