Jinhoo could be seen standing outside a training center. The Signpost above the training center was written: "Best In The World."
"What an irony." Jinhoo scoffed as the shabby-looking training center is different from its noble name. Jinhoo lives in a beat-up neighborhood so the only training center he could find is nothing to write home about, besides he doesn't have the money to register in a well-built training center.
"Here goes nothing." Jinhoo walked in expecting to see two or more personal training but he saw no one expected the person lying on the ground with his back facing Jinhoo.
"Hello?" Jinhoo called as he went closer to the man while looking around to see the types of equipment the training center has. Though Jinhoo has not been to any gyming center before, he still has an idea of what a good gym should look like. The one he is currently seeing could barely pass as a gyming center, the equipments are all worn out, and some can't even be used anymore.
"Hello?" Jinhoo came closer and nudged the man to wake up. Jinhoo saw the empty bottles of beer lying on the floor. "He must be a drunkard, I just wasted my money." Jinhoo registered and paid online, and he is starting to regret his action. The man appeared to be in his mid-forties and something about him seemed familiar but Jinhoo couldn't quite figure it out.
"You better wake up old man and refund me my money." Jinhoo vehemently shook the man until he woke up.
"Who are you?" The man struggled to keep his eyes open.
"I am Jinhoo and I just registered for a training section." Jinhoo's words made every bit of sleep clear from the man's eyes.
"Registered?"
"Yes."
"How?"
"Online, I came across your website so I registered and paid." Jinhoo presented his registration ticket and the man's eyes widened.
"You ignorant bas... Child." The man was able to withhold himself from using profanities on Jinhoo. The reason why the man was angry is that he is owing his bank and whatever that is paid into the account would be taken.
"I can't acknowledge this payment, go home and I am not taking any student."
"Good, give me back my money and I would certainly be on my way." Jinhoo had to pay for the registration with all his life savings, so he doesn't have money to pay for any other training center, besides no training center would take such an amount.
"Your money is lost, I never asked you to register online. Damn that site, I have to shut it down." He muttered the last part but it didn't escape Jinhoo's ears.
Jinhoo search the whole night in order to find their website, and if he knew that the training center is nothing like the one he saw on the website, he wouldn't have paid.
"I am not leaving here without my money." Jinhoo sat down with a frown and it made the man angry but he could not do anything to a minor.
"Fine, you can sit here for eternity because you are not getting a dime from me." The man went back to his sleeping position.
"Fine, I will go report to the police and make sure they squeeze out every penny I sent to you." Jinhoo made a threat he would by no means carry out but it did serve its purpose.
"You wouldn't dare." The man sat up instantly and narrowed his vision at Jinhoo.
"Try me." Replied with a determined expression.
"You win, I accept you as a trainer in this center."
Jinhoo gasped as this wasn't what he bargained for. "No, I need my money back."
"It's gone, it's either you accept to be a trainer or you forget about your money."
Jinhoo sighed as he too doesn't have the capacity to involve the police so he has to accept.
"Alright, when will I start?" He asked.
"Start by dying up the training ground. What? You don't expect to train in a dirty environment." The man went back to sleep after saying that.
"What a rip-off." Jinhoo stood up and went ahead to tidy up the center.
"TASK REGISTERED, CLEANING THE TRAINING CENTER, UPON COMPLETION TWO POINTS WOULD BE AWARDED." The system registered it as a task and it made Jinhoo happy.
Jinhoo took his time to clean up the training center. The ring wasn't new but Jinhoo felt a sense of honor when he was cleaning it. Jinhoo has no plan of becoming an MMA fighter but he wants to get as strong as them. And he chooses MMA because just as its name implies, you will have varieties of skills.
"I am done." Jinhoo woke the man up and the man found it annoying that the boy keeps disturbing his sleep but before he could say anything, he saw how neat the gyming center has become. It has been ages since it looked this glorious.
"Wow, you really outdid yourself." The man stood up and walked close to the big picture frame of his younger self holding the MMA world championship belt. Jinhoo saw the frame lying on the floor while his cleaning and the picture made him realize why the man looked so familiar.
