"Ellie Porter here"
"Live from the inside of the stadium and best seat in the house"
"The starting buzzer for the match has been sounded but neither of the contenders have moved from their starting positions"
"Cal is taking his time to charge up his power but we have no idea why Orie hasn't moved yet"
"I still stand on my support for him but he has done what the rest of the world consider to be the greatest mistake in the history of this tournament"
Ellie was right. Everyone that won against Cal in the previous tournament was powerful but that wasn't the only reason they won; they were able to win because they stopped him from charging up properly. The last person that let him charge up fully got knocked out in one hit and that was the expectation most of the crowd had for Orie.
Soon, Cal had finished charging up. One could tell by the steam-like aura that could be seen emanating from his body. He got ready to move as the cheering of the crowd got louder; he was confident, the people were on his side and the road he could see ahead of him was that of victory.
Cal was quick to put his legs to work and dash towards his opponent. Speed that eyes could hardly follow, a perfect positioning and good direction; he achieved all these in a single dash but still somehow failed to hit his target.
For a moment, the crowd thought that the hit had connected and it wasn't until Cal missed a couple more that they noticed how wrong they were. Those with good eyes could see the moment Orie made the slight movements that made the punches miss.
"ARE YOU SEEING THIS?!!" Ellie screamed with joy as she looked back at the camera.
"For the first time in the history of this tournament"
"The strongman is having a hard time in his first match"
"He is fully charged"
"Fully active"
"Fully functional"
"AND YET"
"The new guy is playing with him"
"The current situation makes the initial odds look like a technical glitch"
"The realists are panicked about their bets and the risk takers seem hopeful"
"The crowd is fully focused"
"All eyes look to the arena"
"There is a tension within the stalemate"
"And there is no one in the world that wants to miss the moment it all changes"
It wasn't long till Cal gave up trying to hit and took a few leaps back. He needed time to stop and rethink his strategy.
"He's quite nimble" Cal said to himself
"But he hasn't attacked yet, I wonder why that is"
"He isn't even coming at me now"
"It like he wants me to do all the work"
"He's planning something"
"But it doesn't matter" he said as he readied himself
"He can't win"
Cal's dash was faster than before; not that people could see it with their naked eyes but the force that he used to tear through the air could be felt by everyone. He went with a kick that was so fast that Orie didn't have enough time to evade and ended up flying of to the side.
The crowd grew wild. The faith that they had lost was instantly restored as it became apparent that Cal was holding back.
There was no waste of time in his next attack. It was faster, stronger and even though it wasn't a direct hit, he was able to do noticable damage. He kept up the momentum with each strike having more power than the last. He was finally taking the lead in the fight.
"Ellie Porter here"
"Coming to you live from within the stadium"
"I just want to clarify that I will not apologize for my team's support for the underdog"
"I say this with full confidence that my prediction was not a mistake"
"So sit back and watch"
"The match is not yet over"
SHIN SEKAI SECRET: Yen was afraid of falling asleep. He could not willingly go to bed unless Mina talked him into it. He was afraid that he might cause destruction while he was unconscious.
You never truly appreciate a miracle unless you heard of it before it happened. That moment when the thing you thought was just too impossible begins to unfold before you for the very first time. There is no look more precious than that of one who has had such experience. Miracles happen only once. After that, it becomes a possibility. Cal and Orie were initially rated on a seven to one ratio. This meant that the officials of this tournament believed that Cal was at least seven times more powe6r than Orie and seven times more likely to win. At the current time the ratio had become ten to one. It seemed hopeless for the few that had put their faith in Orie. The match wasn't over but the situation made them feel the winner was already decided. "What is he doing in there?" "Does he have a death wish?" "Just give up already!!"even some of those that were on his opponent's side felt pity for him but Orie was not one to dwell on pity. He could not hear their words, al
There was complete silence in all parts of the stadium. It wasn't that people had nothing to say but what could they say that could explain what just happened before their eyes? They just watched as the referee ran in to confirm the outcome. It took longer than usual as the referee also had his doubts but in the end he had no choice but to declare Cal unable to continue. The silence broke immediately he stood up to declare Orie the winner. The doubt of many began to flow out in words. "IT'S A LIE!!" "THIS IS BULLSHIT!!" "THIS GAME IS RIGGED!!" There was no word of doubt that was not spoken at that moment. Even when the medics came out to put Cal on a stretcher, people still thought it was an act. What could Orie do? He had just won a match and no one believed it. There was hardly anyone cheering for him, all the loud voices expressed nothing but doubt, hate, and disbelief. Despite all the hate he was getting, he just cracked a smile and walked out of the arena
