Four days had passed since Tanaka found the young man in the alley, her restaurant was torn apart a day after that and she was still trying to connect the dots.
The young man was able to recall his name "Endo" but every other thing he said seemed to make no sense, he kept claiming that he was a king, and that he had just witnessed the annihilation of his entire kingdom. The words seemed true and sincere but problem was that there was no such kingdom as the one he had mentioned "Nihon" there was no kingdom with such a name, and if a kingdom had just been annihilated, it would be a worldwide news but there was no news about it.
Despite all that, Endo claimed that everything he said was true. Tanaka on the other hand, contemplated she would do about it. "Should I use it?" she asked herself
"would it be be proper?" she asked again
"but it's only the two of us, no one would notice"
Tanaka racked her brain for a few seconds before coming to a conclusion "I'll do it" she said as she walked over to Endo and her linked her forehead with his, then she looked into his eyes and said in a calm voice
"show me" and she saw all of Endo's memories but they were limited to only the things he said, she saw Endo standing in a tower, looking down on the most horrific sight she had ever seen. At first glance it looked like an army was caught in a cloudless thunderstorm but as she looked for a bit longer she saw a man in the midst of the soldiers, killing everyone he came close to. In a matter of seconds all that was left was a pile of dead bodies and a lightning clad man walking out of it. Every other memory seemed to have been forgotten.
Tanaka began to reason the matter, if what Endo said was true it would mean that the event he described also took place, it may have been long time ago before recorded history considering how unfamiliar he was with many things, but the event still seemed recent to him even though he couldn't remember much of it.
The events where still recent, and he couldn't remember much, combining the two facts, Tanaka came up with two possible explanations. The first was that Endo was somehow accidentally transported through time and suffered memory loss in the process. The second was that he was imprisoned in a seal by his enemies and somehow managed to break free after a long time, if he was from an era before recorded history it could be speculated that losing his memories was what kept him sane.
After considering all the factors, Tanaka turned to Endo and asked "do you want to remember?" and the answer was "yes" without hesitation
"are you sure? " Tanaka asked, and Endo's answer was still yes
"I don't know what it is, but there is something I must remember " he said boldly
Then Tanaka walked to him and linked foreheads with him as she had done before the said "recall" and backed away.
At first there was silence, but suddenly aloud scream of agony escaped from Endo's vocal cord and continued for a while before stopping. After that came another silence, but this one had a chill, Endo's aura seemed to have changed. Tanaka was paralyzed by the change of events, she couldn't even say anything as he walked past her with the words "there's someone I have to kill"
all she could do was watch as armour covered his body and wonder what she had done.
"what did he recall?"
"who does he want to kill?"
"is he going to be ok?"
"what have I done?" all these questions and many others ran through her head then she began to think about where she had heard the word 'nihon' from, someone else had said that word to her before but she wasn't sure who it was. she searched through her memory until she stumbled upon Yamato, she could remember him saying it but nothing else came to mind so she decided to go asked him by herself and uncover the great mystery.
Meanwhile at Shiro's, house Mia was being pampered by Dave. there was breakfast in bed, and a week off from school with a legit doctor's note all for the sake a full recovery.
Shiro had already made his own recovery, and according to Dave was "fit to sustain new injuries" his heart wound was completely gone, and his energy level was optimum. He was fully ready to go to school but not for himself.
"Since you are already ahead of your class, why don't you attend for Mia to make up for her lost time?" Dave asked as he commended himself for a nice 'in-law securing idea'
"she's my junior, i can just give her my old notes" Shiro answered, and was replied with "you never kept notes"
"and even if you did, she's an art student"
"ooh" was the only comment his could make after his realization.
"but do I really need to go?" Shiro asked.
As soon Shiro said those words, Dave had a quick flash of memory but there was no pain or any headache, just a clear vision of a beautiful woman holding on to him and saying the exact same words.
"Oh shit" he said as he walked away from Shiro, and with a little shrug Shiro made his way to school, leaving Dave alone in the house.
Another memory flash happened almost immediately after Dave walked back into his house and it was also painless, he now remembered the name of the woman he loved
"Ritsu" he said as more memories of her painlessly flooded into his head.
"Oh no...Oh no...Oh no." he mumbled as the memories kept flooding in. Dave was already aware that if he fully recovered his memories, he would be losing the most important thing to him. He also knew that he had very little time after the pain stopped, a few months at most, and he also knew that there was nothing he could do about it, that was he had written to himself. All he could do was hope for the best.
