A week had passed since Luke murdered the Rockwell Family's guards. Although they had initially decided to try to track down the mysterious cultivator who was responsible, they quickly gave up. It was surely not worth expending so many resources to avenge the deaths of three people at the bottom of the pyramid, especially considering that there were only five and a half months left to decide the new patriarch.
Luke went on with life as normal, listening to the rumors in the Piggy Bar to make sure he hadn't left any clues, while also preparing for the new part of the plan.
Night was soon to fall, so Luke decided it was time to go shopping for the basic ingredients for the poison. Thanks to the guards, he now had the 25 spirit stones needed to make the necessary purchases required to make the poison known as Weeping Smile.
This poison was very special, as it was only effective against earth element cultivators like Aaron. In addition, it was very difficult to detect given its composition and how little known it was. The recipe for this poison was one of the things he got from Duke Valkrys' inheritance grounds, so it was easy to imagine how old it was.
Although at the time he considered it trash for only being effective against cultivators in the First Rank, now it would be his best weapon to unleash total chaos within the Rockwell Family. It was the perfect way to start the fire that would engulf them.
Removing the makeup from his face and covering himself with dark clothes, he headed for one of the many stores operated by the Kinsley Family.
Excluding the Merrick Family, the Kinsley Family was the most powerful in Ludwit City, while the Rockwell Family was slightly more powerful than the Carlisle Family.
Should the Rockwell Family experts discover any of the ingredients used in Weeping Smile, it would be easy to turn their attention to the Kinsley Family with whom they had recently been in conflict.
Stepping into one of the stores located in the center of town, Ludwit approached the counter that a fat man was tending.
"Bring me what's on the list." Without wasting many words and maintaining a mysterious aura around him, Luke merely handed a written list of ingredients to the salesman.
"Two meters of Water Worm skin, fifteen nails of Ice Kappa and eight teeth of Long Eyes Ogres." Reading the list, the salesman couldn't help but frown. He couldn't understand why a person would buy these Magical Beasts body parts. "Dear customer, could you tell me what you want these things for? As far as I know it's impossible to produce anything with these things."
Although the salesman put on his friendliest smile, Luke immediately lost patience with this fool. Why was he asking such a question?
"Why do you want to know, are you my father to ask for explanations? Tell me if you're going to sell me the materials or not, don't waste my time kid." Tossing a bag with 25 spiritual stones inside, Luke looked the salesman straight in the eyes with his cold stare.
A shiver ran down the salesman's back, who immediately nodded and headed to the back of the store to get the materials. He had clearly tried to meddle in the affairs of someone with a bad temper. For a moment he had felt a powerful murderous intent to escape from the body of the mysterious customer.
It didn't take him long to find the materials, and within 5 minutes he was delivering them to Luke.
"Thank you very much for your purchase dear customer, I hope you will visit us again." The salesman bowed and watched as Luke left the store without saying another word.
When Luke finally left the store, he quickly made his way to the stairs and climbed up them, arriving to a room with an exquisite wooden door.
Knock, knock.
"Come in." An elderly voice spoke from the other side of the door.
"Sorry to interrupt your rest Elder Kimi, but I need to inform about a situation. A strange customer has just made a purchase at the store, and I felt it necessary to send someone to keep an eye on him. I've never seen him before in Ludwit City and it looks like he's someone hairy."
Before he could finish the sentence, the old man held up one of his hands to signal him to stop.
"Boy, it's best not to get involved with that person. If I had to use one word to describe the aura he emanated, it would be death. Since he came to our store, he probably has no problem with our family. It's best that we avoid making enemies for free, just keep an eye out for rumors. My gut feeling is that something big is about to happen. Now you can go." The elder didn't even bother to open his eyes and calmly ordered.
"I understand Elder Kim. I wish you a good night." The salesman bowed and respectfully bid farewell. Although he looked like a frail old man on the outside, in truth he was one of the most influential figures in the Kinsley Family, overseeing the family's business. Only the patriarch's opinion carried more weight within it.

Unaware of this conversation, Luke set off for the outskirts of the city. Time was against him, so he could not afford to waste any seconds.
His idea was to get the missing material during the night, so that he could spend the day producing the poison. Aaron went every night to drink with his friends at the Ice Sky Tavern, a place reserved for members of large families.
