"How dare you, Jason!" Scot was furious… enraged. He couldn’t put a name to how he was feeling at the moment and all he could do was charge towards Jason while throwing blows at him.
Scot was devastated, feeling deceived by both his friend and his wife. Scot fought Jason and threw numerous blows at him.
"You bastard... how could you do this to me Jason? How could... how the hell could you do this to us... to our friendship?" He couldn't contain his rage as he smacked Jason across the cheek.
The scream drew the attention of other colleagues as they gathered around to hold Scot.
Scot was mortified of what his wife had done.
"Ja.. Jane!" He screamed out the name of his wife.
Tears were rolling down from the eyes of Scot and he still finds it extremely hard to believe that his wife had done such a thing to him.
Scot also find it extremely hard to even call out the name of his wife.
His heart is breaking into tiny little pieces and it was almost as if a string have been placed inside his heart.
He was hurt... Deeply hurt.
"Jane! How could you?" Scot roared with frustration.
Hot bead of tears were rolling down from his eyes and for a while, he wishes that all that had happened was just a nightmare.
He need someone to tell him that all this are nightmares and that it isn't real.
As Scot faced his wife, with rage filled eyes and teeth grinding ferociously against each other. His eyes were bloodshot, and if gaze could kill, then his wife would be dead by now.
On the other hand, Jane didn’t feel bad about what she did, rather, she blamed Scot for all that had occurred. "Why won't I?" Jane responded.
She had just criticized Scot for not being able to care for her and meet her requirements.
The question that his wife had asked him hit him deeply. Her question have torn his scattered piece's of heart into two.
As his brows were slightly arched, he questioned his wife in disbelief. "But.. but I thought you loved me, Jane?" Scot inquired.
He was scared of asking her about her feeling towards him but still, he went ahead to ask her.
He needed to confirm that truly she loves him. "I... I thought you love me Jane because no one would ever do such a thing to the person they claim to love." He stuttered while crying
"Love?" she inquired with a laugh “Look at yourself, aren't you sick of your life? C'mon, your only option should be death. You're already as good as a dead man." Jane jested him and it made Scot more angry.
Scot shook his head in frustration, as he felt misled. He hated to believe her words, but they seem true.
He deep down knows that he was good as a dead man... or wasn't he?
He shot his eyes for a while while sniffing his nose and with that he open his eyes.
With bloodshot eyes, he looks at his wife. Deep down, he tried to control his feelings, because all he could think about was strangling her.
Other colleagues were peering out the window. They were blunt and unable to speak.
Colleagues begin to question themselves at this point, as some of them are aware of what is going on in the office.
"Is that Scot's wife?" some muttered.
"Scot is married?" some inquired.
"Did his wife sleep with our boss?" some said in pity.
"I couldn't believe Scot could marry such a lovely woman and then she cheats on him," another said.
"Oh! Poor Scot.” others said
"Everybody get out!" Jason roared angrily as all of his coworkers murmured in front of him.
Everyone was stunned as they bolted from the office without hesitation.
Scot stare at the ceiling to compose himself but it was quite hard for him to do.
He gaze at his wife as he pointed his index finger at her. "Even if.... you are damn aware that even if it was my last dime of cash, I always did my best to put food on the table. I always... I always continue to provide for you, so how the hell could you do this to me? How could you do this hur...?" Scot couldn't finish his sentence because he stammered as tears streamed down his cheek.
"Who says you've ever fed me? All of the food on the table was paid for with his money, not yours." Jane yelled, extending her finger at Jason.
"What?" Scot exclaimed "Since when?" tears continue to stream down his cheek.
Jason was starting to laugh at Scot after his wife embarrassed him so terribly.
"When?" Jane responded angrily.
"Yeah.” Scot nods.
"Since the day you didn't come home. I saw him in the club, and that's where we met," Jane said confidently, knowing well that her husband couldn't hurt her.
