A HINT OF TRUTH

As his parents left, Byron's phone started ringing.

He saw Joanna walking over to where he was. At first he thought she was the one calling but then, he saw that it was a private number.

Then, he answered it up.

A woman's voice could be heard from the other end, “Byron Smith, your days on earth are numbered. Listen carefully; you're a walking corpse…”

Byron didn't react to the voice and nodded at Joanna who was now in front and greeting him.

“What makes you think I care about this information?” Byron asked the caller bluntly.

Was he supposed to be scared or what?

“Trying to be tough, huh?” The person scoffed. “This time around, I promise even Elena wouldn't be able to stop this war.”

Byron paused and raised his eyes brow. He had to admit this particular statement caught his attention.

This person just mentioned his late mother's name.

“And what does Mrs. Elena have to do with this?” He asked, curiosity lensed in his voice.