"You are Jinwoo, the world champion that my father told me about."
About two decades ago Jinwoo was once the world champion and many fighters were defeated by him. He was giving the people something different and he was loved for that, but unfortunately, the love got to his head and he took a wrong turn in his life. He started using drugs and got so proud, he would always appear to the ring drunk and always ignore his training. Because he believed his talent was enough he started to ignore his training, but sadly talent can only take you far it wouldn't complete the journey. So, gradually he started to lose his touch, he lost his belt, and before he know it no agent wanted to work with him. It got so bad that nobody would turn up to his match since they all know it would end in his defeat. He retired shamefully and has been living his life secluded from people.
"That's so long ago." Jinwoo was surprised that someone of Jinhoo's age recognized him. The reason why Jinhoo was able to recognize him was that his father had a picture of the champions in his collection.
"So, I am done for today, what will I start with." Jinhoo has received his two points and he is eager to start his training.
"There is nothing to do for today, just go home."
Jinhoo noticed the look on Jinwoo's face and decided not to drag the matter. He took his hoodie and left the champion to wallow in his sadness. When Jinwoo stepped outside, the day got darker than he expected.
"It would be better if I jog home." Jinwoo put on his hoodie and started jogging home without knowing what awaits him ahead.
On his way home, Jinhoo saw the crimson gangs trying to bully two teenagers, a boy, and a girl. They appear to be the same age as Jinhoo, they are lovers that were coming back from their date. Crimson gangs stopped the lovers and asked the girl to come with them."Your boyfriend would be safe if you agree to follow us to our party." One of them said as he touches the girl's chin. They were four in number, two of them were pinning the boy down and one was just standing and watching everything then the one that seems to be the leader of the group was standing close to the girl and he is the one speaking."Just let us go." The girl cried as she felt as powerless as her boyfriend. "How can you still defend such a weak boyfriend?" The leader said as he walked over to the boyfriend and placed his foot on top of him. "He can't even say a word to save you." The leader mocked. While this was going on, Jinhoo watched from a safe place. He recognized the four, they are second-year students and
Bella always sneaks out of the house to enjoy her freedom. Today happens to be one of those days and fate had it that Jinhoo had to cross her path."Hope you are not injured." Jinhoo helped her to stand and she just smiled and shook her head but after seeing how Jinhoo was covering his face, Bella couldn't help but take a step back."You don't have to be afraid." Jinhoo was quick to understand so he removed everything that was covering his face and Bella's eyes widened."I know you." She said as her cheek got stained red."You do?" Jinhoo was genuinely surprised for he has no idea that Bella would be able to recognize him at the moment."Yes, you are the boy that always sits beside the window." Bella's voice was no longer loud and sharp as it first was."You are correct, I know you too." Of course, everyone in school knows Bella, she is not only the most beautiful girl but also one of the richest. "And because I know you, I am surprised to see you on this side of the neighborhood.""W
Jinhoo was surprised about his recent task, not only was the point so high, but the task is also difficult, and never had the system ever said it would deduct a point if ever he failed to complete a task. While Jinhoo was thinking about the latest development, a car arrived and Bella stepped out of it. All attention went over to her, she was radiating like the sun, and as such everyone would certainly go to her for warmth. Bella looked around as if she was looking for someone in particular, but before she could find whoever she was looking for, her friends rushed over to her side."Hi, Bella." Su-Ho came and hugged her best friend. Su-Ho is Bella's best friend, and she never liked Jinhoo, her hatred further increased when Bella died. "Su-Ho, how was your vacation?" Bella asked. Just like Bella, Su-Ho is also from a wealthy family but unlike Bella, she loves spending her parents' money. Su-ho's parents are into automobiles, and they have done a lot of shady deals in order to keep the
