Chapter 5- AWAKEN

Suddenly from the darkness, a rocking chair was thrown at him with full force

sending him flying backward. When he hit the floor, he immediately rolled to a door and stood up. Looking up he saw a figure with grey skin with slimes dropping from its body approaching him with its arm outstretched. The figure had its throat already slit open, with a huge mouth stache and its eyes missing from its sockets. The creature roared angrily at Sean while the two arms grab him making him unable to escape the creature's grip.

Sean kicked the creature in the stomach and pushed it away before he tries to run from the creature. The creature caught up with him, grabbed his leg tightly, and threw him against the wall, the impact created a big indent on the wall. The thing raised its hands and started pulling Sean towards it like a puppet.

Sean struggles to release himself but he felt his entire body wasn't in control anymore. suddenly he was being pulled into the darkness as the creature kept waiting for his arrival. After a long period of struggle to free himself, Sean finally did, falling onto the ground. He hurriedly grab on the liquid given to him by father Andrew, then hurriedly sprinkled it into the shadows.

The creature screamed in pain as soon as it touched the liquid. It roared again, sounding like a wounded animal before it vanished into thin air.

Sean still lay on the floor trying to regain his composure. His hand is bleeding as well as his face because he managed to scratch it with the sharp rocks during the fall. Once he got up and started walking away from the dark and empty hallway to explore more, he noticed something on the wall. There was a symbol written with red liquid on the wall.

‘Pay blood with blood....’

Sean shivered as he looked up at the symbol. What could such a symbol mean and who could have left it there? He looked around, noticing that nothing else could be seen.

Meanwhile, Eric could be seen sitting in a police station with other passengers while they all kept muttering among themself. After a few minutes of silence, Eric stands to his feet and walks to an officer close by.

“Sit, you shouldn't be here,” the officer said to him while signing on a paper, “You'll get yourself in trouble”

“Cant the cops do something about this?” Eric asked

The cop stopped whatever he was doing to look directly at Eric with his head tilted.

Eric began getting annoyed at this man so he asks, "People die every day out there, and you cops just ignore them. There is a demonic creature out there, taking every single life and you stay in here pretending like nothing is happening? You know what I've seen, it is not human"

“Yes, yes, we know what you've seen. We're not blind. So let me finish signing those papers,” the policeman told Eric who sits back down while he watches the officer continue signing papers.

Eric sighs standing to his feet with impatience growing inside of him, but he knew he couldn't cause any issues if he were to act out his anger now. So instead of acting out he sits back down and waits patiently until the officer finished reading all of the documents.

In the middle of his waiting, someone came to sit beside Eric. A man of average height, with a round face and brown hair wearing a blue suit jacket and white shirt with no tie.

“Hello,” he says with a friendly smile on his face. “I understand your pains”

Eric looked at his side to look at the speaker, who quickly introduce himself.

“I'm Devian " he stretched his arms out, giving a handshake to Eric before letting go of it. Eric shakes his hand politely nodding his head in response.

They stayed quiet for a while before Eric decides he wanted the conversation to happen so he asked, “You were also on the bus?”

Devian smiled again “Yes...all this happening, is like a nightmare. If I knew I would have just decided to spend the moment together with my little family”

Eric nodded while feeling a bit sympathetic, “It must be difficult....”

Devian nodded, “Can I ask you a question?”

“Sure”

Devian thought for a second then asked, “Do you think we will leave this town alive?”

Eric shook his head saying, “Probably not, our chances are slim, I'd say most of us won't make it out alive anyway"

“But why?"

Eric sighed “I honestly don't know. All we can do is hope for God to protect everyone. From whatever brought us here”

“You are right, whatever borough all of us here wasn't a coincidence. It seems like this is fate”

Eric looked at him confused, not knowing how to respond to that statement. Devian continued, “We may never know what caused this, or what happened to bring us here but we can pray and wait and hope for anything”

Eric nodded his head agreeing with him before they both fell silent once again. After a few seconds, a small noise from his pocket caught Eric off guard when he takes out his cell phone from his pocket and checks the screen.

He looked at the cell phone ringing out loudly, “Strange, but my phone was dead" He tried to turn it off to no avail.

Finally, he answers it and puts the device on his ear, “hello...who icell phoneSilence greeted him from the other end for a minute or two, then the voice that belonged to that person finally spoke;

“Can you hear me? " the speaker said while speaking out hurriedly

Eric pauses, before looking straight at the phone screen to see Dexter's name written above the strange Number. which had ‘999’

“Impossible, but Dexter is dead," Eric says with shock while attracting people's voices close by.

“Help! anybody, please...the flames, and pains are too much. He won't stop! until everyone is gone!” they could hear the sound of burning flames.

The call disconnected abruptly leaving only the buzzing in his ear