"That night. I slept under the bridge... I slept under the bridge because I was afraid you'd throw me out because I didn't have any money. I have sacrifice a lot for you so please don't do this to me." Scot tries to approach his wife, but Jason tells him not to move an inch.
"I'm glad you didn't come because I found the perfect man for me, someone capable, unlike you. Did you really think those pennies you have would be enough to take care of me?” she gestures to herself “Take a look at me, I am above your standards,” she hissed.
"Jane, why are you doing this to me? What did I do to deserve all of this? You already know how much I adore..." Scot comes to a halt after being interrupted by Jane.
"Love? Don't say such a thing again," Jane moves over to Jason, wrapped her arms around his neck as she demonstrated how much she adored him.
Scot remained deafeningly silent. He was helpless to do anything but cry.
"Honey, what is he still doing here? He has overstayed his welcome." Jane ran her finger across Jason's chest.
"Babe, you understand how unjust this is... you are hurting me deeply Jane and you know that my love is sincere.” He sadly to Jane then turns to Jason.
“I’ll make... I'll make you pay for what you did to me, you made me lose... you have made me loose my wife, you’ll pay Jason." Scot screamed as more tear's flows down from his eye.
"Security!" Jason yelled angrily.
Two hefty security men came into the office and Jason pointed at Scot.
"Get this good and nothing man out of here." the security guard grabbed him and began to push Scot out of the office
"Move," they demanded their voice thick as a bouncer's.
Scot's only thought after the disgrace and betrayal he felt in the office was how to end his life.'What am I living for?' he asked himself.Scot lost his job and his wife on the same day. He has lost everything he has ever loved. Everyone around him had abandoned him, including his friends. Suicidal thoughts rang in his head.'What do I do now, who will aid me now, Oh God!' Scot sobbed bitterly. Scot's felt totally useless at this point. Nothing made sense to him any longer.“Jane!” he screamed at the top of his lungs “After everything we've been through together," Scot said bitterly.Scot was filled with rage, hatred, and despair for everyone that made him feel this miserable.'I can no longer sustain this marriage,' his inner voice said. Scot had enough of everything and decided to go pack his belonging from the house because he felt too ashamed to face any of Jane’s family or Jane herself. He continued shaking his head and folding his arms in desperation as he walked to the plac
"I can't believe I finally met my father after all this time." Scot expressed the excitement he felt by just meeting him. Scot and his father were already seated in one of the city's largest restaurants. Scot couldn't believe what he was seeing because everything seemed surreal to him. When the server arrived, Mr. Donald told him to order whatever he wanted."S-s-Sir, are you serious?" Scot inquired, his eyes wide open in surprise. Mr. Donald laughed and nods his head. "You have nothing to be concerned about, make your order, son," his father assured, while smiling.Scot still couldn't believe what was happening but he knew deep inside of him that something great was actually waiting for him in the form of knowing who his father was."Sir, I have a question for you," Scot said, gaining his father’s attention. While they waited for their order, his father drew his seat closer to him."Go ahead, my son," he said.Scot's finger clapped the table in front of him, his expression lost and
Scot spent the night in one of his father's mansions, where he was treated like a prince. The house was so large that it could house a whole community. There were housekeepers on duty at all times to attend to Scot. The chef prepared many meals for him upon his arrival last night, and a warm shower awaited him. It made Scot feel so good, something he hasn’t been able to feel in a very long time. The mansion’s interior was well furnished with modern amenities and the paintings on the wall completed the color of the curtains. When he was shown his room, he couldn’t believe how large it was because it looked larger than Jane’s parents living room and dining joined together. It could fit an entire family.Scot's new life is so great that he has forgotten about the difficult times. Scot even slept like a baby under the cool air conditioner for the first time in his life. He was so deep in in the sleep that it was his phone's ringing that woke him up."Good morning, son, how are you?" Mr.
