Free Falling

It was going as planned and Jake couldn't imagine his luck. He pulled Amanda to her and hugged her. They stayed like that for what felt like days till Amanda finally decided to let go.

"Does this mean that you have forgiven me?" She asked with bright eyes.

"Yes, that is exactly what it means. Can we go to bed now?" Jake was worn out and in desperate need to close his eyes for a few. At that point, nothing else mattered. Not even a petty argument with a certain blonde woman whose face was coloured red because of how happy she must have felt to win could deter him.

Amanda did not understand why Jake forgave her so easily but who was she to argue with him? At least he did. That was what mattered. She wasn't totally selfish but she also didn't care about what was going through his head at that moment. She left herself at the mercy of others. Giving them a free pass to judge her and say all that they could about her. Even if it meant bringing her down along the way.
