The bustling mall was filled with shoppers enjoying their day when their gazes shifted to Sahan. Sahan had confidently approached the cashier at that trendy clothing store with a stack of clothes in his hands. He handed over his credit card, expecting a smooth transaction but the declining and on the top of that being 100th customer for free shopping was an utter insult.
Sahan's eyes widened, and a wave of disbelief washed over him. He blinked once more, as if trying to comprehend the situation. The cashier exchanged an awkward glance with the person behind Sahan, who suppressed a chuckle. Danny and Jenny were enjoying the whole situation which coincidentally was in their favour. Sahan had made a fool out of himself with that much shopping.
Sahan was trying to remain composed when he asked the cashier once more time. Danny and Jenny had been filming him by that time and Sahan knew that this time it would be worse. He was not an ordinary man now but a freaking Zaydel family’s heir and he could not afford to be ridiculed in the news.
“Uh, could you try it again? There must be some mistake.” The cashier swiped the card again, but the result was the same, declined. The cashier returned the card and started to pack the stuff as the free gift. “I'm sorry, sir. It's still not going through. But no worries, I shall pack your stuff. Thank you for shopping here!”
Sahan's face flushed red with embarrassment. He glanced around, noticing the growing line behind him and the amused expressions on the faces of other shoppers. Muffled laughter started to echo in the background when Danny seized the opportunity to tease him even more. “Looks like someone's maxed out their card! Or perhaps stole it and now the owner blocked it.” He mocked, knowing that the Sahan he knew could never own a card at all so it must be stolen.
Jenny could not stay behind and called out to him teasingly. “Maybe you should switch to window shopping. Because possessing clothing from here in real life is beyond your pathetic status, Sahan.” Sahan's shock turned into a mix of frustration and humiliation. He fumbled through his wallet, hoping to find another card which was given to him by Mark.
Sahan spoke nervously and began rummaging. “Just give me a moment. I have another card here somewhere.” The laughter around him intensified, and Sahan's cheeks burnt with embarrassment. A group of teenagers nearby share sly glances, clearly enjoying the spectacle.
Sahan could not manage to find another card in time, when the cashier handed over the bags. “I am sorry, sir. I have no time to run another bill for the same customer. Here are the clothes. Good day!” Reluctantly Sahan grabbed his bag of clothes, avoiding eye contact with the judgmental gazes around him. As he walked away, he could still hear the laughter echoing through the mall, leaving him with a lingering sense of shame.
Sahan entered his room and threw all the bags on the bed, the weight of the embarrassing incident still lingered in his mind. He tossed the shopping bag onto the bed once more time in anger and slumped onto a chair, running a hand through his hair in frustration. The echo of laughter from the mall continued to play in his mind. He could not bear the insult head suffered due to Danny and Jenny being there including the videos they had clicked.
Sahan continued to talk to himself when he fished out the card to look at it. “How could this happen? This is so embarrassing. There must be some glitch in the transactions.” Just then, the door swung open, and Mark, Sahan's right-hand man and close friend, entered with a determined look on his face. He was appointed to assist in things so Sahan could have access to everything smoothly.
Mark knew he had been having issues in doing things, he glanced at Sahan sympathetically while speaking to him. “Rough day, boss? How did shopping go?” Sahan shot him a glare, clearly not in the mood for jokes. Mark had already gotten the notification for the bounced transaction and could guess what might have happened. He spoke sincerely. “There was a glitch in the system, and it affected a bunch of cards at the mall today. The card itself has no issues, young master.”
Sahan's eyes widened in disbelief. How worse his luck could be? Did all that was supposed to happen at that time? How come bad luck followed him there? “A glitch? Are you serious?” He got annoyed upon hearing that while raking through his hair.
