The fight had lasted no longer than ten minutes up to this point.
"So you want to kill Lucia."
"Precisely."
"Well, I'm afraid I can't let you do that."

"Devil Sword, Fifteenth Form, Tehillim!"
Reid's sword strikes were becoming exponentially more powerful. The strike was push Fourier off of where he was standing. Fourier's cape fluttered from the wind of the blow.
"Hey now, if you don't start trying soon, you may just die."
Reid swung his sword around in front of him a few times. Neither of them had been injured, the two of them had little patches of dirt and smoke on their clothing, but no injuries on their bodies.
"Devil Sword, Sixteenth Form, Mishlei!"
Reid forced his sword down towards Fourier's neck. The power of the attack had nearly doubled from the last one. Fourier positioned his sword perpendicular to Reid's and held his hand of the blade. The two swords clashed with each other and sent a gust of wind shooting off in every direction. Fourier was struggling a little as he held up against the force of the attack, before deflecting it off to the side.
"You better use one of your abilities now, otherwise the next attack's going to kill you."
Fourier held his sword in front of him, bracing for the next attack.
"Devil Sword, Seventeenth Form, Qohelet!"
Not only were Reid's attack getting stronger, they were also getting faster. He charged at Fourier, swinging his sword in a circular motion. Fourier was forced to dull the force by jumping back whilst blocking the blow. As Reid's sword slid off his Fourier's sword, a few strands of his hair managed to get sliced off.
Without stopping the constant barrage of attacks, Reid instantly unleashed his next attack.
"Devil Sword, Eighteenth Form, Shir Hashirim!"
Fourier was forced to bring his blade back up, parrying the incoming rush of swings. His footwork eventually became less and less perfect and the wave of attacks was constantly forcing him back. The sound of metal clanging got more and more frequent, until, Fourier was beginning to struggle keeping up. The dancing of the two swordsman became more and more of a blur.
With no other choice, Fourier opened his left hand and used a technique.
"Royal Arts, Blood Moon Bodhisattva."
A gigantic metallic statue of a golden bodhisattva appeared behind Fourier. It had six arms and towered over the two of them. Its arms were seeping with a dark red mist and its face showed a look of pensive sadness.
The statue clasped two of its hands together in a praying motion. Suddenly, Reid felt as if he was unable to move.
"What on earth is that?"
He struggled but his body did not budge.
"Angel Sword, Technique Development, Lull!"
Reid's white Angel Sword shined and the immense overwhelming pressure gradually dissipated, allowing him to move again.
"Devil Sword, Nineteenth Form, Yekhezqel!"
Reid's sword moved at a speed so great that the air around the sword began producing a loud whistling noise as it travelled. It cut through the air like a lightning bolt, straight towards Fourier's torso.
He managed to block the attack, but the power of it sent him flying, crashing down onto his feet a significant distance away. Fourier desperately got back into his posture, holding his sword in front of himself.
"Heh, you seem to be struggling."
Without a moment of hesitation, Reid charged towards Fourier again.
"Devil Sword, Twentieth Form, Daniyyel!"
This time, the sword was exponentially stronger than the last. It gave off a subtle black mist as it swung through the air.
Fourier raised his sword and deflected the blow, but the pure strength was enough to keep it moving and ended up cutting some of his clothing. Reid didn't finish there however, he constantly barraged Fourier with swings, forming cuts all over his clothing and eventually drawing a small but significant amount of blood from Fourier's wrist.
The black mist seemed to settle around the wound.
Reid laughed to himself.
"You've been cursed now."
Fourier seemed genuinely shocked by what occurred.
"That's what I've been trying to do the entire time, don't expect to live past eighteen."
The large bodhisattva statue disappeared from behind Fourier as he clenched his left fist. His hair covered his eyes.
"Royal Arts, Universal Bodhisattva."
An even larger, pure black statue of Bodhisattva appeared behind Fourier. This statue's face seemed to be crying. After being summoned, the statue didn't move, or do anything, the entire fight.
"I would leave you to die, but I've just developed my final sword form and I'm going to test it on you, Fourier!"
Reid clanged his two swords together. Suddenly, the magical aura around him completely disappeared, the only thing left was an extremely dense pressure of death.
"Final Technique, Sword of God, Trei Asar."
In an instant, Reid appeared right in front of Fourier. His two swords glimmered a shine of gold and swung directly at Fourier. Dust and wind engulfed the entire area, only the gigantic black Bodhisattva was visible.
After a moment, the dust cleared up. Lily looked up anxiously, seeing the result of what occurred.
