Chapter 66

Damien got home after his day at the office and headed for the kitchen to help himself with a glass of water. He was just about to take a sip of his water when his phone buzzed, indicating that a notification had come through. Reading through the message Joanna sent, he smiled and replied briefly.

He freshened up and, just as he was about to lie down on the bed, an idea popped into his head. He had nothing to do tomorrow, so he went to the bar to meet with Joanna. It would not affect him in any way. So he changed into something simple and headed out of the house with a cab.

He made use of Joanna’s location to get the name of the bar they were in. When he got to the entrance, the bouncer at the front blocked his path from getting in. Damien did not want to say much, so he moved to the other side to get in, but the bouncer held him by his chest, stopping him from proceeding.

“You need to stop trying to get in,” the bouncer said
