The Last Option

The lights were no longer bright, the flowers were not blooming, the air appeared thicker, the birds stopped singing, and the world crumbled on Jake's chest as Sasha walked away. His breaths came out in a ragged form. He wasn't even sure how he could still be breathing, his chest felt like it was closing up. Like a wound struggling to heal, just that it was taking longer than expected. In all the numerous heartbreaks that Jake had, he had never experienced one as painful as losing his best friend. The world came to a standstill to mock him for his failure and remind him of his perpetual loneliness.

The restriction of air in his lungs made his knees to be weak and he fell to the floor. Tears dropped to the ground and he wished he could drop dead as well. The last person that he loved walked out of his life and it was all his fault. Everything he loves, he hurts. That was his new mantra.

Sasha didn't stop to look. She knew what she would see. She knew that it would make her heart melt