"Hey, Mr. Manager, are you going to fire me as well?" One of the employees inquired humorously as everyone laughed at Scot. They all take him as a joke or to be more precise, they take him as a laughing stock. "I promise that you all will lose your jobs today," Scot remarked, his face expressionless.Everyone continued laughing at how silly he sounded and continued to humiliate him. He ignored the lashes and urged Jason and the security guards to leave the office and never return."Who are you to tell me what I ought to do?" Scot was aggressively pushed by a member of these security crew. Scot ignored him and repeatedly shook his head.A coworker stepped towards the receptionist table then asked in a mocking tone. "How can a common cleaner sack me?" everyone burst out laughing loudly at Scot. They took him for a cleaner, and he just can't wait to show them that the person who they take for a cleaner is more than just a mere cleaner Jane was embarrassed by Scot. Jason, on the other
The senior manager's loud voice grabbed the attention of everyone in the workplace. She dashed down the stairs, breathing heavily like a hound being hunted. Her heels continued to hit each step of the stairway. Her expression indicated that something is amiss and there was trouble. She immediately gets down and walks towards Scot, who was being held roughly by two security guards as if he was a thief."Get your hands off him, you fool," Mrs. Costa screamed at both security guards.Everyone was confused by what was going on. Scot was released by the two security guards and Mrs. Costa cradled Scot and attempted to straighten him out.Mrs. Costa implored, her lips shaking in panic, "I'm sorry sir, I apologize sir."Everyone was stunned. They were all taken aback by the Senior Manager's attitude."What's going on?" one of the staff members inquired. Everyone continued to whisper to themselves. "Why is she calling Scot sir?" Another member of staff murmured. As they watched Mrs. Costa cl
Jane felt horrible about how she mistreated and spoke to Scot, she was overcome with remorse and had no idea how to approach him. After a while, she mustered the confidence to approach Scot and beg forgiveness. As she walked around the workplace, she noticed Scot inside his father's office, with his father seated beside him."What do you want, betrayer?" Scot was enraged at the sight of Jane.Jane promptly knelt in shame, holding Scot's left leg in tears, saying, "I'm sorry, my love, please forgive me." Jane begged, her eyes welling up with tears. Scot displayed no remorse and was unmoved by Jane's sobs."So now I'm your love… did you consider love when you and your mother mistreated me?" Scot yelled angrily. His face was held hate but the pain somehow overcame it. Jane was still on the floor, sobbing like a baby who had been thrashed by his mother. She refused to leave Scot without getting a positive response from him."It was the devil's work… my mother duped me," Jane explained b
Scot walked into a fancy store after leaving his father's workplace. Everyone looked at him oddly as he stepped into the shop because of how harsh he appeared. Scot greets the salesgirl he saw, "Good day ma'am." Scot was given a snide glance by the lady who looked like she didn’t want to attend to him but she came from behind the counter and stood in front of him."You need to leave now sir." She stares disgustingly at him then looked back into his eyes. “We don’t have cheap clothes for homeless people here.” she spat proudly and she felt delighted to be insulting the lady.Scot was irritated by her sudden harsh words to him. She didn’t even know who he was and was already talking in this manner.Scot ignored her harsh words and answered her "I need something that looks good on me." He walked further into the shop and she walked quickly in front of him to stop him from going further.Still baring the odd look, she said "Mr. Man!" She exclaimed in complete disgust. "We don't have a
The bell above the boutique’s entrance chimed as Scot walked in, the sound echoing in the luxurious, marble-floored showroom. His entrance had been less than dignified, his earlier humiliation still fresh in his mind. Despite the situation, he was determined to make a statement, to reclaim a fragment of his shattered self-respect. The store was a sanctuary of high fashion and opulence, with every inch meticulously curated to reflect sophistication. But today, the elegance of the space did little to soothe Scot’s wounded pride. The boutique manager, a middle-aged man with a silver streak in his neatly combed hair, approached Scot with an anxious expression. His suit, though expensive, seemed to constrict with the gravity of the situation. "Mr. Frankenstein," he began, his tone laced with an earnestness that cut through the tension, "I’d like to extend my sincerest apologies for the behavior of my staff earlier. It was entirely unacceptable." Scot looked up, surprised by the manager'