Fourier's sword was stuck right through Reid's stomach.
Blood slowly dribbled out of Reid's mouth.
"No way... how did you..."
In one clean motion, Fourier pulled his sword out of Reid.
He coughed a little, dropping his two swords to the ground.
"W-what is that ability of y-yours, I couldn't e-even see what it did..."
Reid was gasping for air on his knees now. Fourier looked down at him.
"My ability didn't do anything. The Universal Bodhisattva is only a vessel of which every single person you have ever killed can watch you, it doesn't do anything else."
"That's impossible... then how did you stop my final attack...?"
"I just parried it."
"But how... you were struggling with some of my weaker forms."
"It's pretty simple to explain, basically, I wasn't trying."
Reid was coughing more violently.

Fourier walked over to Lily, who was sitting on the ground. Her state had not fully recovered, she still looked traumatised and in shock. Fourier tore a little section of cloth off from his cape. The soft breeze brushed against their hair, swaying it across there faces.
"Here."
He offered it to Lily.
She looked up at him with cold, broken eyes.
"Here's your section of my Royal Arts."
She seemed confused.
"You'll understand more as you get older."
Lily was still silent.
"I'll take you to Alfonso's place, he has a nice garden with some flowers, I'm sure you'll be able recover."
It seemed Lily wasn't listening to what he was saying. He gently placed his hand on her head.
"Develop new abilities, cover your Forceful Heart until you're ready to use it again, use Royal Arts in the meantime."
The words finally seemed to be getting into Lily. She held the little piece of cloth in her hand.
It seemed he didn't have anything left to say.

"Aren't you going to kill me?"
He heard a croaky, dying voice from behind him. Reid was kneeling on the ground, pressing his hand on the wound on his stomach. A small puddle of blood was beginning to stain the firt underneath him. Fourier turned around.
"No."
"Why, why aren't you going to kill me, isn't that what you want to do? I'm trying to kill Lucia after all... isn't it your duty?"
"No. It's not my duty."
"You're a Knight aren't you?"
"So are you."
Reid lightly laughed.
"If I recover, I'll try to murder Lucia again."
"That's okay."
"Do you really think you'll be able to stop me every time? You're going to die soon... you know."
"That's okay, I don't need to stop you ever again, someone will come, and he will stop you for good."
"You really annoy me. You'll regret this, you know."
"No, because I have to let you live."
"Why is that?"
"Because I am you and you are me."
I was awoken the next morning by the sounds of boisterous clambering outside. The mentor was standing outside waiting for us. Everyone quickly got changed and made their way out of their rooms. I was sharing a room with the other two boys and we quickly got out. A little while later, the girls also came out and joined us. I couldn't help but notice the other boys kept glancing awkwardly at the girls. "Alright everyone, one of the Royal Guards has kindly decided to help us, all of you better show them respect and I will warn you, the training is likely going to be very intense." The mentor announced. In the distance, a person wearing a green chequered duster coat with an oversized scythe rode towards us on a horse. "Hello everyone!" He was a very flamboyant person. Everything from his appearance to his manner of speech just screamed exuberant. "Hi." There was a light grunt between us, none of us were really at his energy level. The mentor walked over and began speaking to him.
