Awaken

The wind brought a fraction of peace to Jake's mind as he drove back to the hospital. Sebastian had stopped screaming into his ears and he couldn't be more grateful. At least, that was one less thing to worry about. He sped back to the hospital, wanting to be sure that Sasha was perfectly okay.

Sebastian looked at the young boy his aunt had left him in charge of and his heart bled. He was doing a terrible job of keeping the young man sane and he knew it. He wasn't supposed to allow him to mess up his life, that was the exact reason his aunt hired him. The woman knew that her nephew was a tough nut to crack, she knew that he would need someone to have his back. Unfortunately, she entrusted that decision into the hands of a lawyer and not a policeman. Sebastian shook his head and went back to staring at the buildings as they passed, speedily, through his eyes.

"Since when has the company been experiencing issues?" Jake finally broke the silence with a question.