After dealing with the bully, Jinhoo went to the notice board to see which class he has been assigned to. He wasn't surprised to see his name in class A. This was the same as his previous life, the only different thing was he became the target of the bullies."Maybe they noticed the attention I was getting attention so they decided to bully me in order to make themselves popular." Jinhoo thought to himself as he walked towards his class. He noticed how the hallway looked deserted and that is to say that students have all gone to their classes. Today being the beginning of the school year, the teachers that are assigned to new classes would introduce themselves and new students would also do the same. If nothing else changed, Jinhoo already knows who his homeroom teacher is."You are late on the first day." The teacher said to Jinhoo. Mr. Park is their homeroom teacher, and the only reason he is ever kind to Jinhoo was because of his intelligence. Mr. Park is only kind to the children
The reason why Jinhoo left school early is that he needed to get stronger as fast as possible. He left school and went to meet his master."You should be in school right now." Jinwoo said to his student."I need to get strong as fast as I can." Jinhoo stated without flinching. "Shouldn't you be more worried about your grade?" Jinhoo doesn't need to care about his grade since he knows that the way their country works, grades don't get you anywhere. Also, Jinhoo has already gone through school and he was the best student, what learned is still with him. So, he doesn't need to study or listen to the teacher in order to get a good grade."That has been taken care of." Jinwoo noticed that his student has his mind set up and there is a fire in his eyes that is refusing to diminish. Such fire is rare even among fighters, so Jinwoo knew that it won't quench until Jinhoo has gotten what he wants."There is only one way for you to get strong as fast as you can." Jinwoo smiled as he remembere
"NEW TASK REGISTERED. DEFEAT YOUR OPPONENT, AND UPON COMPLETION OF THE TASK, FIVE POINTS WILL BE AWARDED." The system registered the task and it made Jinhoo smile, the smile annoyed his opponent more making him dash toward Jinhoo. The moment the opponent got close to Jinhoo, he swing a full blow at Jinhoo, but the latter bent down and cleanly dodged it. Everyone cheered as the duel started. Jinhoo kept avoiding his opponent's blow by running back whenever the man take a swing at him. Jinhoo knows that he would be at a disadvantage if any of the man's punches connect, and engaging the man in a fistfight would be stupidity, so avoiding him is the best. While everyone thought that Jinhoo was avoiding the man because of fear, in truth he was targeting something as it would be the only way for him to win. Jinhoo has been gifted with observation skills, he has always been able to pick up things others failed to see. He has never used it to fight before regressing, so he never saw the use
Once again, Jinhoo defeated his opponent even though it wasn't as easy as the past ones. Though he keep going against stronger opponents, Jinhoo was happy about it since it was making him stronger. He made sure not to rely on his points so much, he use his brains and never relent on his exercise even when he gets no points from them."Are you on drugs?" Jinwoo asked his student the moment they got home."Why do you ask?" "The way you recover in the morning and your injury heals fast." Jinwoo has noticed how Jinhoo is always ready to fight even after nearly passing out the previous day. And the injury he sustained in a fight doesn't wear him down. Jinhoo's ability to recover is not enough to say he is superhuman but it's enough to make one believe that he has a strong body or using some drug enhancement."No master, I just meditate and since I am always careful not to break any bone, with just a good night's sleep I easily recover." There is no way Jinhoo would tell his master that hi
Just as the student Ji Hoon chose as the bread shutter tried to step out of the class, he pumped into Jinhoo."Where are you going in such a rush." Jinhoo's voice drew everyone's attention to him. He had a little plaster below his eyes, but a small part of the cut could still be seen making everyone know that the plaster wasn't just for show. "How come the uniform looks so good on him." One of the girls said dreamily. Jinhoo was standing a foot above the chubby boy and he was carrying his back with only one arm holding it. Jinhoo had a gentle smile on his face and it gave the chubby boy a sense of comfort as he visibly relaxed."I was going to get Ji Hoon a drink." He answered and Jinhoo looked behind the class to see Ji Hoon sitting down with his legs on top of the desk and his hands behind his head."You don't have to, you can go sit down it's too early in the day for a drink." Jinhoo persuaded the boy to go back to his seat."It seems you are eager to buy me the drink yourself."
