The individual barriers that protected the students were beyond every expectation, not even big Joe, the acclaimed strongest man in the world could break through it. For a few minutes it was just an awkward moment of hunters tackling impenetrable barriers while the students inside just had to keep their hopes up, it continued that way until Cypher found the energy source of the barrier and big Joe sprang into action.
Meanwhile at Shiro's house, Mia had opened the door to see a lot of unwelcoming faces. For her it was quite obvious what they were after but it was the first time that they arrived in such a large group, they were about fifty in total and they all seemed to be well trained.
"he's not around " she said, as she did her best to remain calm. Normally in situations like this, the men would try to force their way in and confirm if what she said was true, and then she would end up whooping all their asses, but the condition of this encounter was not the usual. First, the men were just too many. Second, Mia was yet to fully recover from her injuries, and the third was the reply she received after saying that Shiro wasn't around. The reply came from a man, who by just looking, one could tell that he was cut out from the rest, the few words he uttered carried confidence, power and a great imposition of fear. All Mia could do was to stand petrified and listen to him as he said "We know he's not around, we're here for you... little Miss."
Back to the school, an all out brawl going on between the the hunters and the combat enabled teachers. The hunters were led by big Joe, a hulking beast with an unknown an amount of super strength. while the teachers were led by none other than mr. Fuji Waramaki, the man who had power over all elements.
While the battle ensued, two things went unnoticed by the teachers. First was that Orie was nowhere to be seen(this was only noticed by his students), and the second was that Cypher had found the secret passage that led to the principal's office(this was noticed by no one). While Orie's disappearance may have been important, it was inconsequential to the outcome of the raid, so the real cause for concern was Cypher's discovery.
Not just Cypher but every one knew that principal Rin had no magical power and was always guarded by professionals. but once in the school premises she was always alone and walked around freely. Even though the principal's office was the most secure place in the entire school, it would be an easy job for someone like Cypher considering that the entire place was mechanized and subject to hacking.
It wasn't long before Cypher made it to the main office. all the the security doors he had passed were no match for his abilities, they basically fell open as soon he laid his hands on them and now he was standing in front of principal Rin who seemed to be asleep despite all the commotion going on.
"Is this lady for real?" he asked himself. how could someone be asleep after all that just happened. it wasn't normal for such a thing happen but Cypher was experiencing it and what made things more awkward was that she remained unresponsive even as he got closer and no defence mechanism was activated when touched her forehead. he ended up feeling like some kind of creep that snuck up on a sleeping woman but he had job and she was the most effective factor for completing it, so he brought out a rope and proceeded to tie her up(with made him feel even more creepy). but then Rin woke up and there was an awkward moment for a while which she used to figure out the entire situation and it wasn't long she had gun pointed at Cypher.
Meanwhile, somewhere in the school yard, Fuji and big Joe were fighting it out. they had been at it for about ten minutes and none of them seemed to be backing out or showing any signs of tiredness, it was quite visible that none of them had decided to go all out, but that was about to change.
Big Joe stopped in the middle of the fight and Fuji finally got a clean shot and took it and was sure that it hit, there was no way anyone could evade his well timed thunderbolt but as soon as the dust cleared, Joe was standing unharmed as if he was not even been hit. he threw another bolt and watched it carefully. to his astonishment, Joe did not even make an effort dodge, he just walked straight into the incoming bolt and came out unscathed. then he tried his fire cannons, earth crusher, hailstorm, wind blades, he even summoned a few familiars to assist in the fight but none the dealt any noticable damage.
Joe laughed diabolically as he walked towards Fuji who wanted to make a move but stopped midway.
"so you're afraid of hurting your students, what a good teacher you are." Joe said, as he landed series of punches on Waramaki's face and continued to pummel him.
Waramaki knew his own strength. he had enough power to break through Kojiro's barriers but was unable to leave a scratch on Joe, so he knew stepping up his game would put the students in danger. his only hope was that since Joe, despite his durability was unable to break the barriers, someone would eventually take him down. But even that hope was shattered he saw Joe walking in Kojiro's direction right before he passed out.
It only took a few walks for Joe to get to where Kojiro was and as Waramaki feared, he was unguarded due to the nature of his ability.