His plan was simple, he would poison the alcoholic beverages to deliver a horrible death. If all went well, Aaron would currently be enjoying his last 24 hours of life.
Approaching the wall that protected Ludwit City, Luke hid in the shadows waiting for an opportunity to head to Rotten Valley. In these three years, he had learned that the shift took place every 12 hours, at noon and midnight.
In this way, he stayed hidden for a couple of hours, until the opportunity appeared. Without wasting time, he used Shadow Descend, a Common Grade camouflage spell, to pass unnoticed through the wall.
Although he regretted having to expend World Energy on this, the loss was not very significant as it was a darkness element spell. His Core had gone from being 70% full to 65%.
'I hope there are no surprises this time. I just need the blood of a Three Eyed Fire Rat and that's it. Hopefully I'll get lucky this time.'
The Three Eyed Fire Rat was a Magical Beast that was not too strong, but difficult to find. They were usually found at the intermediate level of the First Rank, so it shouldn't be hard to hunt it down.
The only real difficulty was finding them. But, thanks to his experience, Luke knew that they liked to hide in humid areas despite being of the fire element.
'This looks like a good place. This Magical Beast is very cautious, the only way to draw it out of its hideout is to use a bait.'
Luke opened his bag and took out the Long Eyes Ogres teeth he had recently purchased, crushing them until they had a sand-like consistency. He then concentrated 10% of his World Energy and channeled it, setting the teeth on fire.
This was one of the Three Eyed Fire Rat's favorite foods. The teeth worked as an excellent channeler of the fire element, so they were very appetizing.
'Now all that's left to do is wait. Those teeth should retain their properties for about an hour, I don't think it can resist the temptation for that long.'
Placing the bait on the ground, Luke climbed up a tree and concealed his presence, but not before placing a Living Shadow mark nearby.
The other Magical Beasts in this area would not be interested in it since most of them belonged to the water element.
After waiting for almost half an hour, his target finally showed up. However, the joy was short-lived.
'Why the hell am I so unlucky? Everyone used to envy me thanks to my luck, but lately nothing goes right!'
The Three Eyed Fire Rat that had appeared was not at the intermediate level of the First Rank, but rather at the threshold between the First Rank and Second Rank....
Although Luke certainly had no desire to fight a Magical Beast on the threshold between the First Rank and Second Rank, especially considering that cultivators at the same level were weaker due to a natural issue, he had no choice. He had to kill this Three Eyed Fire Rat no matter what. If he failed, he would have to gather spirit stones again to buy the teeth, which would take perhaps how long.'I have to kill it no matter what. It'll be harder than I thought, but I should be able to do it with the World Energy I have available.'Focusing his gaze on the Three Eyed Fire Rat and making the World Energy in his Core spin at the fastest speed for the best possible effect, Luke suddenly disappeared from the tree branch he was on and reappeared a couple of meters away from his target using Living Shadow. The Three Eyed Fire Rat was surprised by the sudden appearance but wasted no time and reacted immediately. Its tail instantly grew and burst into flames, using it to attack Luke.Boom!Luk
'Huh? What's going on? The only times the seal shows any reaction is when I cultivate, but it's almost undetectable. Now it's as if it's going nuts.' This was the first time the seal had shown such a reaction, so Luke's surprise was understandable.Since he had managed to close his wounds, he decided to move closer to the direction from which the stream of World Energy was coming. He could afford to lose a few hours in order to find out what had triggered such response. He was in a relatively deep area of Rotten Valley, so he walked very carefully. Concealing his presence as much as possible to avoid alerting the nearby Magical Beasts, as Second Rank and even Third Rank Magical Beasts were bound to be in the area.Despite the risk this could represent, in his opinion, taking it was completely worth it. In these three years, the only thing he had discovered about the seals was that they were a creation from the time of the Great Amethyst Empire, so it was easy to see how important this
Luke wasted no time and immediately headed for the lake. Although he had managed to defeat a Magical Beast at the Second Rank, it had been possible because its cultivation level was very unstable. While he was now at the threshold of the First Rank, his limit was facing a couple of Magical Beasts at the initial stage of the Second Rank. The gap between each Rank was gigantic, so being able to fight as an equal against them was impressive. The surroundings of the lake would be filled with Magical Beasts in the Second Rank and Third Rank in the next few hours, so he had to take advantage of this window of time to find out what was in the depths of the lake."Time to swim." Luke said these words and channeled his World Energy into the water element, creating a sort of bubble around him. This would allow him to dive in without having to worry about oxygen. When he entered the lake, the first thing Luke noticed was the strange quietness that reigned. The World Energy current had most likel