Mark nodded immediately and explained the situation ahead. “Dead serious. Your card wasn't the only one, young master. It happened to a lot of people after your transaction was declined. Rest customers had to go empty handed.” Relief washed over Sahan's face, and he leaned back in his chair, exhaling a long breath. “Well, that explains it. I thought it was only my card.” He was sure that Danny’s card would be declined too, hence saving his face.
Mark bowed while he moved ahead. He handed Sahan a new credit card, neatly encased in a sleek black envelope. He took out the card cheerfully. ‘I took the liberty of sorting out a replacement. Activated and ready to roll.” Sahan took the card, a grateful smile breaking through the remnants of his earlier embarrassment.
Sahan glanced at him with a grin and nodded. “Thanks, Mark. You are a lifesaver.” Whereas Mark was only fulfilling his duties and simply smiled at him. “That's what I'm here for, boss. Now, let's shake off this bad day. You have got a whole wardrobe waiting for you in that bag.”
Sahan grinned realising that he can salvage the day after all. He shot up from the sofa and headed towards the shopping bag, ready to put the embarrassing incident behind him and focus on the new clothes waiting to be worn. After all, his meeting with Jenny Lind was due soon!
Jenny strode into the impressive lobby of the Zaydel Corporate headquarters, her heels echoing against the polished marble floor. “Goodness! Do these guys wash their bums with dollar notes or what?” The vast expanse of the building's interior was breathtaking, with towering glass walls that allowed natural light to flood the space. A sleek, modern aesthetic permeated the surroundings, reflecting the corporate sophistication of Zaydels taste. Approaching the reception desk, Jenny was met by a friendly receptionist, who sat behind a sleek counter adorned with the Zaydel logo. "Good morning, miss! How may I assist you today?" The receptionist greeted her with a warm smile."Good morning." Jenny replied, reciprocating the smile. "I have a meeting scheduled with Mr Zaydel. Could you please guide me through the meeting procedures?" Jenny had no clue what else to say as she was not given much details. "Certainly, Miss. Which Mr. Zaydel are you supposed to meet?" the receptionist inquired."
Sahan walked to the front desk of the Dawn Decoration Corp with a paper bag in his hand. Inside the paper bag was a cup of coffee, and he was very careful not to spill it. After all, who would pay for a spillage and Sahan needed to get this order done rightly. He walked towards the reception desk and inquired."This is the coffee ordered by Mr. Danny. Where should I deliver it?" He asked the receptionist. The woman looked Sahan up and down and said disgustedly. "Follow me." Sahna was actually an Uber eats driver. But today, he unexpectedly received a delivery order with generous pay. It was two hundred dollars, so he accepted the job.He followed the receptionist until they reached the door of an office. As soon as Sahan put his hand on the doorknob, he suddenly heard a woman's moan from inside. The voice sounded very familiar to him. It was much like his girlfriend. He couldn't believe his ears, reassuring himself that he must have heard it wrong.Sahan tried to convince himself he w
If not for the call which Sahan had received, he wouldn't have remembered that he was from a wealthy family. The Zaydel family was one of the top three wealthiest families in the city. Luckily, Sahan was the sole heir to the consortium and was being called back home. The perfect timing, as they say karma is a bitch! For two years, his family had been assessing and observing him for the trials. Sahan had to undergo numerous tests which he could not predict even for once in the past two years. He had to excel each one of them to deem fit to be the heir officially. And it seems Sahan had passed the trial which had cost him his self respect. Everything that rightfully belonged to him could be claimed by him. Finally Sahan could go to the bank, get his card and withdraw some bucks to pay his debt. He had spent a lot on his ex to buy her presents and to throw her birthday parties etc? Now he was left with a big fat debt and her betrayal. It would have worried him earlier but not anymore.T
