Chapter 26

Archie was glad when he skipped punishment. He didn't want his name to be tarnished again but these boys were really pushing him.

Connor smirked at him daring him to do his worst which got him angry but he remembered his father's warning. He wasn't supposed to be found in such a midst of people, it didn't speak well of him.

He grinned, causing confusion to settle on the faces of the onlookers. They knew that it was about to go down but they didn't want him to be the winner of the competition.

"Why don't you try your luck in basketball instead of trying to tag an innocent boy?" He replied.

Connor snorted. "Are you suddenly a coward? What happened to all the warnings about we letting you be and whatnot? Don't tell me you're now repentant, because I don't believe that bullshit. If you want to do something go ahead and do it and stop hiding under some pretense that wouldn't work for you."
