I breathe in calmly, trying to recollect myself.

“That was scary, but, good job!” The man gives me thumb up.

“Aren’t the elevators broken?” I frown as I look at the numbers.

“The VIP elevator is solely operated by the top Connector. So even though the others are disabled, if you have the access card, you can use it!” The man explained excitedly.

“Why didn’t anyone tell me that? If I knew, I would’ve used it.” I mutter in annoyance.

The man chuckles. “Well, your friend might not have known that either.”

True. I remember the female cadet only saying it’s for level 1 worker, and the only information I can remember about that card is that it’s a key item for the last Connector. An executive might have given it to a cadet in hope that it would be useful for the rescue, and thankfully it is.

‘Why did I not think about it?’ I curse myself for my obliviousness. But I decide to get past it. At least we have a mean to go upstairs without having to deal with monsters.