The soft evening light filtered through the large windows of Scot’s house, casting a warm glow over the room. The mood was lively, filled with laughter, conversation, and the clink of glasses as Scot’s staff, family, and close friends gathered to celebrate not only Mia’s recovery but the triumph they had achieved together. The dark chapter of Jane’s interference was behind them now, and tonight was all about new beginnings. Scot stood by the bar, glancing around the room, taking in the smiles of his employees and the people who had stood by him through all the chaos. His father, Mr. Donald Frankenstein, sat at the head of the large dining table, engaging in a conversation with Scot’s lawyer, Richard. Mia, looking radiant and healthier with each passing day, was mingling with Linda and a few others from the PR team. Her laughter was light, but Scot could still sense a certain weariness in her eyes, the aftershocks of everything she had endured. As the night unfolded, Scot felt a wave
The soft hum of the hospital filled the quiet room as Scot sat beside Mia’s bed, his hand gently resting on hers. The faint bruises on her face had started to fade, but the emotional weight of what had happened lingered between them. Mia was set to be discharged that evening, but the tension of the last few days hung heavily in the air. Scot’s mind churned with thoughts of Jane and everything that had unfolded since the attack. “I still can’t believe it’s over,” Mia whispered, her voice soft but steady. Scot nodded, his eyes clouded with worry. “I can’t either. But I’m just glad you’re okay.” The door to the room opened, and the nurse walked in with a warm smile. “You’re all set, Mia. Just sign these discharge papers, and you’ll be free to go.” Mia thanked the nurse, her hand shaking slightly as she signed her name. Scot helped her gather her things, but there was an unspoken tension between them. The news of Jane’s arrest had spread across the city, and Scot knew that the consequ
The cool of the night seeped through the gaps in the curtains of Jane’s apartment, casting long shadows across the room. Jane moved methodically, her hands trembling as she stuffed clothes into a suitcase. Her mind raced with a mix of fear and determination. She knew she had to leave, and she had to do it quickly. Her plans had crumbled, and Scot’s inevitable retribution loomed large in her thoughts. She packed her belongings with an urgency born of desperation. Every sound seemed amplified in her ears, every creak of the floorboards a potential signal of danger. She glanced at the clock, anxiety tightening in her chest. She had hoped to leave before anyone could catch her, but as she zipped up her suitcase, a sudden knock at the door made her jump.Jane froze, her breath caught in her throat. She stared at the door, her mind racing. Who could it be at this hour? Her heart pounded as she approached the door cautiously. Peering through the peephole, she saw a group of uniformed police
Scot sat in his office, staring at the spreadsheet in front of him, though his mind was elsewhere. The past few weeks had been relatively calm, but he couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that something wasn’t right. His thoughts drifted to Mia, wondering what she was doing, but he brushed it off, assuming she was at work or on her way home.Just as he was about to turn his attention back to his computer, his phone rang. Scot barely glanced at the screen before answering, expecting it to be his assistant with some minor office matter.“Hello, Scot Frankenstein speaking.”“Mr. Frankenstein, this is Dr. Williams from St. Matthew’s Hospital. You need to come quickly—Mia has been admitted. She’s... she’s been shot.”For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Scot’s entire body froze, the words echoing in his mind like a nightmare he couldn’t wake from. His heartbeat hammered in his ears, and the room spun around him.“What? What did you say?” His voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper.“Mi