Meanwhile at school, Shiro arrived unusually early for the first time. Normally he would just in time for first period but he was forced out of the house and now he had nothing to do. he looked around at the early students who were busy with their discussions, flirting, love confessions and other things. he was so bored that he decided to watch how one of the love confessions turned out.
He watched as a first year student handed over a love letter to her third year senior in the midst of his peers, and confessed her love with all sincerity. but her feelings weren't reciprocated the boys just laughed as leader tore the letter and threw the pieces on her face.
"Who do you think you are?" The senior said in a domineering tone
"Did you think an unpowered scum like you could ever get the likes of me?"
Aside from the non-royals there was another set of people that received discrimination in the school, they were know as the unpowered. these are basically normal human beings with no magical power. Since they are about eighty percent of the school population, even the royals among them receive a bit of the unfair treatment and this was an example of that.
Marie Roswell, a first year unpowered royal confessed to Fuji Anato, a third year royal talent(that's what they called themselves) and got regected. But Anato and his friends didn't stop there, they began to rain insults on the poor girl.
Shiro thought it was just normal until things became physical. little Marie was slapped and abused by her seniors and someone had to intervene. Shiro wanted to go but he was only in the second year and it was against the rules to defy a senior. "what do I do?" he asked himself. He looked around but there was no teacher in sight and all students present were either delinquent or weak or just minding their own business.
After a minute of watching the horrible action take place, began to feel like he was forgetting something. he reached into his pocket and felt something strange inside "I wonder what this is" thought as he pulled it out and looked at it. At first he was wondering what a disciplinary committee badge was doing inside his pocket then he remembered that he had joined on a whim and never particularly did anything with it, but with this he could stop the madness.
As and his gang bullied the innocent Marie, they heard a voice.
"I had expected a department head's son to be a bit exemplary but you're quite the opposite" Shiro said as he walked majestically towards the trio.
"Who said you could interfere?!!" Anato yelled as he walked towards Shiro readying a flame in his hand to strike, but before he could reach, Shiro calmly said "school road" and Anato and his friends fell to their knees in pain.
"what did you do to us" Anato asked, then Shiro smiled and answered "it's quite simple, all I did was to walk from my house to school, record the accumulated feeling on my legs then transmit to people like you that hardly walk anywhere". what made this spell very effective was the fact that Shiro's house was very far from school and he ran he the distance every day, and also that it was one of the temporal curses, 'the curse of the hike'. Normally curses were forbidden among students but the disciplinary committee was an exception since the curses allowed them to solve problems without much resistance from their fellow students.
little Marie was safe, Anato was subdued and first period had started. Although Shiro was in Mia's class, that didn't stop him from dozing off once the history teacher began his lesson. The history teacher Mr. Kojiro who was now infuriated walked up to Shiro and woke him up "Mr. Anderson, could you please not sleep in my class" he said in an angered tone but Shiro simply replied "won't you doze off if you were listening to boring version of something you already knew"
"so you know the entire history of this island?" Mr. Kojiro
"of course" Shiro replied
"then why don't you teach the class"
The other students in weren't surprised at this outcome, it was a strategy used to put unruly students in their place. They feared for Shiro's reputation until he walked up to the board, smiled and said "let's begin"
"Shin sekai academy, the tech house, the museum of lost history, the eternal tower and all the houses in Fubuki island, most people met these structures here and almost no one knows about anything before their existence. Most people say that it all started about a century ago when Jin Fubuki discovered the newly remerged island and made it into what it is today. it was said that he sold all he had in order to do so, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Jin wrote most of his findings down and one of the things he wrote was quite surprising. it was written that there was a clear sign of a former civilisation but only on half of the island because human human skulls and remains were all over the place on one side, but on the other side there was nothing but run down structures. This led to a speculation, it was assumed that as the island sank slowly from the south, and that people moved over to the north until there was no more hope. The speculation was ruled out after a huge nu

