CHAPTER 3

Narrator's pov

The orca's gang is a group of misfits; the worst society has to offer, the home of hoodlums, drug addicts, arsonists, prostitutes, serial killers, etc., basically the bad eggs in town. They are involved in robbery, drug and gun trafficking, human trafficking, assault, burglary, drive-by shooting, extortion, homicide, identification fraud, money laundering, prostitution operations, sale of stolen property, and weapons trafficking. The previous day on the day of the apocalypse, the orca's gang was celebrating their third year as a gang in a strip club when an explosion was heard outside, thinking it was their location had been found out by the police, everyone scattered and ran for safety as the leader and his most trusted men found their way through the back door into the alley and onto the streets as the found one of the most devastating scene before they knew what was happening a zombie launched at one of the men.

"What the fuck??" The leader exclaimed

"Help... Help me... HELP ME!!!" The guard shouted as he was been devoured by the zombie.

"Is that a freaking zombie?" the leader said in fear while cocking his gun with the remaining men before firing a few rounds at the zombie and the guard till they were both dead.

"What the hell is happening in this city," the leader said looking around as it dawned upon him the predicament the city was in he then began to think of how he could take over the situation and overturn the city as he saw more and more zombies coming their way attracted by the gunshots, two of the zombies launched at some of the men, as the men were struggling with them the leader took it as an opportunity to run away leaving his men to their doom.

By the time the leader reached their hideout, he found that some of his gang members had already made their way to the hideout so he took it as an opportunity to take over the situation, riling them up that they could finally use this chance to take over the city as they were no cops or anything to stop them, he managed to convince them as they armed themselves with different types of guns and stomped the streets killing zombies like they were flies just shooting indiscriminately then they started entering houses and dragging families out threatening that they would be killed if they don't pay for protection and they had to pay for resources like food and clothing because everything now belonged to them as they were the new law, they took over the streets in less than a day and this three men threatening Akim were part of the orca's gang

Akim's pov

Oh shit, I knew I would run into people like this but I didn't think so soon, I don't want to draw attention to myself right now, and I also don't want to argue because it was pointless, since these guys won't let me be unless I drop everything with me, besides I had already stored ninety-nine percent of all what I collected in my storage space, and what was in the backpack is insignificant compared with what I already had, there's no use prolonging this matter, I'll just pretend as if I'm reluctantly agreeing to hand over my bag and leave.

" Look, guys, can't we just talk this out?" I said

"You don't have any right to talk about anything," said gangster one

" Yeah, you stole what is ours," said gangster two

" But we're willing to let you go if you drop everything you have isn't that nice enough? "Said gangster three

Good, now I just need to act a bit more, and everything will be over. " Are you sure?... I can leave if I just drop this?" I said as one of them nodded and moved closer.

" Then just take it and let me go," I said closing my eyes and pretending it was a hard decision for me by the time I opened my eyes and handed it over, I noticed only one of the gangsters was standing in front of me but before I could look around, one of them then charged at me from my side with a knife, I quickly dodged and moved to the other side by the time I noticed the last one was already at my back with a metal bat swinging at me but I was able to dodge them again, at this time I was fully backed to the wall with them at my front.

"I thought I could leave when I gave you, the bag," I said

"How do we know you don't have anything else on you and you won't come back to steal more supplies?" said gangster two swinging his bat

"I already handed you the bag that's all have and I promise I won't ever step foot in this place again," I said trying to reason with them

"Well, the only way we can make sure is by killing you," gangster three said as they all cackled.

They don't even have plans to let me go. To be honest, I expected it, but I chose not to accept it. I can't have them killing me, not when I still have to find my family; I don't think leaving them alive is an option either to prevent them from following me and involving even more people. As they all lunged at me, I brought out my spatial blade after imagining a short sword and slashed at one of the gangster's throats, cutting it off.

"Huh" gangster two gasped as his head fell to the ground

I then charged at them, seeing as they were distracted, and then took out another one by stabbing his head; as I pulled out the blade, the last one fell in fear, trying to move away from me as I kept walking closer.

" What is that thing? What are yo....huukkk guukuk.." I cut him off by throwing the dagger at his throat then moved closer and dragged it out of him before cutting his head off.

"Huff" I exhaled, killing someone wasn't new to me so I wasn't fazed at all I retracted the blade then picked up my bag, and started heading to the police station to pick up a vehicle so I could leave this place fast but on reaching there I saw an off-road jeep I noticed it had the same logo of an orca as I saw on the one of the gang member's jacket, I guess it was theirs.

"Well since there's no one stopping me I'll just take the sweet ride for myself," I said, as I got closer to it I realized that it had been modified, its windows and windscreens had been barred, it had a turret gun mounted on the roof, even the tires were protected by bars and it had some kind of metal plate with bars at the front that looked like it could be used to clear the road and be used for defense it even had a fuel cell in front.

"I got to say this gangsters sure know their stuff." I hopped in, and luckily, the keys were inside the car, so I didn't have to hot wire it; I started driving and noticed the fuel tank was running low. "All I need is enough fuel now, then I can get to my family," I said, driving to the nearest gas station to fill up the tank and get some to store in my storage space.
