Ingredients

A week had passed since Luke murdered the Rockwell Family's guards. Although they had initially decided to try to track down the mysterious cultivator who was responsible, they quickly gave up. It was surely not worth expending so many resources to avenge the deaths of three people at the bottom of the pyramid, especially considering that there were only five and a half months left to decide the new patriarch.

Luke went on with life as normal, listening to the rumors in the Piggy Bar to make sure he hadn't left any clues, while also preparing for the new part of the plan.

Night was soon to fall, so Luke decided it was time to go shopping for the basic ingredients for the poison. Thanks to the guards, he now had the 25 spirit stones needed to make the necessary purchases required to make the poison known as Weeping Smile.

This poison was very special, as it was only effective against earth element cultivators like Aaron. In addition, it was very difficult to detect given its composition and how little known it was. The recipe for this poison was one of the things he got from Duke Valkrys' inheritance grounds, so it was easy to imagine how old it was.

Although at the time he considered it trash for only being effective against cultivators in the First Rank, now it would be his best weapon to unleash total chaos within the Rockwell Family. It was the perfect way to start the fire that would engulf them.

Removing the makeup from his face and covering himself with dark clothes, he headed for one of the many stores operated by the Kinsley Family.

Excluding the Merrick Family, the Kinsley Family was the most powerful in Ludwit City, while the Rockwell Family was slightly more powerful than the Carlisle Family.

Should the Rockwell Family experts discover any of the ingredients used in Weeping Smile, it would be easy to turn their attention to the Kinsley Family with whom they had recently been in conflict.

Stepping into one of the stores located in the center of town, Ludwit approached the counter that a fat man was tending.

"Bring me what's on the list." Without wasting many words and maintaining a mysterious aura around him, Luke merely handed a written list of ingredients to the salesman.

"Two meters of Water Worm skin, fifteen nails of Ice Kappa and eight teeth of Long Eyes Ogres." Reading the list, the salesman couldn't help but frown. He couldn't understand why a person would buy these Magical Beasts body parts. "Dear customer, could you tell me what you want these things for? As far as I know it's impossible to produce anything with these things."

Although the salesman put on his friendliest smile, Luke immediately lost patience with this fool. Why was he asking such a question?

"Why do you want to know, are you my father to ask for explanations? Tell me if you're going to sell me the materials or not, don't waste my time kid." Tossing a bag with 25 spiritual stones inside, Luke looked the salesman straight in the eyes with his cold stare.

A shiver ran down the salesman's back, who immediately nodded and headed to the back of the store to get the materials. He had clearly tried to meddle in the affairs of someone with a bad temper. For a moment he had felt a powerful murderous intent to escape from the body of the mysterious customer.

It didn't take him long to find the materials, and within 5 minutes he was delivering them to Luke.

"Thank you very much for your purchase dear customer, I hope you will visit us again." The salesman bowed and watched as Luke left the store without saying another word.

When Luke finally left the store, he quickly made his way to the stairs and climbed up them, arriving to a room with an exquisite wooden door.

Knock, knock.

"Come in." An elderly voice spoke from the other side of the door.

"Sorry to interrupt your rest Elder Kimi, but I need to inform about a situation. A strange customer has just made a purchase at the store, and I felt it necessary to send someone to keep an eye on him. I've never seen him before in Ludwit City and it looks like he's someone hairy."

Before he could finish the sentence, the old man held up one of his hands to signal him to stop.

"Boy, it's best not to get involved with that person. If I had to use one word to describe the aura he emanated, it would be death. Since he came to our store, he probably has no problem with our family. It's best that we avoid making enemies for free, just keep an eye out for rumors. My gut feeling is that something big is about to happen. Now you can go." The elder didn't even bother to open his eyes and calmly ordered.

"I understand Elder Kim. I wish you a good night." The salesman bowed and respectfully bid farewell. Although he looked like a frail old man on the outside, in truth he was one of the most influential figures in the Kinsley Family, overseeing the family's business. Only the patriarch's opinion carried more weight within it.

Unaware of this conversation, Luke set off for the outskirts of the city. Time was against him, so he could not afford to waste any seconds.

His idea was to get the missing material during the night, so that he could spend the day producing the poison. Aaron went every night to drink with his friends at the Ice Sky Tavern, a place reserved for members of large families.

His plan was simple, he would poison the alcoholic beverages to deliver a horrible death. If all went well, Aaron would currently be enjoying his last 24 hours of life.

Approaching the wall that protected Ludwit City, Luke hid in the shadows waiting for an opportunity to head to Rotten Valley. In these three years, he had learned that the shift took place every 12 hours, at noon and midnight.

In this way, he stayed hidden for a couple of hours, until the opportunity appeared. Without wasting time, he used Shadow Descend, a Common Grade camouflage spell, to pass unnoticed through the wall.

Although he regretted having to expend World Energy on this, the loss was not very significant as it was a darkness element spell. His Core had gone from being 70% full to 65%.

'I hope there are no surprises this time. I just need the blood of a Three Eyed Fire Rat and that's it. Hopefully I'll get lucky this time.'

The Three Eyed Fire Rat was a Magical Beast that was not too strong, but difficult to find. They were usually found at the intermediate level of the First Rank, so it shouldn't be hard to hunt it down.

The only real difficulty was finding them. But, thanks to his experience, Luke knew that they liked to hide in humid areas despite being of the fire element.

'This looks like a good place. This Magical Beast is very cautious, the only way to draw it out of its hideout is to use a bait.'

Luke opened his bag and took out the Long Eyes Ogres teeth he had recently purchased, crushing them until they had a sand-like consistency. He then concentrated 10% of his World Energy and channeled it, setting the teeth on fire.

This was one of the Three Eyed Fire Rat's favorite foods. The teeth worked as an excellent channeler of the fire element, so they were very appetizing.

'Now all that's left to do is wait. Those teeth should retain their properties for about an hour, I don't think it can resist the temptation for that long.'

Placing the bait on the ground, Luke climbed up a tree and concealed his presence, but not before placing a Living Shadow mark nearby.

The other Magical Beasts in this area would not be interested in it since most of them belonged to the water element.

After waiting for almost half an hour, his target finally showed up. However, the joy was short-lived.

'Why the hell am I so unlucky? Everyone used to envy me thanks to my luck, but lately nothing goes right!'

The Three Eyed Fire Rat that had appeared was not at the intermediate level of the First Rank, but rather at the threshold between the First Rank and Second Rank....
