Chapter 007

Arnold went to a mall and bought a new cell phone. He logged into his email, and the important numbers stored on his old cell phone were backed up.

Arnold also keeps Elizabeth and Sebastian's numbers. He messaged them and told them his new number. After finishing setting up his cellphone, he immediately contacted his best friend, Albert.

The call was connected.

"Hello, who is it?" Albert asked in wonder when he saw an unknown number calling him.

"It's me, Arnold," Arnold responded.

Albert's eyes widened, and he immediately straightened his back, which was initially leaning against the chair.

“Arnold, what happened to you? Where have you been? I came to the park last night, but you weren't there. Is everything okay?” There was worried evidence in his tone.

"Yes, Albert, everything is fine. Last night, there was a little trouble, but it was that trouble that brought me luck. I'm very grateful, even though what happened last night was quite painful," explained Arnold. He smiled faintly. When he remembered the men who beat him until he was injured, he felt so sick, but it was that event that finally brought him to his real family.

Albert frowned. He didn't understand what Arnold meant. But instead of asking for more explanation, he asked about the fine that Arnold had to pay immediately.

“What about the fine? You only have a day left," reminded Albert.

"Don't worry, I've paid for it."

"Have you paid for it?" asked Albert in a surprised tone. “How can you pay for it?”

“The story is quite long. I will tell you about it when we meet in person.”

"In that case, okay. I have to get back to work. The break time is over."

“Okay. See you, bro!”

Call ended.

Arnold walked around the biggest mall in the city. His steps stopped in front of a luxury car showroom. He was also interested in seeing the cars that were displayed there.

Now he dared to set foot in a car showroom. Unlike before, who only dared to look from a distance, no salesperson even approached him just to give him a brochure.

Seeing Arnold's arrival, the salesman and the saleswoman greeted him in a friendly manner. What's more, seeing Leon's neat clothes and handsome face made them believe that Arnold was someone who could afford to buy a car there.

“Welcome, sir.”

Arnold returned their welcome with a smile. He walked, looking at the cars one by one. The two salespeople explained enthusiastically to him.

Arnold's attention was caught by the car with the highest price. Even though his family already had dozens of cars, he wanted to have this car in his garage.

"I like this car," said Arnold with a longing look.

“This is the highest-priced car, sir. Of course, this is the coolest and best car here. There are only 30 units in the world. This car is worth 10 million dollars," explained the saleswoman.

Arnold snorted. The balance on the card was more than enough to buy the car. Without thinking much. Arnold decided to buy it.

“Alright, I'll take this car!”

“Okay, sir. Please come with me for the payment process.” The saleswoman walked in front of Arnold, and he followed.

Before they arrived at the payment desk, several salespeople were seen welcoming the arrival of special customers. As seen from their welcoming gesture, these customers were not ordinary customers.

Arnold could only see the backs of the two special customers. They were a man and a woman, looking like a couple.

"Who are they?" Arnold asked the saleswoman.

“It's Mr. Victor Galvoir and his fiancee. Do you know them, sir? He just proposed to his girlfriend last night," answered the saleswoman.

Just as the saleswoman answered, Victor and Rachel turned around, and they saw Arnold standing not far from them. They were very surprised to see Arnold there.

“What is that loser doing here?” Victor and Rachel immediately stepped closer to Arnold.

“Arnold! What are you doing here? Are you looking to apply for a job as a salesman?” Rachel asked in a teasing tone.

Arnold snorted. He replied in a firm voice. “That's none of your business!”

"Or did you come here to apply for a job as a cleaner?" Victor chimed in. “There is no way you came to this place to buy a car,” he added, and they burst into laughter.

The saleswoman frowned at Victor's words. 'Why does Mr. Victor talk like that? What does it mean? Do they really know each other?' She talked to herself. She reminded Arnold to go to pay.

"Sorry, Mr. Arnold, can we finish the payment immediately?"

“What payment?” Victor responded quickly, with his eyes scanning Arnold and the saleswoman suspiciously.

“Mr. Arnold wants to buy a car, Mr. Victor. He will immediately complete the payment," explained the saleswoman with a smile.

Victor and Rachel looked at each other and immediately laughed. The saleswoman's smile faded when she saw their laughter.

“Hey, I told you there is no way he is going to buy a car here! He is a pauper and a loser! He can't even afford a 30-dollar meal. What do you expect from him?” Victor exclaimed while glancing at Arnold with a condescending look.

The saleswoman's gaze turned to Arnold. In a disappointed voice, she spoke, “What do you mean, sir? Did he come here to trick us?”