Muichiro stayed the night with us after the training session. In the morning, a horse carriage was waiting for us at the front of the farmhouse. I wonder why Lily wanted me to come along? It was pretty convenient though, I needed to go to the capital and find Lucia anyways. Muichiro, Lily and I gathered at the front of the farmhouse. "Stay safe, Lily!" "I'll miss you, Miti." "I'll miss you too." "Come back soon." There was no saying how long the three of us were going to stay in the capital. After saying our goodbyes to the people I've been staying with for the past few days, we got into the carriage and began heading towards the capital. It was nearly identical to the carriage from before. The subtle farm animal smell was enough to make sure I wasn't too comfortable. With a few bumps and shakes, the carriage moved towards the capital at a steady speed. "Lily." "Yes?" She looked straight into my eyes. "So, I was wondering why you wanted me to come with you." Muichiro was
It was around 5:45 am. I was awoken by the blaring sound of my alarm. Just a little longer. I reach across my bed, feeling all around the bedside table, covering my hand with dust and other residues on it. Eventually, my hand reaches the phone, vibrating erratically and I tap my finger all over, eventually hitting the snooze button. The phone alarm begins blaring again. Really, already? This time I grab my phone and open it, flooding my eyes with a wave of burning light. 6:00 am. I drag myself out of bed and walk over to the clothes that I had pulled out the night before. It had almost been a month since I last wore my long comforting soccer socks. I put on my clothes, strapping the shin guards to my shins. Fourth year's the charm... I felt an immense feeling of despair as soon as I remember what had happened the prior year. I slowly began feeling literally sick, I felt like throwing up and my stomach tensed so hard I thought that there might've been a bird flying around ins
We continued on our way towards the capital. Lily was bandaging up Muichiro's eye. "I can't believe I let a mere bandit beat me up like this, I'm meant to be a Royal Guard!" "Don't worry about it too much, without you, we'd probably all be goners." I tried to lighten the situation. The carriage stumbled on, slowly taking us to our destination. After finishing up with first aid on Muichiro, Lily came back over and sat next to me. "Are you okay?" She asked. "Yeah, I'm mostly fine." I didn't really sustain any injuries aside from the soreness from my sword. The blowdarts stung when they hit me but after removing them, it wasn't too bad. "That's a relief." She flashed me a subtle smile. The carriage was silent for a little while. "Thank you for protecting me before." "Don't worry about it." Still, I was too weak. I was supposed to protect this princess and yet I was barely able to defeat two bandits. Even Muichiro was fighting seven on his own. Suddenly, Lily crawled closer t
"What are you doing here?" I felt as if my body was being crushed, I could hardly breathe from the immense pressure emanating from Fourier. I had never met him until now. Wait. Have I met him before? Why does something seem so familiar? "Answer my question." "U-um... I have some business with Princess Lucia." "What type of business exactly." He slowly began pulling his sword out from its sheath. Crap, what was I meant to say? I guess I'll just tell him the truth. "U-um, it's a long story, but I have to protect Princess Lucia for various reasons." "If you want to become a Royal Guard, sneaking into the castle is not the way to do it." "Well, it's not exactly that..." "Please leave, before I make you." Find the princess. Ah, my relentless headache just won't end. Find the princess. I've gone this far, screw it. I drew my sword. Suddenly, Fourier's facial expression completely changed. He seemed shocked for some reason. "Rin?" He muttered. "Huh? Who's Rin?" He just l
I put my sword back into its sheath and ran towards the throne. My arm was incredibly sore, every small movement caused a sting of pain. What was I supposed to do now...? I stopped around five metres from the throne, the princess was cowering behind the big golden chair. The king had an extremely surprised demeanour, yet neither of them said anything. I bowed my head. It was enough to inform them of the fact that I wasn't going to kill them right then and there. "Who are you?" The king asked. Suddenly, Kozue burst into the throne room. "Get away from the king!" Kozue screamed. He raised his sledgehammer. Air circulated around it like an aura. I could feel the pressure building up at the end of the hammer. "Royal Arts, Monocrete Assault, Air Type!" A powerful shockwave of air was shot towards me as he swung it. Crap. I tried to cover my face with my sword and block the attack as best I could. The attack still forced me to crash into the wall. Debris rained down from the cr
It was almost dusk. Everyone was still happily playing around on the field. It wasn't long after before a caretaker called everyone in for dinner. Everyone made there way inside, following each other. "Aren't you coming in too?" The female caretaker asked me. "Um..." "Don't worry, we have enough for everyone." "I guess I'll come in then." I was sure that Lucia wasn't going to be too happy about me hanging around her. But I just couldn't leave her alone, especially with no one else to watch over her. I walked over to the entrance of the farmhouse. It was uncomfortable small, for the amount of people, but it was obvious that it had gone through several renovations. All the children were sat down around several large dinner tables. The caretaker laid out many plates of food, on a connection point between the kitchen and the dining area. All the children lined up and waited for their turn to get their meal. I stood at the back of the line, letting all the children in front of me,
It was early morning. My arms were mostly cured of their soreness, although there were still signs of the conflict the day prior. The couch did not do good for my back, however, I felt a subtle pain as I stood up. I looked around. No one else was up yet, I grabbed my sword from the ground and attached it back onto my hip. It was relaxingly quiet. The area had a very nice calming feel to it, I walked outside. The chilly morning air was a comforting feel. The grass on the ground was somewhat slippery from the dew covering the tips of the shoots. I took a little stroll around the farmland-like area around the main building. The sun had just barely begun its rise, the place was still relatively dark. "Ritsu!" Someone called out to me. "Yeah?" It was Chloe. She was speed walking in my direction. "How early did you wake up?" "Maybe an hour ago?" "Were you bored?" "I supposed so." I responded. "Same. I haven't asked yet but what are you doing here?" "You know how I said I have to
