Chapter 31

Jendall Kurtis's Villa.

Candayce was pacing to and fro, from one corner of the room to the other. She was restless, unwilling to sit even though she had been told for the hundredth time.

Jendall's eyes followed her as she moved back and forth. He was sitting in a reclining car, an aid for his old back. There were a couple of men behind him.

All of a sudden, Candyce stopped pacing and started walking to her father.

"You should sit." Her father urged, signaling at one of the many couches in sight.

"I'm worried. Something bad might have happened to him. I don't know what this feeling is." Candyce's eyes were wild as she stake the claim. There was a shade of horror idling in the corner of her face.

"Didn't you say that you watched him take care of some men all by himself? I think he should be able to protect himself. I have faith in him." Lord Jendall acclaimed, looking quite confident.