the nature of Kojiro's ability was was quite simple. he had the ability to create highly impenetrable barriers in front of and around anything, but this great power had a huge flaw that many people knew. the barriers were so powerful that nothing except breathable air could pass through them, not even the transmission waves of magical energy, and it was worked from both inside and outside. so if Kojiro were to cover himself in the barrier, he would gain the ultimate protection but he would be unable to cover others, and if he covered others, he would be unable to cover himself. in this situation he chose the latter and put the safety of the school first. "so you're the barrier expert." Joe said as he walked towards Kojiro who slowly backed away and began to run. Joe was very built and strong with high endurance, but Kojiro was a lot faster with home ground advantage and he was quite dexterous. with just hand-to-hand combat,he was able to knock out a few hunters in the way while run
Rin and Cypher remained in their initial positions, both pointing their weapons at each other. Rin had a Shin Sekai laser gun, which was known to be powerful. It had the looks of a revolver pistol but it was surely way faster and more powerful. on the other hand, Cypher had right his index finger. it didn't seem powerful at first, but as both of them fired and evaded, it proved to be much more effective than Rin's pistol. With just his index finger, Cypher was capable of mass destruction and rapid fire. Rin wasn't even getting a little chance for a return fire. all she could do was run, evade and frequently use energy shields to block the incoming shots. "This is going to be quite easy" Cypher thought as he added his left Index finger to the equation. but this thought was quickly overturned when Rin pulled out a laser cannon from what seemed to be nowhere. Cypher was hit by two things; a strong laser beam, and great deal of shock. he could block the beam but the shock hi
The battles in both Shiro's house and school were settled. but let's not forget that some hunters were sent to his favourite restaurant (Tanaka's). In the words of Yamato who was there, "not really much happened". but when someone says such a thing while scratching his head and looking away from the questionnaire, it becomes evident that a whole lot went down. It was a rare sunny day unlike the other days that Fubuki island lived up to its name(Fubuki means snow storm). On days like this, a lot of people loved be outdoors, it also meant that a lot of people ate outdoors on days like this, and restaurants gained a lot more customers than usual. Tanaka's restaurant always took advantage of this and so did Yamato. He was was skipping school to run a whole day shift. the apparent reason was because other employees also wanted to get a feel of the rare warmth that came with the day, but the real reason was because of money. If he could could cover for his colleagues he would get th
While all the battles took place, Shiro was lying on a park bench staring at the eternal tower in front of him. it was called eternal because no one could really tell how old it was. even scientifically it was seen as something that was just recently built, but in reality it was present even before the island's discovery. it was even stated in the old tales of Nihon. no one knew the history of this tower and Shiro wondered "am I so bored that I'm thinking of this right now?" After that question, it didn't take long for his boredom came to an end. His situation got a transition from bored to endangered really quickly with the arrival of an unexpected person. Shiro didn't think, he didn't even stop to quiver in fear or come up with a plan. He immediately turned his back and ran. He just wasn't ready to die twice. from the perspective of normal people, the wind blew briefly, but from Shiro's point of view, it was a chase that lasted about twenty minutes in relative time and yet
In accordance to Victor's predictions, Shiro began to experience his opponent grow in strength. In a comparison of actual strength and energy levels, Shiro would have no problem defeating the armored man but the circumstances surrounding the postponement spell makes it difficult. It was as if the universe itself would do anything to keep the man alive until his fated battle began. It didn't matter how weak he was everyone that wasn't his opponent would be made weaker. As the exchange of blows continued, so did Endo's growth in Strength. Shiro was still landing solid blows but he kept getting back up like a "shonen MC" while Shiro kept his usual pace. soon enough, Endo's counter attacks began but Shiro was yet to be in danger. He stepped up pace, becoming more agile and delivering a double counter. "you're not the only one that can move abnormally" he said with a smile "now come at me you age old anomaly" Shiro had little hesitation in his movements, instead he
"Why noww?, why now?" for some reason, Tanaka's car seemed to be facing some major technical difficulties. She had turned the key multiple times but the engine wouldn't even cough. "Why aren't you using a Shin Sekai brand?" Yamato asked out of curiosity. Tanaka's restaurant was quite successful and it didn't didn't seem like she was financially lacking. Also, Shin Sekai products were very affordable and much more efficient than others. The reason she chose to distance herself from them was not something one could easily guess. "It's a long story" she answered as she opened the bonnet and started looking for what was wrong with the car. It didn't take long before Tanaka started panicking. "Oh no no no no no no" "what's it?" Yamato asked "It's fried" she answered "what's fried?" Yamato asked "everything....everything's fried" she replied in panic it didn't take Yamato long to guess that the cause of the breakdown wasn't just due to poor quality "this was a sab
As Orie watched Shin, he heard the voices of the gods saying "Time up. It's his turn now." and the markings on body faded away. Then he snapped his fingers and was immediately dressed like his normal self with the overcoat and scarf and backed away. Shin grabbed Endo and jumped out of the pit then put him in a sitting position and said to him "I need you to listen to me" The rage inside Endo was too much. there was no way he was going to comply with the man that massacred his entire kingdom but that wasn't the only reason. Everyone; including Shin found it strange that throughout the entire ordeal, he didn't utter any word. If anyone was as enraged as Endo was he would have at least let out some the rage verbally and even if his mind was in disarray, a thousand years alone was quite enough to come up with a meticulous plan to exact his revenge. But for some reason every decision Endo made so far was crude as if he didn't even care about revenge. It was as if his objective was to
"magic, supernatural abilities, superpowers, talents, quirks... we call it many things depending on where we come from, what we learned and how it rolls off the tongue. Those who have it cultivate it and integrate into their daily lives, those who don't have it sometimes study it, but the question that is asked on both sides is the question of its origin. hardly anyone in the world knows the origin of this thing we call 'magic' people have studied and searched but to no avail. there is no culture on earth that has any records of its origin. this was baffling to the archeologists, something that was so significant had no story that spoke of its origin. Human beings have searched without rest for an answer that I have. all they have to do is ask any priest but they don't want 'superstitious' answers. what they do not understand is that those 'superstitious' answers are true facts so they wallow in their answerless search."
