Chapter 8

The young man who had just arrived walked over to Joseph. He flashed the friendliest smile, showing his white, neat rows of teeth and the dimple on his right cheek.

"Young Master, I am Thomas, the manager of this place."

Bon already knew the young man's identity, making her break out in a cold sweat. However, there was nothing he could say for now.

Thomas was still smiling kindly at Joseph. It made Joseph and Serra misbehave. "I am thrilled to be of service to a great young master like you."

He continued to speak kindly and talked about many things about this Villa. It used to be an ordinary luxury villa. However, a few months ago, a servant from a mysterious noble family bought this Villa. In addition to buying it, he also asked the manager to turn this place into a Smart home that could operate without servants.

Hearing that, Serra became very enthusiastic. She embraced Joseph tightly, and her heart was filled with pride. Leaving Damian the trash and getting the excellent Joseph was her good fortune for three lifetimes.

Before Thomas could finish speaking, he suddenly became aware of Bob's presence. Bob was the head of security in this place. He was supposed to be standing guard in the control room or making rounds to ensure this area remained safe.

"What are you doing here?" Thomas asked Bob. His gaze was sharp and intimidating. A security chief had no right to accompany a homeowner unless it was the homeowner's wish.

Bob's hands shook. He felt intimidated by just that one question. "Mr. Thomas, I ... I...."

Thomas was now one step closer to Bob. There was no emotion in his sentence, but it was like a knife piercing Bob's heart.

"Say it clearly."

"He takes care of this house."

Damian spoke. It was a short sentence, but it caught Thomas' attention. The man stopped and turned around, looking at Damian, standing casually with one hand in his pants pocket.

"Sir, with all due respect, I can guarantee that man does not take care of this place." Thomas tried to reassure Damian. "Did he come to see you?"

Instead of answering, Damian asked Thomas. "So he doesn't run the place? So where is he supposed to work?"

Thomas took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "His name is Bob. He's the head of security here, but his area of responsibility is the east wing."

Damian showed a feigned, curious smile. "East wing?"

Thomas nodded. "That's right. The houses in the east wing region cannot compare luxury to this region. In short, it's a simpler place."

Damian nodded in understanding. He had opened his mouth, preparing to say something else, but was immediately stopped by Bob, who began to feel threatened. "Shut up and leave!"

Thomas glared. He didn't expect Bob to speak so presumptuously. "How dare you!"

Thomas looked at Joseph and was embarrassed. He immediately went to him and bowed respectfully. "Young Master, sorry to hear something bad from his filthy mouth."

Joseph was not pleased with Thomas' hospitality. His heart was still uneasy even though his face remained calm. He nodded, which made Thomas breathe a sigh of relief.

"Mr. Thomas, it seems that you have met the wrong person," Damian spoke. "The one that bastard offended was me. You should apologize to me."

Thomas maintained his friendliness. Everyone who could enter The Green Villa was not a random person. "Sir, I apologize for this guard's foolish behavior. However, as the manager of this house, I must apologize to the house's owner first."

Damian snorted. "Are you sure you can say that?"

Thomas did not answer immediately but looked into the situation further. He must not be rash, especially since he had never seen his old figure.

"If Thomas wasn't looking for me, do you think he was looking for you?" Joseph pointed at Damian, angry.

Seeing the opportunity, Serra did not want to miss out on insulting Damian. "Trash is still trash. Even if it's wrapped in gold, it's still trash."

"Your expensive clothes can't cover up how dirty you are." Joseph also sneered.

Bob had already opened his mouth. However, seeing Thomas' sadistic gaze, he could not say anything.

Damian ignored the crazy couple. He remained calm as if nothing had happened. His gaze fell on Thomas, who was still silent and digesting the situation. "Who owns this house?"

Serra was inflamed. She thought that Damian was wasting their precious time. "What stupid question is that? He's looking for Joseph. Don't even think that he's looking for you. So, don't get all huffy and feel like you're the most important."

On the other hand, Joseph began to lose his composure. He didn't know who Thomas was referring to yet, so he didn't dare to say too much.

Thomas frowned. He had let Serra speak in the first place because he thought that the woman had come with her master. To make sure, he asked Serra. "Excuse me, Miss, who did you mention?"

Serra was still full of confidence. "You must be looking for my lover, Joseph Hanzel. Isn't that right?"

"Joseph? Isn't this Mr. Damian?"

Damian snorted. "If you're looking for Damian, he's not the one. Damian is me."

Thomas' face turned red. He was embarrassed and angry at the same time. His gaze turned fierce when he saw Serra and Joseph. "So, the person you've been insulting is Mr. Damian."

Serra was terrified when she received that gaze. Her legs felt weak instantly. Cold beads of sweat also broke out from Serra's face. She tried to defend herself. "Sir, aren't you mistaken? Damian is just a useless scum."

Remembering how her life with Damian had been for the past year, Serra felt her confidence rise slightly. Thomas must be looking for Joseph, not Damian.

"I lived with him for a year and can confirm that he is trash!"

"Shut up!" Thomas was fed up with all the insults Serra was talking about. How could that woman insult Damian?

"Mr. Thomas, what Serra said is true. He works as a construction worker at the Hanzel family company." Joseph defended Serra. "Think again, is the person you're looking for really Damian?"

Thomas pointed at Joseph, angry. "Insolent. Do you think I don't even know my master's name?"

"But how could a trashy man like him own this mansion."

Damian snorted coldly. His gaze was cold as he looked at Joseph and Serra. Those two humans had brains but could not think.

Feeling Damian's mood deteriorate, Thomas immediately turned around and apologized. "Lord Damian, forgive me for failing to recognize you."

"No problem." Although it was not accompanied by emotion, that sentence was like a knife stabbing him. Thomas felt his hair stand on end. The man turned back around and stared at the three people with the savage gaze of a hungry wolf.

"This house belongs to Mr. Damian. Everything in this place can be controlled with his voice. That's enough to prove that this house is his.”
