7 - Declined for shopping

The next day Sahan got up to prepare for the meeting with Lind's family. A butler came inside the room to inform that everything was prepared. Sahan had everything set properly to assure that a heavy sum would be invested in the business. He was certain that everything would go according to his plan and at the right moment he would coldly butcher them all.

Sahan walked towards the bathroom, took a very long time to shower, planning and imagining how their cunning faces would change upon knowing everything. Sahan began admiring how he missed the luxurious and exquisite lifestyle, all that for just a woman who did not even love him. After taking his long shower, he draped a white bathrobe around his body and headed towards the wardrobe.

“Why there is no fucking expensive suit from any collection? You want me to wear these outdated rags? Me!?” Sahan yelled at the butler who was still standing there in the doorsteps and stood calm despite all the shouting. “Pardon me, young master. I shall get you the latest suits from every existing brand.” The butler was about to leave when he stopped him and took out a pair of jeans and shirt from the bag he had picked up from the Lind’s.

“I want to shop for myself. Get the garage open!” Sahan entered the elevator and the butler input a floor number before pressing the close button. The elevator started descending and moved downwards for about a few minutes before stopping. The butler opened the door and stepped aside, waiting for Sahan to exit the elevator first. He knew that the butler was the epitome of professionalism, trained to serve for the Zaydel family.

At a single glance, anyone could count over 50 cars, and they were all made from different known and expensive automobile companies. There were various Rolls-Royce cars, Bentleys, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bugattis, Porsche, Koeniggseggs and Limousines. Luxury and money display in one place under a single roof! What else would one expect from the Zaydel family who could own them without spending a huge chunk of their money.

Sahan walked towards a Bugatti and commanded the driver, who had arrived already. As each vehicle had a different man, after all why not when you can afford it. “To the Grace mall.” He knew that now in order to claim the position as the heir, Sahan needed to dress like one. He settled in the car which stopped at the mall and he marched towards the most expensive brand.

As soon as he entered the brand a junior sales woman immediately stopped him. “How may I help you?” She omitted the professional mannerism which made Sahan angry.  “Yes, I am here to shop. Now if you step aside, please.” He sounded intimidating that made the woman stagger and step aside and he walked inside.

Jenny and Danny on the other hand were also as shocked as Sahan when he headed inside. They didn’t expect to run into Sahan in a place like that which reeked luxury from everything. How could he even afford all that? Danny had taken Jenny out to spoil her with luxurious gifts as she had already scored him around her pinky. He had already bought plenty of presents for her and wanted to get a few more branded outfits before they could end their date.

However, they did not expect Sahan to be here as well. Slowly, the expression of an utter mock appeared on Jenny’s face and turned into anger. She was instantly irritated when she saw Sahan and assumed that he might try to ruin things with Danny. “You!” Her words appeared loud while gritting teeth, as they stood in the gents section of clothing.

Danny was feeling mixed emotions of jealousy regarding Jenny with anger, at the sight of Sahan. “What the hell are you doing here?” Jenny asked with anger evident in her tone. “Hah! Are you here to mop the floors because you clearly cannot afford shopping here?” She mocked Sahan while slipping her arm into Danny’s as if she was trying to boast about having him.

Sahan felt his heart tug painfully when he heard the tone with which Jenny questioned him. She certainly wasn’t the Jenny he knew and dated for so much time. He never knew that a person could change to such an extent because of money. Only if she had known that Sahan could potentially destroy Danny Carter in one hour.

“I asked you a question. Answer me! What are you doing here?” Jenny yelled again while questioning her, she didn’t know why, but she was very agitated when she saw Sahan. Jenny perhaps felt the fear that there were things which if he told Danny then he might leave her.

Sahan sighed heavily, taking his nose tip in between his fingers, before answering her. “Well, aren’t you too bold and loud for someone who also cannot afford this brand? Of course, this cheap stake is filling your greed. And I am not obliged to tell you everything now, am I?” Sahan mocked her back with the accurate words.

“What problem exactly do you have with me being here? It isn’t like Danny owns this place where you can throw your petty tantrums.” Sahan stated coldly while insulting Danny Carter. Although Sahan was clearly hurt when he saw both of them together, he didn’t want to waste any time indulging with them. He just wanted to shop and leave faster, after all Jenny was preparing fancy to meet the Zaydel heir. And Sahan needed to get out of there faster for that.

Jenny had an angry expression on her face as she didn’t like the way Sahan was responding to her in a rude and cold tone. She was about to give her reply when Sahan’s eyes caught the sight of the multiple shopping bags in Danny’s hands. “Oh, so you are leaching this guy for now.” He mocked while crossing his arms. It was the moment when Danny gritted and responded to Sahan.

“Oh? Don’t tell me you’re here to purchase some clothes.” Danny spoke mockingly, with a vicious expression creased over his face. Sahan didn’t like his mocking tone but he also knew that this time he had to slap him back in the face. A smirk appeared over his face and Sahan knew what he had to do next.

“Oh, please excuse me.” Sahan spoke with a sly expression as he didn’t want to waste anymore time talking to them rather than taking action. Besides, people shopping in the store were already beginning to pay attention to them to collect the gossip. There was an audible murmur and now Sahan had to prove himself right. The matter had escalated and now his reputation was at risk.

“Don’t go anywhere with your lying broke ass!” Jenny shouted at him as Sahan moved away to look at some suits. She too had noticed that people were beginning to take notice of their squabble. So, Jenny wanted to mould the golden opportunity to degrade Sahan as much as possible. At the same time she could twist the situation into Danny liking her more for taking his side.

“Please pack these suits for me. I’ll pay for them immediately! And card please.” Sahan spoke when he had selected a few seven pieces. His tone was intimidating when he spoke to the sales lady. He was going to show both Jenny and Danny Carter what he was made of! It was the moment when Jenny shouted at the sales lady in a commanding manner.

“I suggest you call the security and throw him out. He might be here to steal these blatantly instead of paying for them after all. I mean look at him for once. Does he even look like someone who could shop here?” She spoke while snarling, whereas Danny stood there smirking with his hands filled with the bags he had been carrying. It seemed he truly had been wrapped around Jenny’s pinky and had become her bitch.

“Please proceed with this gentleman’s request. I would like to see him pay for it. But I can assure you that this person here is just here to waste your time.”Danny butted in as he was greatly enjoying the little drama. He wished to ridicule Sahan even more to make himself appear more desirable for Jenny.

The sales lady examined all the chosen suits neatly before scanning the price for all of them.“The total cost of the outfits is $780,000.” Sahan didn’t care about the price. Even if it was twice the existing bill, he would have paid for it without hesitation. He wanted to show Jenny that he was no longer the previous person she had known and dumped.

Everyone waited to see the light over the scanner when Sahan handed over the card. The machine’s light turned red. The sales lady looked at him while handing back the card. “Sorry, sir.  But the transaction was declined. However, being today’s 100th customer your outfits are free. Congratulations!” The words made a loud laughter burst into the store, making Sahan speechless over the whole decline.
