Ch 13: This was necessary

Trapped inside the tavern because of the two dragon hunters that entered it and began to celebrate their kill of a dragon.

Collin and Ethons have to play along until there is an opening to take.

"How long should we stay here until those 2 guys leave or are they distracted to notice us leaving the place?"

"We just stay as we are for a time till it best to

"Alright, hopefully, those guys are too busy to notice us over here."

Right at that moment the same tavern maid comes back placing their food along with another cup of drinks.

"Here's your food you two, oh I see you haven’t finished with your drinks would the both of you like me to take these back then."

"No it's fine you can leave them."

"Of course who would pass up free drinks when someone else is paying for it."

The tavern maid takes a glance at the dragon hunters and then back at Ethons.

"You know those dragon hunter guys aren't too bad looking, but you still beat them by looks."

"Well thank you for those kind words and I must say you also shine with beauty."

Ethons was having a hard time dealing with a female who took quite an interest in him because of his natural beauty as an elf.

Back as his old self when just a normal human he was just an average-looking guy who a female there wouldn't think twice to hit on unless he was the one trying.

"Say, I was thinking after I am done with my work how about me and you spending some time together. I was always interested in learning about elves."

"Excuse me, I think you have patrons in need of your services."

"I am not the only tavern maid working at this place; they will be taken care of by the others. Do you have a short problem with me being here?"

"Not at all having your lovely company is fine just thinking that you could be trouble with the boss of this tavern."

That was a lie. Truthfully Collin wished for her to be gone quickly before she brought the attention of the newcomers.

The man looks to his elf friend as it seems to be him that must be the one to deal with the tavern maid.

"Oh the owner isn't going to care as long as the man gets his money and I just gotta make it look like I am working here."

"Still if you were to get in trouble how are we to spend time together. I will feel lonely without having you by my side for the rest of this night."

"I wouldn't want that to happen to live such a cute elf as yourself to be missing out

The tavern maid leaned down onto the table and placed an elbow on the table with that same hand on her face.

Used the other hand to put on Ethons chest seeking to get a feel of him.

Collin was doubting that Ethons was handling this well and thought that he may have to step in to bring an end to it.

"So would you do me the favor and go back to work if you did."

Ethons stops talking, moving closer to the side of her face whispering in her ear words that soon cause the face to go red.

"Well, I never thought you an elf would say such words like a pervert never thought your kind had that in you. I am going to look forward to it more than ever now."

The tavern maid takes her to leave, smiling happily and winking at Ethons before getting back to work.

Collin at this moment was confused and curious about what his companion said to the girl.

"What?."

"Are you going to explain what was just said to her?"

"Just something she got an early hearing about what to be expected if we meet up, but sadly that won't happen."

"Right at least you did your job in getting that tavern maid away to leave us be in peace."

"Do you think they have noticed us at this point?"

Collin checks to take a look at the dragon hunters.

Turns out they were still busy with others talking with them.

"We're good, but let us not stay around too long for their attention to be on us."

The two of them go in with their time in the tavern for a little longer until finish.

Collin made sure to leave their payment for the drinks and food before they left.

While they were leaving one of the hunters saw them exiting the tavern.

"What's wrong my friend?"

"Nothing just saw two people leaving this place. One is a human, the other an elf."

"An elf you say is not much of a fan of their kind."

"Why that."

He turned his attention to his friend beside him.

"Elves of any type have the annoyances of acting so Prideful like they are better than everyone else."

"I take it that you had your share of dealing with elves."

"Yeah, not my fun times, it's the reason half-elves, I like them more since they don't have that prideful treat and also have hate against the elf. Anyway, let's put that shit aside and focus on drinking in celebration along with having a damn good time with a lucky woman tonight."

"I will cheer on that, my friend."

The two dragon hunters hit their cups together and then drink them like pros.

Everyone cheers for them when both finish at the same time as they let out a roar that brings the level of excitement up inside the tavern.

《Next morning》

Ethons and Collin immediately left the town of Caister walking a good distance till stopping to face each other.

"Ethons this is it, I hope for the best in your journey alone."

"I wish we didn't have to part ways, but if you think it's time and I am ready then, I will make you Collin proud."

"You don't have to make me proud since I already am. Just do me the favor and don't allow anyone to know of the mark."

"I won't have my word on that."

Both look at each other smiling before hugging and saying their goodbyes.

Ethons turned around walking forward while he stayed behind watching his elf friend back where soon it was no longer in view.

Collin slowly turns to the town staring at it.

"Now I must do my part and begin this plan."

He walks towards Caister where just after some time the whole town was in flames destroyed by one single person.

Collin was inside feeling the fires burning through anything it can get its hands on.

Bodies of the innocent people of this place lay around bleeding their blood

No one was spread to live, all were dead except a single person who needed to stay alive.

Unexpectedly it was one of the dragon hunters who was heavily wounded.

His partner on the other hand wasn't lucky given his throat and guts were ripped out.

"Why…. Why have you done this?"

"It was necessary to happen just like me, allowing you to stay alive."

"What you 're talking about is madness."

"It doesn't matter, I don't need someone like you to understand, just do your job and bring this message I am about to tell you."

Collin walks up to the dragon hunter going down on one knee to whisper in his ear.

What the guy hears causes his eyes to go wide in a shocking expression.

"No…. That can't be…. What you are saying holds the truth."

Collin doesn't answer him, leaving what told the dragon hunter alone to figure out how to deal with it.

Wings come out of the man's back and he starts to fly away from the town in flames.

"Oh fucking all the order got to hear about this."