The night had fallen heavy over the city, and Jane sat in her apartment, pacing back and forth in a restless rhythm. Her phone was clutched tightly in her hand, her knuckles white with tension. She had made the call, instructing Tommy to proceed. Now, all that was left was to wait. Her heart pounded in her chest, each beat echoing with the gravity of what she had set in motion. There was no turning back. If everything went according to plan, Mia would be out of Scot’s life for good. And Jane? She’d be free from the torment of seeing him with someone else. A cruel smile tugged at her lips as she imagined Mia helpless, bleeding. The evening air was crisp, the sun dipping below the horizon, casting a golden hue over the city. Mia was driving back home from work, her mind wandering to the dinner she had planned for later. Despite the long day, she felt a sense of contentment, her thoughts drifting to Scot and how their lives seemed to be calming down. The past few weeks had been tumultuou
The sunlight barely crept through the curtains of Scot’s room as his phone buzzed on the nightstand. Scot groaned, reaching over to grab it, his eyes squinting against the morning light. It was a call from his assistant, Linda. Normally, she would never call this early unless something serious was happening. He sat up quickly, his heart already racing. "Linda? What’s going on?" Scot asked, his voice thick with sleep."Scot, I’m so sorry to bother you this early, but we have a serious situation. A major client has expressed concern about pulling their contract due to the rumors circulating. We’ve had multiple inquiries from other clients too. It’s not looking good," Linda said, her voice fraught with tension.Scot’s heart sank. He had known that the drama with Jane and the rumors circulating around town could eventually bleed into his professional life, but hearing it was actually happening was a gut punch."Which client?" Scot asked, already throwing back the covers and moving towards
Scot was a bundle of nerves as he drove Mia to his father’s mansion. Despite the disturbing events with Jane, he was determined to introduce Mia to his father, Mr. Donald Frankenstein, and show her that his intentions with her were serious. It was a new step in their relationship, a sign of his commitment to building a future together, even amidst the chaos. The drive was quiet, filled with the low hum of the car engine and the occasional rustling of papers on the seat. Mia glanced at Scot, noticing his tension. She reached over and gently placed her hand on his arm.“Are you alright?” Mia asked, her voice soft and reassuring.Scot offered a faint smile. “Yeah, just a bit nervous. It’s important to me that you get along with my dad. I know things have been rough, but I want us to move forward.”Mia squeezed his arm. “I understand. It means a lot to me that you want to introduce me to him. I’m sure everything will be fine.”As they approached the mansion, the grandeur of the house stoo
Eleanor sat in her car outside Jane’s apartment, the weight of her decision pressing heavily on her shoulders. It had been a restless night, filled with regrets and a deep sense of urgency. Today, she was determined to make one last attempt to reach her daughter, even if she feared it would be in vain. With a deep breath, Eleanor steeled herself and walked towards Jane’s building. Her thoughts were turbulent, replaying her recent conversation with Scot. She hoped that her visit could somehow help mend the rift that had grown so vast between them.Eleanor knocked on the door, her heart racing. After a moment, the door creaked open, revealing Jane with a mixture of surprise and irritation.“Mom? What are you doing here?” Jane’s voice was cold, her eyes narrowing.“I need to talk to you, Jane,” Eleanor said, trying to keep her voice steady. “Can I come in?”Jane hesitated, her expression guarded. Finally, she stepped aside, allowing her mother to enter. Eleanor walked into the living roo
Scot drove through the quiet, tree-lined streets of the suburban neighborhood, each turn and curve bringing him closer to Jane's mother's house. The serene environment contrasted sharply with the turmoil that had defined his recent weeks. Jane’s behavior had spiraled to a level that made him uneasy, and he hoped that speaking with her mother might offer a glimmer of hope.Arriving at the modest, yet well-kept house, Scot took a deep breath before stepping out of the car. He approached the front door and rang the bell, the sound echoing softly in the stillness of the afternoon. After a few moments, the door creaked open, revealing Jane's mother, Eleanor, standing on the threshold.Eleanor's eyes were red-rimmed and tired, a testament to the emotional strain she had endured. Her face, once confident, now bore the marks of a woman deeply troubled. She managed a weak smile as she greeted Scot.“Mr. Frankenstein, it’s… good to see you,” she said, her voice trembling slightly.“Eleanor,” Sc
