The Outing

There were many aspects that Seth sighted immediately he entered the living room that was cleared up to the extent of primordial comfort; the books lining the walls of the house; the lavender smell that he could detect even in a house that was so little used.

“These are for me?” she queried him pointing to the roses that he held in his hand.

Seth smiled and gave it to her, with a bottle of wine wrapped in a napkin. “I picked them up just in case You love them, do not you?”

For a moment their hands touched as she took the bouquet from him and Phoebe’s heart skipped a beat. “They are? Awwwn Thank you, Seth. But … why are you here?”

Seth sighed heavily and could sense that this was the moment that he had been looking forward and equally fearing. “I have given a lot of thought lately, Phoebe, as to what has happened to us and what has gone wrong and I found that it is impossible for me to turn a blind eye given the opportunity to at least try to make changes for the better.”