Luke stared at the amethyst for a moment. Despite the passage of thousands of years, there was still an enormous amount of World Energy in it. To be honest, he was tempted to absorb some of it, but he could not bring himself to do more than think about it. The Great Amethyst Empire had been forced to use a special mechanism to seal whatever was inside, and they had clearly intended to keep it there for all eternity. If even the most powerful force in the history of mankind could not wipe it out, there was no doubt that if the seal was broken, a disaster capable of wiping out the Aurora Continent would occur.Luke calmed down and pushed all these worries to the back of his mind. There was no point in worrying about it now, in his current state it was impossible for him to do anything anyway. Right now, all he had to do was to get out of this place before the magical beasts came. There was nothing else at the bottom of the lake that could interest him, so without wasting any more time,
After sleeping for a few hours, Luke woke up around noon. Once he opened his eyes, the first thing he did was to go and see how the refinement process of Weeping Smile had gone.He smiled when he saw that the glass jar was half-filled with a colorless substance. The bottle that contained the blood no longer contained any liquid, but rather a blue pulp. This substance had no use beyond being a loose end, so he did not hesitate for a second to set fire to whatever he had used to make the poison, so as to leave no trace.Luke closed the jar with Weeping Smile and carefully placed it in his bag, which he then hid in the hidden pockets of his clothes. He wished he had a storage ring with an invisibility enchantment, but he was too poor for that right now. He did not want to draw attention to himself, so he could only hide the bag in his clothes. He made himself look like a typical drunkard and went to Piggy Bar. He wanted to check if the lake incident had stirred up any commotion. He was a
Seeing that Aaron was asking for his drink, Luke was more than happy to serve him. Turning his back to him to get it from the tray, he manipulated an undetectable amount of World Energy with which he made the jar with Weeping Smile appear in his hand.Luke was not in the least interested in giving him a pleasant death, he just wanted to be sure that Aaron would die. So he had no qualms about pouring the entire contents of the jar into his drink. It was a dose that not even the nine lives of a cat could withstand. "Young Master Aaron, here is your Ice Dragon Flame." Luke carefully placed the drink in front of him. Keeping up his act, he asked, "Can the other young masters tell me what your drink is?"Aaron's acquaintances chaotically ordered their respective drinks. It was clear that the alcohol had gone to their heads and they could not control their actions. Nevertheless, Luke remained in character and patiently served each of them. This was one of the reasons he had left the assas
“Huh? What is going on Aaron? Why are you making that face?” One of his friends asked after hearing the glass shatter. “Tch, that old man is really sucking you dry with all that training. You are not even able to endure a little bit of alcohol thanks to it.”Everyone laughed hearing this. It was clear to everyone present, due to alcohol intoxication, though Aaron was just too drunk and had let his glass fall into the ground. No one was aware about the gravity of the situation and the consequences they would have to face. But there was one exception. One of the hostesses holding Aaron's arm realized something was wrong."Somebody call the manager right now! Something is wrong with Young Master Aaron!" The hostess shook his arm and saw that there was no reaction from Aaron, who remained stone-faced with his eyes wide open. There was a tone of desperation in her voice, knowing that the Rockwell Family would go crazy if anything happened to one of their direct descendants. The cry seemed
Aaron Rockwell was dead. A direct descendant of the Rockwell Family had been murdered at the Ice Sky Tavern.Although he had already been prepared for the worst when Elder Zak had contacted him to inform him of the situation, the Carlisle Family Patriarch couldn't help but age a few years when he heard those words. He couldn't remember how many years it had been since the last time a direct descendant of the great families was murdered within the walls of Ludwit City. No matter what, it was already bad enough. But Aaron's murder made it worse. The Rockwell Family was in the process of choosing a new patriarch, so this made the situation even worse. He really wanted to burn Aaron's body and make it disappear so he wouldn't have to deal with this mess, but that was nothing more than a dream. Even if he got rid of all the witnesses, they would still find a way to find out what had happened. Doing something like that would only make things worse. The facts were that he had been murdered
