Dinner

The dinner table was not as decorative as Jake had imagined it would be. For God's sake, it was the King's. They were wealthy and very sophisticated but they didn't put that much attention into their decoration for the dinner party. Maybe, it was because of the guest they were having over. Jake wasn't really the ideal son in law. In fact, he wasn't really the ideal anything but still, to maintain their reputation, they had to pretend to love him.

Jake remembered how hurt Amanda was when he told her that he would be attending a dinner at the King's mansion. She had rejected the idea strongly. But Jake was his own man, with his own cash flow, he didn't need her to tell him what to do anymore. So all she was do was talk and yet he would still go ahead and do whatever he planned on doing. And that was attending the dinner.