Chris Vanadium. The only reason he didn't make it to the finals as much as Cal was that he faced Waramaki in most of the semifinals. He is one of the few people that have been able to beat Cal in the previous tournaments. He is also a one time champion and the one he beat to earn that title was none other than Fuji Waramaki. There were many reasons to fear him, but most feared attribute of his was the speed of his blade. Yes, he fights with a sword and he is really good with it; so good that a large percentage of his matches end in less than a minute. Anyone that saw his previous match was immediately reminded of how dangerous he was, even some that had faith in Orie in the previous match lost it for this one. To sum things up on how dangerous he was, the chance of him making it to the final match of the current tournament was ninety-nine percent. Though Orie's match was the first of round one, in round two, his match was the third. Not many had high hopes for this match beca
"This is my day" "This is my day" "This is my day" It kept repeating but Natsumi could not understand what it meant" "This is my day" She knew she had forgotten something "This is my day" She was sure she had forgotten something "This is my day" Something that would help her discern the situation. "This is my day" It stopped as soon as she realized what it meant. She remembered that when she thought it was Orie's birthday, he had told her these words. She remembered how he told her of the four market days of his tribe and that he shared his name with one of them. She remembered that he told her how the days affected his power, and this made her the least surprised person among the audience when Orie got back up on his feet. "WHAT... THE... F***!!!!?" Ellie screamed at the camera "How much blood does this guy have?" "He's lost so much yet he is still standing" "What kind of immortal dragon sh** is this" "This is not easy to believ
From within the circle came forth a huge bird of prey; a hawk. It appeard to be fully covered in silver. Just by looking at it, one could tell that its beak was harder than a rock and that its claws were as sharp as blades, even its wings didn't seem flying was all they could do. At this point in the battle where pride was being cast aside, the same thought ran through the minds of everyone watching. "NOW THE REAL FIGHT BEGINS" "Go" at this command from Chris, the bird threw itself at Orie with incredible speed. Orie evaded the bird without problem but what came next was quite challenging. After evading an attack from above he found himself facing one from below. Not many can escape such attacks from Chris. He would use the bird to make his opponents dodge in a certain manner, then he would go in for the real attack when their balance had been compromised. It was quite an effective move, but just not for Orie. "How is this possible?" Chris thought to himself as h
"Oh not the face" Shiro thought to himself as he was sent flying through the museum's front door. The impact of his back hitting the street floor was enough to get a yell out of him and make him roll around in pain. After rolling, he laid there for a few seconds before getting back up to reassess the situation he was in. He had already sustained significant damage and his vision was already blurred. "But I was hit only once" he said to himself in an unsure tone as he staggered to remain on his feet. He could barely move, no one else was around and he could see the armored man walking down the steps of the museum. As Shiro watched, the armored man walked down the steps and stopped, then he began to stare at Shiro. After few minutes of awkward silence and observation, the armored man finally spoke "are you Shin?" he asked, with a lot of seriousness in his reverberating voice. Normally, Shiro would deny and say that he wasn't the one the armored man was looking for, but Victor said he
After a speedy cleanup, Dave was finally ready with breakfast. He set the plates and made sure everything was in perfect condition then looked at the well arranged dining table and said to himself "it's still futile " then he walked over to the stairs yelled "Shiro, breakfast is ready"After that, Dave could see his son running down with lightning under his feet and instantly finishing his breakfast while standing."I don't remember being like this when I was your age" Dave said with a disturbed look on his face."You actually don't remember anything " Shiro replied as he hung his bag and took of to school."He's just like his mother" Dave said to himself as he shook his head and smiled. "Wait a sec" Dave said to himself in a surprised tone "just like his mother, just like his mother, just like his mother, just....like....his.....mother.." he said repeatedly in agony and pain.Dave kept writhing in pain as images he couldn't see clearly flashed in his mind. The pain was great but he tr
With a little bit of hesitation, Orie peeped into his classroom, then slowly walked in. As he walked towards the teacher's table, no one rose to greet him; not even Victor, his most/only respectful student. As Orie sat down and looked at the impatient faces of his students, he felt apologetic even though it wasn't his fault that they had been left behind. Neither him nor his students were new to the kind of situation they were currently in, his class was the most unfavoured in the entire school, and he could believe it was his fault. In "Fubuki island", the non-royals were considered people to stepped on and kicked around. Orie wasn't just a non-royal, he was a foreigner from a different country and There was no way for him to hide the obvious fact that was written all over body. His dark skin and his short curly hair gave him away. Orie's greatest challenge was his job, teaching in the most elite school at a very young age of twenty-five. His colleagues looked down on him, and he