The manager smirked. “What? Cat caught your tongue now, eh?” He moved towards the cellphone and picked up the receiver. “All high and mighty for no darn reason. I will give you a few minutes, run and never come back here.” He waved at Sahan with disgust as if he had been enjoying the whole mockery. “And if you insist on staying here anymore, I have to call the cops then.”Sahan shook his head ignoring everything and placed his thumb once again on the scanner. Meanwhile, the manager had daringly called the cops and the police had picked it up. When a green light appeared on the device and a few details flashed up on the screen. “You brat! What did you do?” The manager yelled assuming Sahan had done something to the machine.[Verification Successful][Family account 10][VIP Client: Sinclair Zaydel][Account number: 10629]The manager’s eyes skimmed through the screen as he gasped at Sahan in disbelief. Utter shock kept him frozen and speechless for a moment but he was quick to put on a
Sahan needed to pick up his stuff as his presence was demanded by his father. He had been living with his girlfriend’s family after being deprived of everything. Though he did not have much on him, Sahan wished to cover his tracks. He went straight to Jenny’s home and without caring for anything walked inside. As soon as they entered the Lind manor, Mrs Jones (Jenny’s aunt) who was in the front hall, started to throw insults at Sahan. “Where the fuck are you coming from? Because of you my tea is late, we are not paying you for your disobedience. Move your ass and get it for me!” Oblivious of everything she began to fuel his rage without having any clue of consequences.“Move, you filthy mutt!” She yelled at him when Sahan approached her with an angry expression. Meanwhile Jenny’s father saw Sahan fuming in rage and knowing that he had never talked back to any of them, burst on him. “What? Why are you staring at me? Hoho! Someone’s angry.”She leaned in a bit and mockingly moved her c
“What are you even saying? Goodness! Can you even hear yourself, Jenny?” Sahan spoke in disbelief as he glanced at her with a narrowed gaze. “What have I done to you? I have given my whole life, my loyalty, love and sincerity to you! Wasn’t that not enough?” He nearly shouted but pain was visible in his tone. Sahan could not bring himself to hate her even if he wanted to.“No! It was not. I did not need those useless things, Sahan. I desired money and luxury which you cannot give me. This is the problem, you have never done anything for me!” She scoffed and shook her head with a mocking laughter. Jenny flipped her hair back again, pursing her lips arrogantly, she lifted her phone and showed it in front of him."See? This is the latest iPhone. My boyfriend bought it for me. It costs more than five thousand dollars. That amount is a meagre one to him. Can you rub shoulders with him? Hah! I doubt you have even seen such money altogether. And you want me to not dump you like a baggage?” H
“Give me all the details pertaining to the current situation of the companies and wealth. All of it immediately, and don’t forget anything which might seem insignificant.” Sahan knew that either way his family must have had some strings attaching to the Lind and Carter families. He just had to find and pull them before cutting!“Marco?” Sahan called him when he appeared by his side. “I want a list of all those companies which are linked with the Carters and Linds. Every one of them.” He had a plan and it was not something based on a teeny tiny revenge. Sahan wanted to crush them all. “Yes, young master.” Marco immediately headed out, leaving him alone in the study room. Mr Zaydel, Sahan’s father was away and before he could come back and announce him as the heir; he wanted to set the ground for his master plan. There was no way he was going to leave Jenny Lind and Danny Carter off the hook. They all needed to pay 6 times the damage they had done to him. And Sahan was all set on how
The next day Sahan got up to prepare for the meeting with Lind's family. A butler came inside the room to inform that everything was prepared. Sahan had everything set properly to assure that a heavy sum would be invested in the business. He was certain that everything would go according to his plan and at the right moment he would coldly butcher them all.Sahan walked towards the bathroom, took a very long time to shower, planning and imagining how their cunning faces would change upon knowing everything. Sahan began admiring how he missed the luxurious and exquisite lifestyle, all that for just a woman who did not even love him. After taking his long shower, he draped a white bathrobe around his body and headed towards the wardrobe.“Why there is no fucking expensive suit from any collection? You want me to wear these outdated rags? Me!?” Sahan yelled at the butler who was still standing there in the doorsteps and stood calm despite all the shouting. “Pardon me, young master. I shal