As soon as Yang yelled "OVERSHADOW ", every inorganic material in the entire island turned pure white. clothes, shoes, walls, even screens, there was a total white-out and everyone saw it. Ranging from those who were out in the open to those who were enjoying the privacy of a public toilet, everyone had a momentary white-out. Shiro's presence and energy could be sensed throughout the island, it was as if he was everywhere at the same time. The hunters that surrounded the school were throw into daze because even after everything regained their normal colour Shiro's presence remained, they felt as if he was standing right in front of them and at the same time as if he was far away. Not just the hunters, the students, the teachers, even those that were taking walks at the edge of the island, felt the presence. when it finally stopped, Shiro was nowhere to be found, his presence was completely gone, not even the most proficient sensors could locate him. it was as if he had vanished not ju
The individual barriers that protected the students were beyond every expectation, not even big Joe, the acclaimed strongest man in the world could break through it. For a few minutes it was just an awkward moment of hunters tackling impenetrable barriers while the students inside just had to keep their hopes up, it continued that way until Cypher found the energy source of the barrier and big Joe sprang into action. Meanwhile at Shiro's house, Mia had opened the door to see a lot of unwelcoming faces. For her it was quite obvious what they were after but it was the first time that they arrived in such a large group, they were about fifty in total and they all seemed to be well trained. "he's not around " she said, as she did her best to remain calm. Normally in situations like this, the men would try to force their way in and confirm if what she said was true, and then she would end up whooping all their asses, but the condition of this encounter was not the usual. First, the m
the nature of Kojiro's ability was was quite simple. he had the ability to create highly impenetrable barriers in front of and around anything, but this great power had a huge flaw that many people knew. the barriers were so powerful that nothing except breathable air could pass through them, not even the transmission waves of magical energy, and it was worked from both inside and outside. so if Kojiro were to cover himself in the barrier, he would gain the ultimate protection but he would be unable to cover others, and if he covered others, he would be unable to cover himself. in this situation he chose the latter and put the safety of the school first. "so you're the barrier expert." Joe said as he walked towards Kojiro who slowly backed away and began to run. Joe was very built and strong with high endurance, but Kojiro was a lot faster with home ground advantage and he was quite dexterous. with just hand-to-hand combat,he was able to knock out a few hunters in the way while run
Rin and Cypher remained in their initial positions, both pointing their weapons at each other. Rin had a Shin Sekai laser gun, which was known to be powerful. It had the looks of a revolver pistol but it was surely way faster and more powerful. on the other hand, Cypher had right his index finger. it didn't seem powerful at first, but as both of them fired and evaded, it proved to be much more effective than Rin's pistol. With just his index finger, Cypher was capable of mass destruction and rapid fire. Rin wasn't even getting a little chance for a return fire. all she could do was run, evade and frequently use energy shields to block the incoming shots. "This is going to be quite easy" Cypher thought as he added his left Index finger to the equation. but this thought was quickly overturned when Rin pulled out a laser cannon from what seemed to be nowhere. Cypher was hit by two things; a strong laser beam, and great deal of shock. he could block the beam but the shock hi
The battles in both Shiro's house and school were settled. but let's not forget that some hunters were sent to his favourite restaurant (Tanaka's). In the words of Yamato who was there, "not really much happened". but when someone says such a thing while scratching his head and looking away from the questionnaire, it becomes evident that a whole lot went down. It was a rare sunny day unlike the other days that Fubuki island lived up to its name(Fubuki means snow storm). On days like this, a lot of people loved be outdoors, it also meant that a lot of people ate outdoors on days like this, and restaurants gained a lot more customers than usual. Tanaka's restaurant always took advantage of this and so did Yamato. He was was skipping school to run a whole day shift. the apparent reason was because other employees also wanted to get a feel of the rare warmth that came with the day, but the real reason was because of money. If he could could cover for his colleagues he would get th
While all the battles took place, Shiro was lying on a park bench staring at the eternal tower in front of him. it was called eternal because no one could really tell how old it was. even scientifically it was seen as something that was just recently built, but in reality it was present even before the island's discovery. it was even stated in the old tales of Nihon. no one knew the history of this tower and Shiro wondered "am I so bored that I'm thinking of this right now?" After that question, it didn't take long for his boredom came to an end. His situation got a transition from bored to endangered really quickly with the arrival of an unexpected person. Shiro didn't think, he didn't even stop to quiver in fear or come up with a plan. He immediately turned his back and ran. He just wasn't ready to die twice. from the perspective of normal people, the wind blew briefly, but from Shiro's point of view, it was a chase that lasted about twenty minutes in relative time and yet