“Of course, he must have come here just to play with you all. You should have thrown him out the moment he saw him set foot in front of the entrance," sneered Victor. "Look at his bandaged hand; he was injured after being caught stealing from a shop yesterday. I witnessed it." He didn’t only incite the employees, he also slandered Arnold.

Arnold's hands clenched into tight fists. His jaw tightened, and his blue eyes darkened. Anger was written all over his face.

“Shut up your mouth, jerk! Don't talk without proof! I came here to buy a car, not to play tricks with the staff like you said!” Arnold warned as he pointed his finger. “Don't listen to them! I'll pay for that car now!”

With furious steps, Arnold walked towards the payment table. Victor and Rachel followed him to see if the man would actually pay or not. But in their minds, they were already convinced that Arnold was just playing tricks, especially when they found out from one of the salespeople that Arnold wanted to buy a car with the highest price.

Victor and Rachel crossed their arms over their stomachs while watching carefully.

Arnold handed over his card, and the saleswoman swiped the card into the machine.

‘This card has been declined’.

The notification that appeared from the machine made the saleswoman even more convinced that Victor's words were true. She tried again, and the result was the same.

Her sweet attitude suddenly turned sour. She threw Arnold's cards on the floor.

“You are a liar! The card can't be used," she exclaimed in a high voice. "Oh my God, I've wasted my time serving crazy person," she complained.

Victor and Rachel laughed while shaking their heads.

"I've told you, he came here just to play with you," Victor said in a teasing tone.

“I'm not a liar. I swear there are 30 million dollars in this card." Arnold picked up the card on the floor while reassuring the workers there. "I want you to try it one more time," Arnold begged as he held out the card, but the saleswoman slapped his hand away.

"No! I won't be fooled again. Hurry and leave before our patience runs out!” She gestured with her hands to command him to go.

“No way!” Arnold stared at the card in disbelief. He paid the fine and bought a new cell phone with this card. But why is it suddenly not working now?

“Security! Security!” The saleswoman screamed for security to drag Arnold away from there.

Security officers arrived and immediately pulled Arnold's body out of the showroom. Rachel and Victor grinned, seeing Arnold being treated roughly like that.

“He deserves it. He's been giving my dad a hard time since he was little," Rachel muttered.

Arnold walked over with a gloomy expression. He had the chance to make Rachel regret it right then and there, but luck wasn't on his side.

“Hufttt!” Arnold sat down on a bench on the side of the road while sighing heavily.

"It sucks! Why is the card suddenly not working? Why did this have to happen in the showroom?”

Suddenly, his cell phone rang. He took his cell phone from his trouser pocket and found that the person calling him was Sebastian. He received the call.

“Good afternoon, Young Master. I call you to inform you of something important.”

"Yeah, what's that?" Arnold's voice sounded unenthusiastic about replying.

“Your card has been officially replaced. This is an order from Madam Elizabeth. For this replacement process, the bank temporarily blocks the card you are carrying so it cannot be used. I have brought a new card for you, and I will give it to you," conveyed Sebastian.

Arnold closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. That's why he couldn't make a payment at the showroom. After a moment of silence, he responded to the old man.

"Okay," he responded shortly.

“Young master, where are you now? I have to give this card to you now.”

“I'm in front of The Gardenic Mall.”

“Okay, wait there, Young Master.”

After waiting for about 30 minutes, a luxury car stopped in front of Arnold. The driver swiftly got out and opened the car door for Arnold.

Arnold sat in the back seat next to Sebastian. The old man smiled at Arnold, but his master's expression didn't look good.

The car drove away and left the place.

“Young master, are you okay?” Sebastian asked.

“I just feel peevish. I came to the showroom and wanted to buy a car, but suddenly the card couldn't be used. So they dragged me out of there," explained Arnold as he leaned back in the car seat.

Sebastian felt very guilty hearing the story from his young master. "Oh, young master, I'm so sorry for that. It's all my fault. I should have notified you straight away when the bank was processing your new card.”

"How about we go back to that showroom and buy that car, Young Master?"

“No need. I'm no longer interested in that car," replied Arnold without looking at Sebastian's face.

“Oh, please, young master, what should I do to make amends? If you want to punish me, whatever, do it.”

Arnold snorted while chuckling. "What do you mean? I will not punish you. I just feel peevish. But never mind, it's better to forget it."

Sebastian took two boxes from his bag. He handed them to Arnold.

“Young master, I came to you to give you these.”

Arnold frowned at the two boxes. He knew one box contained his new cards, but what was in the other?

"It's a party invitation from your uncle, Young Master," conveyed Sebastian.

"My uncle?" Arnold frowned.
